Summary: Great Picture, Great Price, No Frills LCD
Review: 8 Minutes from opening the box to finishing the installation. It doesnt get much easier than that. I did get error messages on the Chromaster Program that said Windows already had a more recent version so I Ignored them. I'm running XP-Home with all available updates, my system has a Radeon 7000 Video Card with only a RGB cable (no DVI), and external speakers/sub. Thus, I didnt need speakers or a DVI input or any of the other frills that differentiate this display from those priced much higher. Trust me the 500:1/250cd spec is plenty! When I fine tuned the monitor settings, I've got the brightness control set on 50 (out of 100) and it may still be too bright for my tastes. No dead pixels at all, easy set up, bright display, sharp resolution, what else do you expect??? And, if I have problems, there's always the 3 year advance cross ship warranty from Cornea! Dont procrastinate any longer, order the MP704, your eyes will thank you!

Summary: TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT
Review: After reading the many positive reviews here I purchased this low-priced lcd monitor to replace my old CRT. As soon as having it set up there appeared a sequence of dead pixels, like the previous picture wouldn't go away completely (what do you call that?). What's worse is that everything was SO BLURRED, especially the texts. I was only trying this new monitor for a few minutes and my eyes were already going blind, and I began to miss my old CRT. If it gave me such a pain only minutes after using it, how can I hope to keep it for weeks, months or years? At first I considered a replacement thinking I may have got a bad one, but rereading the reviews-and this time paying attention to the few negative ones, all the negative comments about this product are consistent with my experience. Hours after receiving this product I repacked it and shipped it back for return. Now my old CRT looks so lovely. Bottomline: don't make decision based on the reviews. See for yourself. Thank you Amazon.com for making returns so easy.

Summary: Great bang for the buck
Review: I'm very pleased with my new monitor. I did a lot of shopping around and comparing before I bought the cornea MP704B 17" monitor. I was concerned about the 600 cycle noise that someone else had mentioned. I suppose if it's real quiet and I'm focused on it, I can hear something, but otherwise I don't notice it at all. Dead pixels are always a posibility with LCD monitors, and my guess is that shipping is normaly the cause. My monitor showed up in perfect working condition. Not that it's a real issue. Amazon has such a good track record for customer service that I never gave it a second thought that they would let me return it if I was unhappy. So the bottom line is that if you just want a great monitor without any bells and whistles, this is the one to buy. it has a sleek look. I also like the fact that the screen is almost as big as the monitor itself so there is not a very big frame around the screen. I suppose this could be considered a drawback if your one of those people with 15 post-it notes stuck to your monitor.

Summary: Excellent Product
Review: Just like the other reviewers, I was skeptical to buy a monitor on-line at first, given the likelyhood of having dead pixels and not being able to return it as easy as you would a locally store bought one. However, I was pleased to find no dead pixels at all. Picture quality is excellent and looks great on even the most demanding games. [...] Take my advice and buy this monitor, the features it offers are unbeatable for the price point it falls under. Don't be scared off by the few bad apple reviews given by the types of people I mentioned previously. Don't pay for the marketing costs incurred by big name companies, instead save some of your cash and by a quality LCD! Hope this helps those who needed convincing.

Summary: Fuzzy and blurry
Review: Beware of planted reviews by this shady company! Go to any CompUSA store and check out their Cornea monitors on display. I've been to three stores and found all the demo units extremely fuzzy to the extend of being unreadable. The salesmen then steered me to other brands. So before you go for an off brand like this, check it out in person first. All the reviews here sound suspiciously rosy for a terrible brand like this.

Review: Poor display quality with annoying flickering and blured texts.
Also, why having the trouble for an monitor installation CD?

Summary: Great Buy, But ...
Review: I just received my Cornea MP704 17" LCD monitor and, WOW!, what a beauty. It physically looks great. It has the same "real estate" (viewable area) as a 19" CRT. The colors are vivid, the eye-strain is non-existent (read: no flickering!), all pixels seemed to be working and it was an incredible bargain (... for LCD monitors).

Waiting for the other shoe to drop?

OK, here are my complaints:
* The sharpness is not quite as defined as my 19" (non-LCD) monitor at work. There seems to be a slight "fuzziness" around the pixels.
* When watching videos containing fast action, there seems to be a bit of "ghosting", a delay in the previous lit pixels from changing, creating a small amount of blur of movement. (This is common with LCDs.)

My biggest complaint WAS a "hum" induced in my computer's sound system. However, within 24 hours of leaving a message with Cornea's tech support I got a call back and a solution. (Added a ground drop to the monitor's AC plug.) I've since edited this review, giving it 5 stars instead of 4.

Bottom line? If you're looking for a very good flat panel monitor (and good tech support) at a great price, look no further than this item.

Summary: Good monitor when you get a good one
Review: First I'll say right off that the Cornea customer service knocked 1 star off the rating all by itself. If you have to deal with returns, it can be a laborious and time consuming process. The Cornea folks are nice, but their system stinks. I bought 2 of these for a dual monitor setup. One was fuzzy and "blinked" (can you imagine anything more annoying than the screen turning off for a full second or two every few minutes??). So I got all the prior approvals and sent it back. They sent back to me the same monitor unfixed. Frustrated, I got the ball rolling again. About 6 weeks after my initial purchase I was sitting in front of two very nice LCD monitors.

Monitor Quality
Because I have two of these, I probably have a somewhat unique perspective. For instance, I can see how the color cosistency is not perfect. One looks "yellower" than the other. It's not really noticeable until you have huge blocks of white one on each screen. This is probably normal.

Adjustability
This monitor comes with one standard analog input. Which is great for those without DVI outputs on their video cards. So it should connect to just about any computer without problems. One monitor adjusted fine with the "Auto" button. Very easy. The other took a careful manipulation. This could be a result of the video card more than the monitor. Regardless, with some patience, you have so many adjustment options you can get a crip image by using the non-auto adjustments.

Native Resolution

Native resolution (the number of physical pixels on the monitor) is 1280x1024. Plan on using this resolution. Anything else will result in a fuzzier look. And the native resolution is SO sharp you won't think twice about it.

Summary: Excilent LCD!
Review: ...P>I was instantly impressed by the brightness and contrast of the display, just perfect. I was so amazed, I bought 2 for my dual-monitor setup (GeForce 4600 Ti)!

They both have worked flawlessly for nearly a month now, no dead pixels, etc. Games play wonderfuly at ALL resolutions from 640*480-1280*1024, and there is no hint of anything that would detract from image quality.

Another thing, they produce very little heat! I used to have 2 CRTs operating all the time (with another occasionaly), and combined with 2 computers, they heated up my room prety quickly! It became unbearible several times durring the night. No such problems with these LCDs. They produce very little heat, and my room temp has gone down on average.

I also used to get headaches from my old CRTs, but not anymore with these nice LCDs!

Also, they are black, none of the beige garbige. Although, my beige case is now screaming for attention, as it looks sorta out of place (where did I set the dremil??) :D

My only complaints: No DVI input. While not all graphics cards support it, it could provide better image quality.

Short cables, although a little trival. The supplied cable was about 6" too short for one of the monitors (It wouldn't reach!)! I tried an extention, but that resulted in severe ghosting and poor image quality, so I bought a 10' cable which works ok (a little ghosting, but that is because of the bad cable), but I still need to order a quality 10'cable, which will run me around $18 (I'm a graphics fiend, I want good picture quality).

I may also add that I have 2 other LCDs (NEC and GEM, I think), and my two Corneas beat the pants off them both ;) I now have a very jelious family :D

Summary: Excellent 17in LCD for the price
Review: I have tried Dell 17in (which was good, but had to return because of dead pixels), Proview 17in (not so good, it was just fuzzy, could never get it to adjust, returned), Sony 15in ...), and finally this Cornea 17in MP704B. First, I couldn't believe the price and rebate so I was skeptical about the quality. Then I ... ordered it. And sure enough, ... It was excellent quality, and how can you beat the price with [the] rebate, ... I think it also has 1st year replacement warrany as well. What a deal! ...
