Summary: Samsung 151S is OUTSTANDING!
Review: If you find the text a bit blurry all you need to
do is hit the auto button and all will be well. It
usually is the refresh rate, which in my case needed
to be 60Hz. No Problems what-so-ever! And no dead
pixels! The graphics look fantastic. An excellent
monitor. ...

Summary: simply flawless
Review: If you're looking for the best no-frills 15" LCD, the Samsung 151S is probably it. I checked out a huge computer mall in Taipei (NOVA), and I must have seen at least 10-15 different LCD models, including NEC, Viewsonic, Eizo, and several no-name Asian brands. The 151S stood above the rest with the most vibrant and natural looking picture, and also the most aesthetically pleasing exterior. Once you have the right settings for the "Image Lock", the text is so perfect you'll be wondering why people pay extra for a DVI interface. There is really nothing bad I can say about the 151S, which truly amazes me because I am usually incredibly nitpicky about monitors.

Review: Purchased this monitor last year. Noticed that it is not as crystal clear as a CRT, but this is true of all LCD screens. For the price, this model kicks. Check out reviews on computer sites also.

Summary: Incredible bargain
Review: The 151s is a fantastic flat panel monitor for the price. Of all the 15" monitors I looked at, this one had by far the best picture quality and has some of the highest ratings (from CNet, etc.). What was really surprising is that the 151s was still one of the cheapest 15" monitors I could find.

Out of the box it may need a little tuning to make sure that text doesn't come out blurry; I had to try a few different settings to get it right. I also have the monitor hooked up to a ViewSonic ViewBox so that I can watch TV. The settings I have for working on my computer are a little less than ideal for the TV image; some TV images are a little dark. However, even then the 151s produces a sharp TV picture.

Overall, a great 15" monitor if space is a premium.

Summary: Review for the Samsung SyncMaster 151s
Review: The Samsung SyncMaster 151s is my first flat screen LCD monitor ever. It is very light, too. It's only about 9 pounds.

From what I've seen here, I am very impressed with this monitor. The screen is very bright and sharp, and the colors are amazing. There is no ghosting or any dead pixels with this analog-only monitor. DVD movies, games, and the text look impressive with the SyncMaster 151s. Setting up the monitor was very easy.

The buttons are funky. They look weird, and they are on the right side of the monitor, in a vertical fashion. The only thing this monitor doesn't have is a DVI connector, which would give you digital video. The base is slighty unsteady, also, but it's not a big issue at all.

With the SyncMaster 151s, you get excellent service and support. Samsung's website also has the latest drivers, manuals, and product registration. You will receive a three-year warning (which also includes the backlight).

Pros:

· Bright, sharp display with rich colors.

· Excellent tech support, with a warranty of three years.

· Wide viewing angles.

Cons:

· Lacks DVI connector.

· Slightly unsteady base.

Overall: 92%

Conclusion: If you are looking into joining the flat screen LCD wagon, the SyncMaster 151s is the perfect monitor for you. Gamers will actually be impressed with the analog-only monitor. No ghosting, no washed-away colors, no dead pixels, no problems.

Summary: Lots of flaws
Review: This is not only the ugliest-looking LCD monitor you'll find on the market today, but has one of the worst image quality measures. The pictures have shallow contrast, are not bright enough, and sport washed-out features. The viewer angle is absolutely terrible -- you can't see anything if you deviate more than 20 degrees from the center of the screen, in any of the directions! The controls don't make any sense, and the manual is not written in English. To add insult to insury, there's no customer support -- good luck if something goes wrong!

Why anyone would buy something so bad like this is beyond my comprehension. To that fellow in Taiwan: you guys make tons of great LCD monitors, and you rated this five stars? You must be working for Smsung.

Summary: A Great Value
Review: This monitor was my first excursion into the LCD market, and I am not disappointed. The image quality, sharpness, and brightness rival any CRT and the contrast is decent. Compared with the laptop monitors I've used, this Samsung is somewhat harsher on the eyes as it is more crisp. Of course, if you're using Windows XP, you'll want to use its ClearType font smoothing. In terms of latency, I can see no difference between this screen and a CRT. The Auto Adjust button is great for quickly setting up the screen's geometry. While the footpring is small, the base is slightlly unstable. Also, my monitor has a dead pixel in the middle. However, what matters most is image quality, and you will be exceedingly pleased with this LCD.
