Summary: Unbelievable
Review: I want to say that I read the reviews, and went out and bought this device. I had to return to write a review. This product does EXACTLY what the manufacturer says it can do. If people would actually read what it does, IT DOES IT. I must add here that I am in NO WAY affiliated with the company. After reading the bad reviews, and then buying it, I must say the bad reviews are not just. I needed a way to get my MP3 files to play on my brand new Harley Davidson, without adding a new stereo. The bike came with Cassette... This thing really kicks but. ALl I do is pop it in without any wires, and it plays "effing" great. What it is, is that it does not have a interface when using as walkman style, but you do when useing the software, it shows all music, space available and you can organize songs in any order. Very simple and very functional .The software was easy to install, and everything worked the first time. You may have to turn it on or off once or twice to initialize when connected to your PC...Big deal,,,How many times have I needed to reboot my computer in general. I mean in realty, this thing is a very mini computer. I am not even sure if it is the device or Windows. It never took more than once or twice to click on. The thing is you have to READ the instructions. Most people are lazy and think they know it all. I read and did just what it said and had no problems. It is not hard, it has certain steps to take. I am listening to it as I type this and it sounds great. Now, also it does not have tone, or bass controls, but you do not need it. What MP3 player does? The battery is even rechargeable. This technology is so new and for this thing to do what it does, I have to say, I love it....I actually have the AR264 which is a lesser model than the AR300. Anyway, I am running out of space here so all I can say from my point of view, It does just what it says it can do.

Summary: Doesn't work in 2001 Accord
Review: I was excited to see that the Digisette improved from it's orginal design and made a better tape like MP3 player. Unfortunately, on my Honda 2001 Accord, the tape deck won't align properly with the head in my cassette stereo, causing lots of static and distortion. It's not the player itself, because it works fine in my wife's Honda CRV. Actually, it works if I use an old Sony cassette adapter plugged into the mp3 player. Im not an electronic engineer, but I think if Digisette would make the head on the mp3 unit bigger, it would have worked fine. I compared the head of the mp3 to the Sony cassette apadter I had laying around and the Sony head is much bigger. Digisette support was very helpful and had me try a few fixed, but none fixed the distortion and static. As far as the controls and stuff, everything worked fine. Like I said, if you have a 2001 Accord, I wouldn't recommend it.

Summary: Been Waiting for 2 years to buy this type of mp3 player
Review: I was Looking at the Rome player and found too many poor reviews to warrant purchasing it. However the reviews in this site on this device prompted me to look into Digisette. After a little scare with 2nd day shipping (really not worth it) I recieved it. The firmware upgrade to listen to WMA isn't necessary, it supports WMA out of the box. Purchased some Sony headphones to accompany it and Whammo! great audio on the go! Works in my standard Chevy Tahoe tape deck, rew and ff work great! Now to add some of the MMC memory to it and see how it works.

Summary: Perfect Solution
Review: The DUO-64 was the perfect solution to my 1-hour commute. A CD player was too expensive and books on tape are difficult to swap while driving (and talking on the cell phone and drinking coffee...). The Audible service lets me download books and use my drive time wisely. I can also load music from my CDs. There are two minor drawbacks. First, the DUO Manager software is hard to use. It's important to do each step in the right order--start the software, turn on the DUO, then plug it into the USB. When that doesn't work, undo everything, turn it off, press and hold the play button to reset and try it again in a different order. Second, the rewind feature when used on books only allows 2X rewind. It won't rewind faster or skip to the beginning of a chapter, as it will skip songs on a CD. Otherwise, it's a well-made, small device that fits my needs. UPDATE: My DUO failed after about a week. The folks at Digisette were very helpful and I had a new one in a few days. So far, it works well.

Summary: Total piece of (junk)
Review: This device has been an utter dissapointment from the day I got it. (...) It is almost totally useless for playing audio books. None of the the controls work as advertised. It periodically resets to the beginning of the mp3 file and there is no way to fast forward or skip back to where you were. You can't play it in a cassette player with the power adaptor connected. The battery won't stay charged and the connectors are very flimsey. Digisette should be embarrased for releasing this abomination on the public.

Summary: A marvel of flawed engineering
Review: This has one thing going for it: it's small and portable. There's so many other portable players around it's impossible to justify buying this. If you are thinking it will sound good in your car's tape deck let me advise you go buy an economy pack of standard normal bias tapes, they sound better. Specific faults:
1. This thing is dyslexic. Sometimes the right channel comes out on the right ear pod, sometimes the left. This seems to be completely random and is terribly annoying. 2. The volume controls on the unit control the tape head volume. What were they thinking? No, no no! Eject and turn the sucker down to get rid of the distortion in a tape deck? Yes, this you must do. 3. Interfacing with your computer is pretty much like rolling dice. You usually have to force initialize the unit and reload the software several times before they talk to each other. The problem is greatly magnified if you are foolish enough to install a Media Card. 4. If you do install a media card you'll find that using forward/back buttons often is pretty much the same as if you had pressed a "random track" button. No such button exists. 5. The equalization feature is akward. I'd prefer the standard bass boost as seen on most portable CD players. 6. Tying to use rewind/fast forward in a tape deck, if you still persist in using it in one after realizing how bad it sounds, is near impossible. Better to eject and use the buttons just like you did to turn the volume to the tape heads down. This is a very poorly engineered device that barely performs as advertised.
