Summary: Top performing monitor at any price
Review: Buying a monitor over the internet isn't an easy task. Unlike with other computer components that are decided based on function, a monitor is picked based on it's appearance. If you run dual monitors, such as I, buying two of them is twice as hard as buying one! I did my research on monitors before selecting the Samsung 955SL, but none of this research could point me to the ultimate affirmation to buy. I couldn't rely on user opinions because they were both good and bad. So I did the obvious thing.. I took a chance on Samsung, and I'm happy to report that I'm 100% satisfied with all aspects of this monitor. The colors are vibrant, the contrast is clear and robust. The critical part for me was the sharpness, and in this category the 955SL is just about a perfect device. I have not seen a sharper monitor from any vendor at any price. I'm thrilled with this purchase, and both of the 955 SL's sit proudly on my desk. I can look at these monitors for hours and hours without problems, and they are priced at the low end, not the mid or high end. If you have been considering this monitor, consider no further. It won't let you down. Just keep in mind that you'll need a quality video card to get the best from the monitor. I run dual VooDoo3 2000 cards and they really like this monitor too. You'll also like the onscreen controls. While a bit complex, they have some really great adjustments such as "Clear Moire" and "Focus" just to name a few.

Review: I've been using computer monitors for a while, but since i'm fairly athletic, i was constantly annoyed by looking at the monitor! (even though my monitor(s) were easy on the eyes "short term ") I was also frusterated cuz I had to carry around some eye glasses for long terms, I considered buying a monitor, but those usually run steep, while browsing on amazon and the net, I found the Samsung 19IN/18.0V 26MM 1600X1200 68Hz Syncmaster 955Sl Ultraclear High . It's the coolest, brightest I've ever used! Images are clearer and brighter. People say it'll say that all monitors are the same, but really, it isn't. The easy menu feature is easy to navigate, as is the phone book. 5 thumbs up While taking up less space than a traditional 15" monitors, the bad news is that the Deflection is low about 100° ... :)
