Summary: This is tight
Review: I just bought this monitor and have had it for less than a day. I just thought I'd write a review since I have nothing better to do. Overall, I think this monitor is tight. I got it from here and it came very fast. Also, there are no dead pixels, which is a plus. Gaming looks great on it, no ghosting. Thus, the response time is very nice. I only gave it 4 stars because I know for a fact that there are better ones out there (the super high end ones that are $1,0000). I recommend it to anyone looking for a new monitor.

Summary: Excellent!
Review: I ordered this monitor last week and when it arrived today I was amazed. This is my first LCD monitor and I will never go back to CRT. The monitor is extremely light and arrived with no dead pixels. Even on my four-year old compaq with Voodoo 3 video, the image quality is superb. There is no distortion, the onscreen menue is easy to use and it is extremely bright. I would highly recomend this monitor to anyone looking for an inexpensive LCD. Oh yeah, the price can't be beat!

Summary: Great Value, Surprised by Quality
Review: I ordered this product strictly because I wanted to save space on my desk and it was one of the cheapest flat panel monitors available. I was expecting something somewhat small with a less than perfect picture. This monitor is 10x better than my old one and is so much better on the eyes. The pictures are crisp and the color seems perfect. My only suggestion is to make sure you reduce the bright control when you get it, they have it set to be full bright.

Summary: Just what I wanted
Review: I searched all over for a lcd monitor that would save space on our desk at home and not drain our bank account too much. The NEC Multisynch 1550V is just what I wanted.

It may not have the super high-end resolution of other monitors but I really don't need that for basic writing, surfing, presentations, etc. The price was right and the black model that we bought looks great sitting on top of our black IBM NetVista. Everyone who comes into our home office comments on how great it looks and then notes how crisp and bright the pictures on the screen appear.

Set up was a major pain, but after many hours I deduced that the issue was a glitch in the Microsoft Windows ME operating system and NOT a problem with the monitor. A visit to the Microsoft tech support page ultimately provided the instructions to fix my system.

I would buy it again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good looking, easy to set-up, space saving and basic everyday use monitor.

Summary: Nice Monitor but mine was defective
Review: I was very pleased to find a good quality flat screen at this price point. However, after several months of ownership my monitor has become defective and I'm in the process of sending it back to the manufacturer. I have owned several other monitors in the past (both CRT and LCD) and I have never had problems with any of them except this one.

Summary: I'll never go back to a CRT...
Review: I'm just your average every day user - no fancy stuff here, but I love this monitor! The view is outstanding and the price is right! It takes up about a quarter of the desk space of my old monitor and it's so light, moving it is no problem. I highly recommend it - especially if your desk space is limited.

Summary: Other than the defects and Amazon's return policy...
Review: it's great. Long story short. Bought monitor early December as a gift for my husband. By the time holidays were past and monitor was discovered to be defective, we were no longer able to return. Instead, we must go through NEC. They sent us another monitor to replace it. This one was also defective - 2 pixels burned out on the screen. Apparently there is a 7 pixel policy so we are unable to return to NEC. They sent us back to Amazon who refuses to do anything about it. You may be thinking 2 burned out pixels isn't so bad, but when you are working with graphics 10 hours a day they become a constant irritation. BEWARE - do not buy online. You will be stuck with less than desirable merchandise. Instead, help out your local dealers. Not only will they appreciate the business, but will be much more likely to go the extra mile to insure customer satisfaction.

Summary: Works great, looks great. What more could you want?
Review: It's hard to ask a whole lot from a monitor. Does it look good? Does it perform well over long periods of time? That's about as deep as it gets.

This NEC does both flawlessly. Looks very clear, as most LCD's do. I've had this monitor now for over two years, and it's as good as when it was brand new. Not one pixel is off color or flawed. No weird flickers or odd behavior. It just works.

Pretty boring, but I think that's what you want from your monitor.
