Summary: very nice monitor
Review: I just bought this a few days ago. I think it's awesome. The image quality is superb. Since it's flat-panel, it saves alot of your desk spaces too.

Summary: Nice Replacement for Your Bulky 15"
Review: My wonderful Sony Trinitron burnt out after 10 yrs. and it was time to move on to the flat-panel-age. After seeing several other KDS monitors in the workplace and being pleased with the image quality, I decided to take a chance on the Rad-5C and I was not dissapointed.

I'm using it with a Mac G4 and setup was easy and straightforward. No drivers to fiddle with, just plug in all the cables and you're ready to go. The computer will find the monitor and set up the perfect screen image in terms of hieght and width.

You will have to push a few of the buttons found on the right hand side of the frame to correct the contrast, brightness and colors, but once you get them right, which is fairly easy, the image will be correct and true to life.

Image quality is good to very good. Text and images are sharp and colors are very acurate. The image is also nice and bright which I didn't see in other monitors of this class. But if you go below the native resolution of 1024 X 768 images and text will appear smudged and chunky. Ok for writing a letter, but you won't want to go below native resolution when working with your digital photos. My only complaint about image is the way that, depending on how you are sitting, the top of the screen can appear darker than the bottom and vice-versa. When doing any image correction on photos or video, you'll want to be sitting as close to center of the screen as you can.

The speakers on the side of the monitor are rather weak and a bit tinny. Better speakers would have been great to watch movies with.

My reasons for buying a flat panel where increased desk space, lighter piece of equipment, less radiation emission, and less consumption of energy. Combine this with very good image quality, and elegant design, it's a great monitor for the price and you won't be dissapointed. But act quick because the price seems to have jumped a few dollors since I bought it!
