Summary: Fantastic monitor
Review: First, you can see just how attractive the monitor is to look at. The thinly framed screen screams high-end monitor, and this display fortunately also delivers high performance. This monitor works with both analog and DVI, it and comes complete with both cables. I use DVI and the screen looks fantastic at the native 1280x1024 resolution. Photos are lifelike, and text is crisp. The screen has a very wide viewing angle, but there is some color loss as your angle away from the monitor gets worse and worse. You can adjust brightness levels with a quick touch of the "Magic Bright" button on the front of the monitor. I almost always leave mine on "text" mode which softens the brightness of black-on-white text.

Another very high selling point to this monitor is that the AC cord is built in. Most flatscreen monitors have an external power adapter in the form of a huge black box that sits on the floor. This monitor has the power source built into the back of the monitor, so hookup is very easy and space saving.

All in all, I couldn't ask more from a monitor. I went back to the very nice, ultra-crisp 17" CRT monitor I used for 5 years and I was amazed I had been using it for so long. The screen that once was one of the clearest on the market was dull, fuzzy, and I felt eye-strain almost immediately. So, if you're reading this on a CRT screen, do yourselves a favor and upgrade to this monitor. Flat panel technology + DVI Cable + Samsung = A fantastic value you'll love for years to come.

Summary: Fantastic Monitor
Review: I had been checking out the reviews on LCD monitors. I was going to purchase a Samsung 172t, but it was replaced with the 173t which looked to have even better features. This is my first LCD monitor. The quality is stunning. Photos look great, and more important, text is super crisp and sharp. Even DVD movies look excellent on this monitor. Its a double thumbs up. Not all LCD monitors are alike. Samsung makes some of the best ones out there. You can't go wrong with this one.

Summary: BEST MONITOR IN THE WORLD
Review: I just got one today.
This Samsung 173T is the best monitor I have seen so far.
Its 17" LCD, with horizontal and vertical lanscape. So when you are doing word processing, it is easier to do with vertical than landscape.
It has Analog and DVI input. Both cables are included. My graphic card supports both, but I use analog. Because when I try to use DVI, my screen blinks every 5 seconds, but when I use analog, it does not blink.
Anyway, I had 19" CRT monitor before, and 17" LCD is almost equivalent to 19" CRT.
There is no dead pixel on my monitor.
My rating is 4.5, but I see no 4.5, so I give 5 out of 5 to this monitor.
