Summary: Problems After Warranty of 1 year
Review: DON'T but it! I bought an HP home PC almost two years ago, which included an F50 monitor. The monitor itself has great clarity and color and a nice aesthetic quality as well. The problem is a horizontal line of pixels burnt out about 1 1/2 years after I bought it. So basically I have a horizontal black line running dead center throught my monitor. When I called HP Support they told me my monitor needed to be replaced. I find this unacceptable after only a year and a half of use.

Summary: I LOVE this monitor.
Review: Hoo boy, where to start. This monitor, while a bit pricey at first was a great buy. It is very bright at the highest contrast and has a nice auto adjust function. When first setting it up, it was very off balance at different resolutions, so I pressed the auto adjust key. It works wonders. I like the included functions and would buy it a gain if given the chance. Th real letdown was the max resolution of 1024x768. I can look past that knowing I will never se anything higher than that. Very worth it.

Summary: Ive never liked HP...
Review: I don't own this moniter myself, but I used it for a while at my friends house. When I first used it, I didn't think it was a flat screen, because it wan't any brighter or sharper than any other moniters. When you stare at the text and the pictures you can read it, but theres nothing really special to it. The bad part is when you scroll. When your scroll down, all the text, pictures, ect...become VERY blurry. It just looks like a big blob. If your a person who likes to scroll and read at the same time (like me), than this isn't the right moniter for you.

Summary: Problems After Warranty of 1 year
Review: I purchased this monitor at Micro Computer, Santa Clara California in October 2002 along with a Hewlett Packard computer. I did not purchase any additional warranty as the monitor came with a 1 year guarantee. At the time this monitor was priced at $649. In June of 2004 the monitor screen intermittently went blank for periods of 1 second to more then 1 hour. I tested the monitor on another computer and it exhibited the same problem. HP customer service had me bring it to a Radio Shack store that received moved it to the HP repair center. The monitor was returned 2 weeks later without repair. I was told by HP that flat screen LCD monitors are never repaired. So the net result is that the monitor lasted only 1-1/2 years. I complained to HP and they have offered me a $175 dollar credit towards a new monitor which will cost $379. My complaint is that the guarantee is much too short at 1 year on an expensive part that cannot be repaired. They need to offer a reasonable minimum life of 3 to 5 years.

Summary: HP f50 Monitor
Review: I was really impressed with HP's f50 LCD monitor. I had just about talked my client out of purchasing an LCD monitor at all when we came across an HP desktop system featuring the f50. The text and graphics looked sharp and the color output was excellent. One thing--make sure to adjust the resolution to it's highest setting when you get the monitor home.

Summary: Get it!!!
Review: I went to Circuit City and bought this moniter along with the hp deskjet 3820 printer and the hp pavilion 752n tower. They all came as a set and I have to say I loved it. There was a reviewer who said that the text and pictures get blurry but trust me, they definitely do not do that on my computer. I really like flat screens and hp computers so this was a treat for me. It's a little pricey but absolutely worth every cent.
