Summary: Good performance for the price
Review: I was on a budget when I bought this monitor, and though it isn't nearly the best 19" out there, I was pleasantly surprised by how well it performs. For the price, you get very good picture quality. For those on a budget and looking to move up from a 17" monitor, give this one a look. My only gripe would be that the screen reresh rate could be higher, but it is quite adequate. Other than that, I give it 4 stars.

Summary: This monitor blows!!
Review: If you people think this monitor is unbelieveable...you're out of your minds! It was the worst monitor i ever laid eyes on (it almost hurt my eyes to look at). The picture quality had the same resemblence as a television screen. Go figure! And don't waste your hard earned money on this 1982 Zenith color television!

Summary: Value for your money
Review: No Need to Pay More for a decent monitor. No thrills but an excellent picture quality. I have been sing since Xmas and have had no problems. Play DVD movies, Games no problems. Besst $.. ever spent. Buy it for a bargain.

Summary: Do not buy.
Review: One of the features is "1,600 x 1,200 maximum resolution at 75 Hz" - if I try to go above 1024x768 the monitor starts making noises and lines go up and down the screen - it sounds like a bomb in an action movie or something. I tried 1280x1024 at 60Hz refresh and it still didn't work. I've tried everything and nothing works.

Summary: A lot of bang for the buck - BIG, clear & bright!
Review: Since my old Sony CPD-200sx is on its flickering, dim way out, it was time to replace it. It had been a workhorse, accompanying us in several moves since we bought it in 1996. Our main concern at this point was cost since almost any monitor out now would meet or exceed the quality of our six-year-old original.In the end, price won out ... The Envision's long, three-year parts and labor warranty appealed to us as well. With technology's prices plummeting as they are, it doesn't pay to spend big bucks on something like a monitor, not when it's liable to cost only half as much in a year's time. And I sure wouldn't buy an extended service agreement on one! In comparing these monitors side-by-side at the store, I found the display on the standard CRT much brighter and clearer than that of the same monitor boasting a flat-screen display. The .25mm dot pitch is comparable to several like-priced units available; and the display menu is easy to use and offers a lot of customization, including color temperature choices. Once I got it home, it set up easily and blew me away with its quality. The text is ultra-crisp and the colors are terrific; I have the bright set at 70 and the contrast to 100 and it seems perfect. I'm very pleased with this monitor!

Summary: Its ok, poor black level and a little noisy
Review: The black level is the worst feature of this monitor, its very dependant on the level of contrast/brightness and how much green tint I get in the black, and how much of the screen is black, the more black the whole screen the greener the picture, I've tried altering the various levels to get a suitable pic, but so far nothing outstanding, keeping the contrast at 100% and the brightness at 70% gives you a slight white cast, but keeps the green tint out, anything lower and the green tint starts to creep in. Its slow to come on when switching modes. The menu is fully feature with trapezoid, rotation and pincushion support. Screen is not flat obviously for the price, but its not too bad, the unfortunate design of the monitor itself makes it look more curved than it is, a flatter case would have helped. Convergence is ok, and the overal focus is ok, not tight enough for semi/pro graphics work, but its not aimed at that market, its not consitent enough, drift was quite a lot at the edges. The electrical noise coming off it is a little higher than some monitors, again a cost issue, it doesn't interfere too much with my neighbouring monitors. I gave it a 2 because of the black level, which is the worst feature of the monitor, switching black levels depending on the amount of contrast coverage is very off putting. The price is the only reason I didn't give it one star. Even at the price, I don't think I'd buy a second one, which I had been looking for, there are smaller (17") trinitrons to be had for not much more, and I'd prefer display quality over size. I'd recommend it for a second display or people just web browsing, not for doing art work or long working times (10+), the resulting images would be too washed out, due to the high brightness levels. At 1280x1024 it starts to fall down, its still pretty solid but the poor overall focus and convergence really starts to show up, 1024x768 85hz seemed to best mode for it, crispish black on white, white on black is a little fuzzy. Ghosting and crawl is minimal at 1024x768 85hz, even on a switchbox ( belkin omni with $50 video cables), which is better than I'd expect. Windows correctly detects the various modes the monitor handles so it appears DDE complaint. All in all I don't think you'd be overly unhappy considering the cost, it performs as expected for the price, if you want decent black levels you'd be buying a trinitron anyway.

Summary: Good monitor for the money
Review: This is a good monitor for the money. Color is very good, controls are easy to use. The only negative I have with this monitor is a little focus degeneration on the top and bottom, other than that I rate this at a 4+. I would not hesitate to buy another one. It is a nice upgrade from the 17" Cybervision I have been using although the 17" is still being used on my second pc. I would have bought another Cybervision if they were availible locally.

Summary: Great Monitor at a Bargain Price!
Review: This monitor is a great buy. I loved it the moment I brought it home, its so light! At 44 pounds its the lightest CRT I've ever carried (the heaviest being 65 pounds a backbreaker). The clarity it has is pro quality in my point of view and the text is super sharp at 1024x768 and lower, it becomes a little fuzzy at higher resolutions. The only real problem I had was the picture was a little off in the right corner other than that its a bang for your buck. Brightness at 70 seems to be great and contrast at 100.
