Summary: Great monitor - for everything except games.
Review: I have had this monitor for six months now and have found it
very good (I even watch TV on it (suggest getting the add on box from viewsonic for this, I tried a tv card and resonse time was too slow, picture would pause for a second about once a minute since it couldn't display in native resolution, my card only supported 800x600 resolution for tv signal).
The response time may be a bit too slow for games that run in lower resolutions (monitor native is 1280x1040). Stand adjustment is very simple and hookup and setup are also. This one is agood value even though prices for LCD's have gone up a bit lately. Have used this monitor with win98 and XPhome, driver for XP is superior. For a lightweight LCD this model is very sturdy and has clear/easy on screen adjustment features.

Summary: Great Monitor
Review: I purchased this monitor after looking at dozens of others - including specs, technical reviews, etc. I'm not sorry that I did. The LCD VG191B is great. I debated for quite awhile as to which monitor was best given the cost vs. screen viewable area. The Viewsonic 19.1" is by far the best buy for the money. Graphics, and especially text are crisp and clear - but only after I installed the Viewsonic drivers for the device. Don't use the plug and play driver provided by Microsoft. The Microsoft driver will let your LCD work, but it won't be as crisp and clear as it can be. There is a significant and noticable difference with the ViewSonic drivers for the VG191B.Bottom line - great price and awesome LCD for computer geeks everywhere who want lots of viewable screen area and are looking to get into the flat panel arena.

Summary: awesome monitor
Review: I purchased this monitor for work and play. I was worried spending so much on a monitor. It is worth every cent. After researching others I decided on this one because of price and reputation. The thing I like the most is that with the drivers you can view pages in either lanscape or portrait mode. And it is easy to adjust the monitor to either viewing direction. I also love that there is absolutely no glare even with bright lights. The graphics and colors are very vivid and vibrant especially with high graphic games.The main use mine gets is for spreadsheets which show up very clean and crisp. I love this monitor.

Summary: Get the Viewsonic VX900 instead
Review: I work in a small office and we have 3 brand new VG191b's along with one VX900 and a couple of 20" VX2000 monitors. With our 3 VG191b's there are varying degrees of flicker/flutter on the screens. With 2 of them the flicker is a minor annoyance, but on the third monitor the flicker is downright maddening. We installed the Viewsonic drivers, tried swapping out the video cards, replacing the cabling, but nothing improved the flicker problem. We're using the analog interface rather than the DVI, but I wouldn't think that should cause such a noticeable problem. My recommendation would be to buy one of the older VX models instead. We have had absolutely no problems with them.

Review: I've had this monitor for a year now. I have to say, it's the best monitor I've ever used. The response time is good, the picture is supurb when running in its native 1280x1024 mode. Like other LCD's, text will be a bit fuzzy if you run in a different resolution. Some flat screens tend to dim if you look at them at a different angle, but not this one. The picture stays nice and bright from most angles. It has both analog and digital inputs. I recommend you use a video card with a DVI port as the picture is even better. However, even in analog mode this flat screen is great. I haven't had a single problem with this monitor so far and I'm thinking about getting another one for my second computer. A comparable CRT monitor is cheaper, but the andvantages of a good flat screen monitor make it worth the extra money.

Review: This is the Nicest, most beautiful LCD screen I have seen to date. I was scared to purchase an LCD screen because I like to play PC games and was worried the screen could not respond fast enough. ViewSonics VG191b has a fast response time. Games are superb! I also was worried that the text would not be as crisp as my large Analog CRT monitor was. Worries are gone. This LCD has excellent crisp text and is easy to read for hours. Also my photos are a joy to view. In conclusion: You just cannot go wrong with this 500:1 contrast ratio, fast response time, Digital or analog interface, and plan beautiful looks.
