Summary: Exceptional flat panel value
Review: The moment I fired up this replacement monitor for my home system I swore that I would never purchase another CRT. Although being tied to the "optimum" resolution of 1024 X 768 is restrictive, everything looks so good that I don't mind. I've paired the unit with two high-end video adapters; 3Dfx VooDoo 5 5500 and NVidia GeForce3. In each case, the only quality degradation comes from blocky dark colors during DVD playback via WinDVD. The screen looks beautiful with Windows XP and quite attractive on Windows 2000. Video games look fantastic, but must be played at 1024 X 768 to not appear distorted.

I purchased this model primarily because of its price. The unit's design, size, and the inclusion of the power trasformer in the casing were all contributing factors. I'm also very pleased with the brightness of the diplay, even with ambient room light.

I would suggest downloading the INF and color correction files from NEC for the monitor from http://support.necmitsubishi.com/software.htm. This will replace "Plug and Play Monitor" with the monitor's actual name in the control panel in Windows 9x/Me/2000/XP. It will also limit the possible resolutions and refresh rates.

Summary: Happy Camper
Review: The NEC 1530V is an absolute winner. Price, image quality, footprint, ease-of-use, you name it. . . I use a Radeon 64MB DDR video card which allows me to set the monitor at the recommended resolution: 1024 x 768. Any lower resolution makes the image look pretty ugly and the monitor shows an annoying warning sign which keeps popping up saying you're not using the optimal resolution. The auto adjust function is excellent!!! Just press one button and the image fits automatically and perfectly within the screen. The on-screen menu is very intuitive and easy to use (I still haven't even touched the instructions manual).

One drawback: you can't regulate the monitor's height or swivel it. All you can do is regulate the angle or remove the arm and hang it on the wall.

Nevertheless, it's the best purchase I've done.

At this price, don't bother looking into other brands . . . Not worth the effort. You can't go wrong with this one.

Summary: It's time for an LCD monitor!
Review: The time has arrived for LCD monitors. The price is now right and the quality is definitely up there. I have been quite pleased with this monitor. I carefully compared it with others in the store and was impressed by the sharpness of display and the vivid colors. When I got it home I was delighted with the DVD experience this monitor provides - quite a bit like 3D! Of course, like all LCDs, this one is amazingly lightweight and it takes up such a small amount of desk space. Over the next couple of years I expect LCDs to largely supplant CRTs in the home. I give this product four stars, reserving five stars for the much more expensive units.

Summary: NEC MultiSync LCD 1530V, Fantastic Value
Review: Think you still need to wait for those 17" LCD displays to fall in price? Think again. I have always loved my 15" SuperXGA+ LCD (1400 x 1050) display on my notebook because it gives me a "big" monitor feel in a small package, but this monitor is much brighter and just "feels" better on my eyes. Tack sharp text, amazing color saturation, small desktop footprint, and NEC quality make this display a real value. If you are in the market, this one deserves a look.

Summary: You Get What You Pay For
Review: This was the most affordable flat monitor I found here at Amazon. The instructions suggest that you use the highest screen setting. Since I won't stray from my 600 X 800 resolution settings, the clarity is not perfect. However, I'm not sorry I made the purchase because for the money, it's not a bad buy. The clarity issue is not enough to prohibit you from having a problem with things like graphic or photo work but it is a bit light even though I've placed the settings as dark as they go. This is a good product for people who don't need intricate detail but want a light weight flat screen that takes up a ton less space on their computer table.

Summary: Not going back!
Review: What a handsome, stylish, black LCD. Feather-weight too--only 10 lbs!

Took us seconds to first situate our first LCD on our desk, then switch to 1024 x 768 setting, & wah-la, before your eyesappears a sharp-looking 15" monitor that display more like a 17" one. The control buttons are easy to operate, with its sturdy base(unlike other LCD's that I've tried my hands on) allowing screen-tilt-movement with just 2 fingers.

Definitely not going back to the conventional monitor!

This addition to our start-up business venture complements really well, as ours is a typical medical office with limited space.

We're now considering a second purchase for our SOHO. LCD is definitely the future that has arrived. Thanks, Amazon.
