Summary: Awesome, in all aspects
Review: I do everything from surfing the web, to games. It is perfectly clear on it's Native resolution and since I normally play first person shooter games, ex. MOHAA, UT2003, and BF1942, there is almost no motion blur at all. It is normally not noticable, but during some fast action DVD's, you can see a slight trail behind the object in motion. Besides that, if you are a gamer or plan on using it for home movies, I would highly recommend the VX900. Great monitor, in a great looking case.

~ I am running it off of a Radeon 9700 pro mainly on DVI, but very little difference when using the Analog.

Summary: Wow...
Review: I got to say, this is got to be the best display on the market. I upgraded from an old 17" CRT, thinking that and 18" LCD was just a small upgrade, boy was I wrong. The amount of space you get compared to an 18" CRT is amazing.

Also, I use my computer as my entertainment system, so I watch DVDs, TV, and play video games all on this monitor. I don't even catch a hint of "ghosting", with this puppy's 25ms refresh rate. I'm even using the analog input!

Anyways, if you have the money to spare, this is a monitor for you. If you're thinking you want something a bit cheaper, go with the VX700, this monitor's 17" sister. With the amount of space I have, I could easily have been happy with the 17".

Summary: Superb monitor and excellent prices
Review: I had a large 18" CRT NEC monitor, which was big and took up too much desk space. I needed more desk space to work properly. After checking out several monitors I decided to purchase the View Sonic VX 900 LCD display and it's an excellent choice. At first I was skeptical because I heard that you have to give up text quality and I work with a lot of text. However, after trying out this monitor I can honestly say that the text is extremely clear and crisp (much easier to read than my old CRT monitor). The colors are bright and beautiful and it's great on your eyes. This monitor was easy to set up--I recommend it hightly. I have not tried the speakers, so I can't comment on the sound quality.

Summary: While VX900 have the best spec but image and feature...
Review: I have been using only Viewsonic monitor for the last 6 years: PT770, and PT775. I was happy about the image quality so I bought a Viewsonic again.

Most people seem to know the advantage of the monitor pretty well. I agree, the image is great. But, it is not close from prefect.

Let's concentrate on the weakness of the monitor. So, fellow shopper can get the whole story.

The "Auto image adjust" is terribly slow. Using analog input, it takes anywhere between 5-10 sec for a image to display if you change the resolution. During the 5-10 sec, the screen is totally dark.

When you're trying to change the screen resolution in Windows, you must press "OK" within 15 sec. It is not unusal that miss the reminding 5 sec before windows fall-back to your old setting. It is extremely anonying if you use a KVM, if you reboot a lot, and if you often try to get into BIOS setup from time to time. (I tried it on at least 4 video cards, all take long time. The problem is definitely not with my video singal.)

Sometimes, you need to do "auto image adjust" twice to get the a shape picture.

With digital mode (DVI), it still take 3 to 5 sec.

My friend samsug 19" LCD, bought recently, pop up immediately when the resolution is changed. (both analogy and DVI mode)

My brother's NEC 15" (NEC 1545M) which is bought 3 years ago doesn't have anonying delay either. It takes about a second for a resolution change.

My sister's got no-brand 15" LCD, the same, it takes about a second. You can manually trigger the auto adjust.

So funny that Viewsonic is the only one who market the "auto image adjust" feature. It either mean their marketing department become totally shameless lately. Or, their other model is even worse about resolution change, so they want people know they have improved on that.

On the other hand, the image on VX900 is in fact over saturated. It is hard to do photo editing. I tried the e-color software that come with the LCD, it didn't help the over saturted situation. The blood red, and skin tone is not reproduced very convincingly.

NEC 1545M has the best color reproduction I ever saw on any LCD monitor. Picture is well saturated and very accurate without overly done. Certainly, it is harder to make a 19" than a 15".

While VX900 have the best spec but image and feature definitely have plenty of room for improvement.

Summary: I am pleased so far
Review: I like this 19" monitor a lot better than my previous 18" Phillips. Mainly, as a Spinal Tap fan would say, because it's 1" bigger.

Seriously, besides being 19" (bigger than 18"), it delivers a bright, crisp, perfect picture. Installation took 10 minutes or less, consisting mainly in plugging a couple of cables at the back of the monitor and then connecting the other ends to the computer and the power outlet. And that was it. Life's been great ever since.

The reason I couldn't afford the fifth star: can't turn the display left/right independently from the base.

Summary: The perfect match
Review: I'm fortunate enough to be able to compare this monitor next to my sony 19" crt, at the same time. I run a g4 ti4600 with twin view. I must say this monitor is impressive for an LCD. It will run neck and neck with the trinitron in sharpness and color reproduction. It's only problem is in gaming. It just can't respond fast enough in action games. I fly combat sims and the ghosting is noticable. In first person shooters it's less noticable. With that said I still give it a 5 for it's outstanding sharpness and good looks. One of the best LCD's I've used.
I will also add that viewsonics tech support is verygood. When I contacted them about a driver update question, they were quick to respond and very helpfull.

Summary: It's not bad but I had to lower the 5 star review average.
Review: I've been a tech for about 10 years now and this monitor doesn't deserve 5 stars. It's not horrible but I had to lower the average review because those people did not know what to look for.

Problems
- The dot pitch is only .28 so reading text is kinda fuzzy. I've seen perfectly clear 17"'s with .264 mm dot pitch.
- There is "pixelization" when watching movies or viewing images. This is probably due to the dot pitch. It's slight but noticable.
- The response time says .25ms but when watching fast paced DVD's or Games I can see "ghost" images which equate it to about 40ms response time. I heard somewhere that it was a hardware issue with the way they built the outerscreen on the vx900.

Conclusion
I researched other 18" and larger screens but none of them offer the quality I'm used to. Be careful before you buy this. Take a dvd like "Blade II" or "Gladiator" to your local retailer who carries this and test it there to see if you like it first. Also view a text or the windows help file so you can see if the fuzziness is ok with you.

Summary: A wonderful display!
Review: I've held off getting a LCD monitor for several years because of the higher price and more importantly the slower response rates of LCD screens (I'm a avid gamer). I took the plunge with the VX900 and I love it. It's response matches my older triniton based Sony CRT monitor but this thing is bigger, brighter and down right beautiful. I believe that this display rivals Apple's awesome Cinema Display at 1/2 the price. You can't go wrong with this monitor!
