Summary: Great Product -- Does the Job
Review: I just got the Samsung Yepp and I think it's a great player. From the moment you open the box it definitely has that "touch me, feel me" look to it. This thing is very very small (smaller than I expected from pictures on the web), I'd say about the size of a deck of cards. You can easily "palm" it in your hand, and it weighs almost NOTHING (I hardly notice it when it's in my pocket, I think it's lighter than my wallet). This certainly beats carrying around a discman and a caselogic. The sound quality is excellent (The earbuds that come with it are okay, but I prefer my Sony Fontopias). The controls are intuitive, and the PC interface software is easy to use (Make sure to get the newest version from the samsung website). The voice recorder is definitely a nice bonus; it's great for recording lectures in class. I don't use the phonebook feature b/c I have a Palm Pilot, but that's also a nice feature. My only reservations are that: It only plays MP3 format, unlike other players which also support RMA, WMA, etc.
There's no backlighting for the LCD.
No USB yet (but due out soon). If you can deal without these extras for now, this player is for you. If you shop around, you can find this player a lot cheaper than any other player out there.

Summary: You will not be disappointed
Review: After hesitating between the choice of the Yepp and the Rio, I chose the Yepp, and I am happy I did. It is very easy to use. I had mine full of songs within 20 minutes of opening the box. I will probably buy the optional USB connection, but the parallel port transferred the mp3 files fast enough. This thing is small--smaller than the pictures make it look and smaller than I was expecting. About the size of a deck of cards, but thinner. Its way lighter than my StarTac cell phone. The headphones, of course, are not the best, but that should be expected. It sounds great, and there are a few EQ modes you can use. The microphone works really well. Battery life is suprisingly long. Volume is good enough that you can hear the music in a noisy atmosphere. I don't think the lack of backlighting is a big deal because the controls are simple and this also saves battery juice. It comes loaded with two strange sounding songs that I deleted. I haven't used the phone book option, so I can't comment on that. Overall, I was pleasantly suprised about the high level of quality because I was unsure of whether to get this or the Rio. Yepp Yepp!

Summary: Not sturdy at all
Review: After using it on the train every day to and from work, for a couple of weeks, it is suddenly very delicate. Just brushing with my hand makes it stop playing music. And sometimes when it stops, the buttons don't work, and I have to remove and replace the batteries. And sometimes when it stops, it says that there are 0 MP3's on it; the only resolution I've found to this is to leave the batteries out of it overnight. I initially loved the device, but now I am greatly disappointed. PS - The software is not very well-designed either. It is teeny tiny on my 1600x1200 display, and I can barely see the names of my MP3's with the software.

Summary: Good Buy - get it and be on the edge of technology!
Review: Great player! You may not use the phone book feature, but as a music reproducing device it serves its purpose well! Sound quality is very good. Running only on two AAA bat's, it runs for hrs & hrs. Navigation and controls are easy to use. Software runs well on NT & 98 (tested myself). I even used a CD tape to connect it to my casette player in the car. It's worth having it - that's it!

Summary: The Best Mp3 player from samsung
Review: I bought it in its 4th week of release and i still have not considered changing it. IT has never malfunctioned. It has a good amount of storage. The equalizer is great. The voice recording and phone book are very handyThe only downside is the parallel cable which is really slow. Other than that it is one of the best mp3 players you can buy.

Review: I bought this along with sony md-91 because for quick recordingfrom my mp3 library in my comp.. and this baby served me well.. verywell in fact.. first, bad things... no backlit and earphone is kindabad... you can live with it if you don't mind little bit of hiss.. other thing.. no usb... but it's optional and parallel port is fast enough.. now good things... this thing is really light.. i think lighest in the market.. and this is not that expensive . . . and design is very cute... i personally think those 'raveMP' is cheap but really really ugly.. this sleek silver thingy is on par with Rio550 in design.. but better in other things.. like price and sound quality.. which matters most.. if you are not going to buy this because of dang cheap earbud ... believe me other got cheaper ones included in their mp3...

Summary: Very cool MP3 Player
Review: I bought this mp3 player a couple of weeks ago and have thouroghly enjoyed it. One of the main features I looked at in buying it is that it works on any windows operating system. I use 95 at home and nt at work and haven't had any problems. I like the sleek design and easy controls. The Hold button is useful to when I'm carrying it in my pocket so it won't randomly press buttons. I find i can fit about 17 songs on it plus the option of 32 more megabytes space is nice. The telephone book is useful as well. I think the earphones it came with are fine, but thats not a big deal anyway. One draw back I've found are that you can't upload mp3's to another computer. It gives you an error saying that uploading mp3's is illegal and I won't even go into why that is messedup. It claims to be that smallest player out there but from what I've seen it's about as big a the Rio boxes. It's about the size of pack of cards. The realjukebox software it comes with won't record from my CDROM drive at all. I had to go and get a free ripper and encoder. USB would be nice but Parrallel works just fine...

Summary: I have fallen in love with this player
Review: I can absolutely recommend the Yepp 64 mb player. But the ear phones which is delivered with the player is not that good. You should get yourself Koss PortaPro which is not that expensive or invest in expensive Sennheiser cans if you can afford it. The Koss PortaPro ear cans gives your player the bass you need so you don't have to set the DSP to "rock". Avoid ear phones with volume controls - they only degrade the sound quality. The "3D function" on the player is very strange and should only be used with old 1980's recordings which sounds lame. If you consider buying an MP3 player this one is just fine and it is small enough to fit in your breast pocket!

Summary: This Product is the best
Review: I decided after a lot of thinking to but the Yepp, and I'm glad I did. With the 64 Meg, I fit 22 songs at CD quality sound. The design is great, and even though it doesn't come with USB, the parallel port is just fine in speeed. It's easy to use, easy to carry, and provides great sound at a great price. I like the phone book and the record features as well as the hold button and the different music modes. If your having trouble deciding between players, get this product. One warning though: the Yepp player only is compatible with the Yepp Smartmedia cards, which they overcharge you for.
