Summary: Quite impressed - David beats Goliath
Review: I purchased this LCD on a hunch that it would be semi-decent, and the price was too good to pass up. I ended up getting a super-clear, light monitor with a beautiful picture and very strong brightness. If you're cost conscious, I really can't recommend something better in terms of bang-for-the-buck. It replaced my Sony Trinitron CRT as my monitor of choice for its ease of use, picture quality, and lack of desktop footprint -- all of which is saying a lot. Definitely worth the purhcase.

Summary: Envision 15" LCD Flat panel
Review: I recently purchased Envision 15" LCD Flat panel. Big dissappointment! The back light of this monitor was completely off. On the top the screen was very dark and on the buttom too bright. There is no way to adjust the back light to evenly illuminate the screen. Sent it right back!
WHAT YOU PAY IS WHAT YOU GET.

Summary: Envision 15" LCD vs. Envision 17" and 3 CRT's
Review: I recently upgraded my Sony Triniton CRT Monitor to the Envision 15" LCD Flat panel. I compared many brands and even bought a few to try out at home because of the 14 day return policy at the two retail stores I visited. Amazon's prices were either identical or cheaper and I would have definately bought through them if I had known which monitor I wanted in the beginning (It was much easier to return the ones I did not want here locally). So here is the low down. I tried the following monitors at home: Envision 15" LCD, Envision 17" LCD, Philips 17" Flat screen CRT (CRT=Cathode Ray Tube, which means its just like a regular TV/Bulky Type of monitor), Viewsonic 17" Flat Screen CRT and my Sony Trinitron CRT that had nothing wrong with it, but I just wanted something new. I also compared all the major brands of LCD's in the store: Viewsonic, Samsumg, KDS, NEC.
I choose the Envision 15" LCD because it offers the best bang for the buck. Here how I broke it down:
1. The Envision 15" LCD had the brightest Display other than the Envision 17" (which was only marginally brighter)
2. Text was extremely clear (Just be sure to run it in its native resolution of 1024 x 768 at 75Hz
3. Very simple to hook up-I was up and running in 5 minutes
4. Viewing angles were great even though some of the reviews stated otherwise.
5. CRT's put me to sleep after a while due to eyestrain. I can surf all night with my LCD without a yawn.

If you need a larger screen-The Envision 17" is a great choice, but cost $200 more. For most applications (I use my computer mainly for surfing the net, typing email, spreadsheets, and word processing) I found the 15" more than fine. I paid ... for my 15", which is only about ... more than I would have paid for a decent CRT. I think its well worth the extra $$$. I also gained half of my desk back. I am extremely satisfied with this product.

Summary: Loved it!
Review: I replaced my 4 year old 15" CRT with this new LCD. I will admit I was not willing to spend $ for the top of the line since I figure I will be buying a new computer in about a year. All I can say is WOW! This monitor is fabulous. Sure, it took some getting used to with the way the colors play out on the screen. In fact, the colors are so vivid it almost hurts to look. I can live with that. It takes up no space on my desk. Hooked up in just 2 minutes. Highly recommend this one.

Summary: Really worth the money
Review: I was absolutely thrilled to connect my new flat panel monitor. Color was so improved compared to my four year old screen and it was a piece of cake to hook up. Space wise I have gained another work space.

Summary: Couldn't be happier
Review: I was having computer problems and was expecting to have to replace my PC and when I was able to fix the problems, I decided that I had just saved a bunch of money-- thus justifying purchasing a flat panel monitor. This one happened to be on a big sale with a rebate so I was prepared to buy it sight unseen.

However, when the store I went to was out of them, I looked around at a bunch of flat panel monitors at several stores before finding it at another branch of the original store, and I learned that flat panels were not all created equal, as I thought they might be. Most of the cheaper ones had muddy pictures in stark contrast to the crystal clear ones that the more expensive ones had.

That's why I was so thrilled that this model, the least expensive monitor I saw, had a picture equal to those double the price. It takes up very little room and took no time to set up whatsoever. I suppose I can't speak for the longevity of the product, but after a few months, this is the nicest monitor I've ever used and was an absolute steal.

Summary: Quite exceptional 15" LCD Monitor
Review: I will admit that I figured a little 15" monitor would severely lack the visual appeal I was after. However, after receiving the monitor and using it for a couple days I am very pleased with my purchase. I also use a 17" CRT monitor on my system, allowing me to perform direct comparisions. I am floored by the dramatic improvement on sharpness, color and contrast with the LCD. Text is crystal clear and very sharp and my desktop background, filled with bright oranges and yellows, screams to life with this LCD. I write on the web a lot, and this monitor does a great job rendering my textual writings.

This LCD offers a 1024x768 maximum resolution, putting to sleep other CRT 15" monitors by quite a long shot. I can sit back in my chair and pick up the LCD very easily, turn it around and flip it over without hesitation. Although I'm not in the habit of playing with my computer hardware, it's nice to know that I can. This monitor is more than worth the price, and I'd GIVE my 17" CRT away before I'd SELL my 15" LCD. Definite A+.

Summary: Great buy - needs a little work to fine tune
Review: I've been using mine for about two weeks now. Looks great (although not as nice as the...digital flat panel it's next too)- some colors tend to be a little on the light side, but I would not even notice if I wasn't on a dual monitor system.

The "auto" adjustment works OK, but I found that with some manual adjustment of the Focus, clock, and H.Position I can get better results - really crisp and clean. Spend a few minutes playing with these settings - if you don't like the results, you can always push the "auto" button!

Update: It's been a few months now. Still like the monitor!

Summary: Best monitor I've ever owned!
Review: I've owned at least 15 monitors over the bast 18 years, and this is easily the best. I bought it 8 months ago and like it more everyday. Best picture ever and not a single problem. When I use somebody's old style monitor, I like this one even more. You also get the viewing equivalent of a 17" monitor on this flat screen...
