Summary: The Best Colors and Picture Quality I've Seen
Review: First thing I did when setting this up in our demo lab was to say wow! It has very good features as well as a crystal clear picture. Setting up is easy. The colors are brilliant. I only wish I could afford this for home use. Go to the cnet.com to read about other LCD monitors available, if you like me, can't afford to buy this monitor for home use and still want one. Over all I was very pleased and I highly recommend it.

Summary: Either it is Amazon or Viewsonic's fault
Review: I ordered this on Apr 1, Amazon listed 1-2 weeks delivery. On Apr 20, I asked for status, they say it will ship Apr 21. Then Apr 21 I got an email, it will ship July 14 or something like that due to delay. Amazon should not hold orders that is 3 months delay. I waited a month now with no LCD.

Summary: Really Great Monitor
Review: I studied a lot of reviews and specs on the net and then my wife & I went to several stores and stared at monitors and this was our pick. You have to look at monitors, not buy them on specifications. We saw a few cheaper ones with good paper specs which did not look as good (Princeton Graphics). There were a couple nice Sony and Sharp models that cost more. This monitor is big, sharp and has a fast response time so games seem to work well. I have PCs at work (Compaq)and Macs at home and this unit meets the quality I associate with Apple products. It only has a VGA connector but that works fine for me. The speakers are really good for their small size but you will want something larger for serious music listening. At the price this is a 5 and at any price I would give this a 4 out of 5.

Summary: You get what you pay for!
Review: So far, after having experienced a Cornea flat screen a couple of months ago, I have to say that you truly get what you pay for. This one, by Viewsonic, sure is not unexpensive, but it delivers a huge, crisp, rich picture that I just love! It is also very stable, so it takes a good push to move it by "accident". I have it as the companion to my Tablet PC at work and it doesn't get any better than that. No complains, highly recommended.

Summary: Excellent picture, but...
Review: The ViewSonic VG900 monitor has a beautiful picture. The image is crisp, bright, and colorful. It has an excellent 600:1 contrast ratio. (For those who don't know what a contrast ratio is, it is the ratio of luminance between the brightest white that can be produced and the darkest black that can be produced. It is a major determinant of perceived picture quality. The higher the contrast ratio the better, and not many monitors have a higher ratio than 600:1). The monitor has a slim footprint, made even better for a crowded workspace because the speakers are built into the monitor frame. The sound quality is good for such a speaker arrangement. The picture and sound adjustment controls are conveniently located on the bottom of the monitor frame, and they lead to easy-to-use option menus.

Now for the bad news. After I had the monitor for three months, the colors began to flicker occasionally to produce a pink-tinged screen. I paid a lot of money to ship the monitor back to the manufacturer (there was no service center in my area) and received a prompt replacement. Although the replacement is fine so far, and the unit has a three-year warranty, I hesitate to give this monitor more than three stars since it never should have had a problem in the first place. The problem I experienced with the color flicker might be a fluke, but I caution prospective buyers to take this into consideration when making a purchasing decision.
