Summary: Excellent Monitor
Review: Received the 1550V-BK a few days ago. Hooked to a Dell 4400 with a 64MB N-Vidia card. Excellent color rendition. Brighter than a 1530V we saw in the store. Very clear. Very even backlighting. Some other reviewer said it looked washed out from the side, all flat panels do. But viewed straight on it is outstanding.

Summary: Great monitor and Great service from Amazon!
Review: This cool stuff is enough for me. I play the AOE2 on it. It looks so nice, especially for the rich color. And the small font is crispy, at least I am very satisfied with it.
Push this one if you are going to buy a LCD!!

Summary: Great Monitor for the Price.
Review: This is a great monitor for the price. I got this monitor for someone who needed a monitor mainly for word processing and browsing the web.
The default resolution is 1,024 x 768 pixels (and it won't look very good at any other resolution). NEC recommends setting the screen to this resolution, and then making the system type size larger - and that works fine.
I wouldn't recommend this monitor for graphic designers or photographers only because the color seems to change when viewed from different angles. Also, the colors don't seem to be uniform from one side to another - it's just like a laptop monitor (if you don't need color accuracy, then this isn't an issue).
And lastly, the monitor itself looks really cool (I purchased the black one), and you can push it back to free up your desk space.

Summary: Excellent
Review: This is my first LCD monitor and I love it. It is a huge improvement over my old 17" CRT monitor--the colors are more vibrant, text is much more legible, on-screen controls are comprehensive, and the 75Hz refresh rate reduces my eye strain. Plus, it's frame looks great and it takes up so little space (and gives off so little heat--unlike my old CRT monitor, which could replace a wood stove). And its wonderful to have a monitor I can carry in one hand.

Summary: not bad so far
Review: This is my first lcd monitor. So far I've had no complaints, its a stunning looking monitor, especially since I got it at such a good price. Huge improvement from my old crt monitor, it saves so much room on my desk. I was waiting for the price to drop down to a respectable level but when it appeared as a gold box item, I jumped on it, . I would definitely recommend it.

Summary: Bright, good picture quality, bang for the buck
Review: This is my third LCD monitor and this is byfar the best. I've always had a harder time with LCDs, which always appear duller than CRT monitors. But this one is sharp as an arrow, crisp, and BRIGHT. The frame is barely visible, so it takes lesser desk space than by older Dell (you'd see more of the frame than the picture on that one)! I loved this so much that I've replaced my office monitor with exactly the same unit. I've also noticed that NEC seems to change model numbers fairly often, so check out your favorite auction site just in case you're buying during one of those model number transitions. Recommended more than a StarBUCKS coffee, a good movie, and a whatever else you really like. You cannot go wrong with this.

Summary: Best Monitor Ever
Review: This is simply the best monitor ever, and it is such a value at the prices it is selling for. It's a space saver and the graphics and screen quality are simply amazing for the [low] price. I was doubtful at first, but decided to take a chance and buy it on Amazon.com. Am I glad I did! I'm using it right now and it is simply the best monitor ever, despite the negative reviews it has received in the past. I encourage everyone to buy this, you won't regret it.

Summary: Great Resolution and a real space saver....
Review: This monitor has excellent clarity and range of viewing. And of course, the size (or lack thereof) is tremendous!! I've actually managed to get my desk back! It was simple to install and setup on the computer. The only drawback is the resolution. 1024x768 is great for normal operations in Windows but the monitor gets a little unco-operative when you switch to a game that uses a different resolution. It still operates, but you can tell it doesn't like it. Overall, though, it's a great monitor!

Summary: Views from LCD land
Review: This should be the newest 15 inch LCD in the NEC/Mitsubishi line up. I believe it is replacing the 1530V.
I just hooked up my NEC 1550V, and man does it look good. The text is razor sharp, and the display contrast is brilliant right from the factory. The monitor auto adjusts upon installation, so little user input is necessary. I played Return to Castle Wolfenstein on this monitor and the graphics were gorgeous. The detail of the weapons was exquisite. Default resolution is 1024 X 768 @75hz. LCD is the way to go. Don't deprive your senses any longer. Order today! Summary: Great monitor at a great price!
Review: This was my first flat panel monitor and I purchased it based on the reviews of CNET and it's customers, plus it looked cool.
My first impression of the monitor when I open the package was that the pictures did not do it justice. It looks FREAKIN SWEEEET! The view was a lot larger than I expected for a 15 inch. I connected the black monitor to my new Dell 8200 with the nVidia 64MB GeForce4 ti-4200 and had no trouble during setup. The resolution automatically optimized itself. The controls panel is easy to use. Text is very clear and DVD's and games experience no "ghosting". I also use it to edit photos and it works well so far. I have my monitor set to half brightness so contrast is not a problem. Great monitor at any price.
