Review: Had this for a few weeks now and extremly please. The sound quality is excellent although I am using a decent set of headphones that I had with my MD player that it replace and I'm still on my first battery - I use it for at least 1/2 hour a day in in the Gym. I also use .wma so that I can cut and paste them directly in XP rather than be forced to use the software provided. If the ergonomics of it were improved then it would get full marks! All in all a top buy!

Summary: The best of the Muvo and the Mojo combined
Review: I already own a Creative Nomad Jukebox and an MP3 CD player. Yes, the Jukebox can hold my entire collection of MP3's, but I have to use special software to load them, the thing is quite bulky, and goes through batteries like there is no tomorrow. The CD player has a good battery life, but doesn't work very well if you are moving around a lot, and, again, requires special software to burn the files to CD. Looking for something better, I found the 64mb Lyra under $50 at one of the *mart's, so I decided to try it. The player is a little less than the size of a pack of gum. I've used it for about 30-60 minutes everyday for the past 3 weeks on the original battery that came in the box, and it is still going. I purchased a 512mb SD card, so I can listen to all my favorite songs. With or without the card, the thing boots much faster than my old Jukebox and MP3 CD player. It plays MP3's in the order they were uploaded. With the latest firmware, the Lyra will auto-resume on the last track that was playing when you turned it off. It will also show up as a removable drive in Windows, so there is no need to install the software on the CD. The player I purchased already had the newest firmware, but I'm sure there are some in the stores that don't.
I've owned enough portable music players to know to toss the included headphones in a drawer and use my Koss KSC50's instead. I think the headphones have more to do with how a player sounds than the electronics inside. The volume is ok, but difficult to hear over my lawn mower. The display is tiny, but sufficient. Also included is an armband carrying case. The player is small enough to fit in my pocket, but I'd prefer a belt clip so I could access the controls without having to dig it out each time. That's really the only negative that I found with this player.
Unlike the Muvo, the Lyra has a display and is expandable, and unlike the Mojo, the Lyra shows up as a removable drive in Windows. Try pricing the 64MB model with an SD card of your choice and see how it compares to a comparable-sized flash MP3 player. I think you'll find the Lyra is the better deal.

Review: I bought my Rio over a year ago (for a lot more that it costs now) and I done construction, mountain biking and hiking, snowboarding, and it still works great. My Monly complaint is how quickly the price dropped, but at least I can expand the memory.

Summary: Small, Expandable with SD, High Quality Sound
Review: I bought one for my brother on june, it is written in the specifications that it supports up to 256MB SD memory cards. I tried it with Kingston 512MB SD memory card and it works pretty good. After updating the firmware, which is pretty easy when followed the instructions, you can use it as a usb disk, and drag and drop your files and mp3's or WMA's without having any trouble, and it plays the files in the order that you put. Has a nice equalizer, and bass output. Pros: Small size, SD Memory Expansion, drag and drop, recognized as usb disk, Large LCD with easily readable font sizes. Cons: It would be better it it had a Backlit LCD, but still very good for the price.

Review: I bought this for my daughter for christmas and in less thn 1 month she complained that she needed to wiggle the headset plug to get good audio. I disassembled the unit to find that there was poor solder joints on the headset jack. RCA, if you want to keep any reputation, we need better quality from you!

Summary: Good MP3 player...if it doesn't break
Review: I bought this for my husband after a lot of research. One of the buttons stopped working after a month and it was practically useless. CIRCUIT CITY and their lousy cust service told me there was nothing they could do and to call the company because it was covered under the warranty. Surprise, surprise, it wasn't because button breakage doesn't count under the warranty. So they wanted me to cough up another 100 bucks (what I originally paid for the 128 mb model) and buy an extended warranty, bringing the grand total to 200 dollars. Yeah, right. Don't buy this product. If it breaks, you are screwed.

Summary: All a true HARD ROCKER could ask for!
Review: I bought this mp3 player for three reasons. The price, the brand (RCA) and the portability. I hated space eating, annoying, hassling Cd-rs. I had a pile of them, Chris's favorites 1-89. I don't like all artists songs or one genre. I have a top 40 than i get sick of them and make a new cd-r of my new favorites. But with this i just delete and the just drag and drop. This little hand held unit has some BIG sound in volume and quality, all from a single aaa battery. It stores many songs. But the secret is to use windows media player to convert the songs kbs a lower rate. I have all my songs at 64kbs it takes about 1.8 of a mb per song. I can fit mabout 2 hours of music and dont even notice a change in quality. I love it and its well worth the money.

Review: i found the lyra to be extremely easy to use,i've had the 64mb for a couple of months now and have no regrets, except one, i should have bought the 128mb with the fm tuner besides that the sound is incredible. Depending on the quality of music your loading makes the difference of how many minutes of music u can load, 128kbs tunes will get u about 12-20 songs on the lyra but high quality like 320kbs will only get u half of that, but if you purchase an extra sd card than it won't matter, get a 128mb card at least and you'll have plenty of music the whole day.And with the added usb cable erasing and loading new songs is a snap takes about 5 to 10 min. to load the lyra 64mb.

Summary: Look out Mac users!!
Review: I got this product last month while traveling and it worked great when I loaded my first set of music onto it (from a PC). The trouble started when I loaded additional music onto it using a different computer. I can only guess that I attempted to load conflicting file types, because the machine hasn't worked right since. The music comes out 'pixilated' - you can hear some of the music but not the words. It's as if the music is inside out somehow. When I returned home I hooked the little thing up to my Mac and the computer didn't recognize that it had ANY files on it, but the lack of available memory confirmed that those suckers were on there. Imagine my *shame* when I had to bring the player to a friend's P.C. to access the drive and erase the files. To make matters worse, this player apparently will not accept music downloaded/purchased from the iTunes on-line music store. Sign me, "Saving for an iPod"

Summary: GREAT player at great price
Review: I had been looking for an inexpensive player that also had the capability to add extra memory. I do alot of buying and selling on eBay and had been trying to buy a player for awhile but no luck. I managed to snag this one just a week ago and it's been great, even for a used one. The sound quality is amazing for something so small. I did replace the original earphones but only because I do not use the arm band thing and they weren't long enough to keep it in my pocket or set it on the desk. I have 14 songs on it currently and that filled up the 64mb of memory on it. It is also compatible with Napster which was nice as I did not want to mess with installing the software that came with it. XP picked it up and installed it without having to use the cd so that was really nice too. I have also read that Windows media will install to it so if you don't like what came with it, you shouldn't have to use it.
