Summary: For best performance without any foot print,I suggest ATI
Review: I have already read one customer opinion which he think a little foot print on his NEC1530V. Yes, I agree with him. When I first buy this product, I also find this problem that this LCD have little foot print with my display card Voodoo Banshee. After one month compare with different display cards, Finally I find the Answer which is with best performance , We must use ATI display cards! My system is NEC1530V+ATI RAGE PRO TURBO(4M SGRAM/230MHZ RAMDAC) . JUST TRY THIS , YOU WILL FIND THE UNBEATABLE DISPLAY EFFECTS!!

Summary: NEC MultiSync LCD Masterpiece
Review: I have had this monitor for about one month now. I can't believe how the colors look on this screen. It is like there is nothing seperating your eyes from the color. You are not looking at a glass screen, you are looking at pure color.

Its hard to describe. Just trust me on this. You will NOT be disappointed with this monitor. ...

Summary: Good value in an LCD display
Review: I think this display is great. It's got great image quality, great contrast, a wide viewing angle, low latency and a small footprint. I've had mine for a month now and I have not seen one flicker.

Setup was a breeze on my PC. I just plugged it in and it worked. No special drivers, hardware or other setup nonsense was necessary on my system. It quite simply worked out of the box. Of course, your mileage may vary.

I think this monitor has got all the advantages of an LCD monitor -- with none of the disadvantages. This is a quality display from a quality manufacturer. And this quality is evident as soon as you lift it out of the box. The quality continues as you hook it up and turn it on. In fact, everyone who has seen this monitor work on my PC has mentioned how nice it is. I have to agree. I'm very happy with it.

If you are looking for an entry-level LCD but don't want to skimp on features or quality, I think you will be happy with this monitor, too. It's not the least expensive LCD you can buy -- nor is it the most expensive. But, in my opinion, it's a good value.

Summary: Definitely a winner!
Review: I wanted an LCD monitor to add to my SOHO business on a desk with very limited space. Since I am used to CRT monitors of 17in and above I was a bit hesitant to go for a 15in LCD monitor.

To my pleasant surprise I found that 15in LCD equals 17in CRT monitor in viewing size.

Now, comparing this to my other 17in CRT monitor (a Samsung SyncMaster 750s): * The screen size is approximately the same (the viewing area of this monitor is actually 15.1 in which is less than 1/2in smaller than the "17in" CRT. So it actually feels like a 17in !!) * The dot pitch in 0.3mm, slighly greater than my CRT monitor which is 0.24mm (H) and 0.14mm (V). However, there is no noticeable difference! (Unless you position your head less than 2ft from the screen). * There is a slight noise when you move any Window (I am running Windows2000) with this LCD monitor. This noise is absent in the CRT monitor. * The appearance, weight, footprint, and screen controls in the LCD monitor blow away my CRT monitor * The picture quality is in this LCD monitor crisper and the color saturation better than my CRT monitor

In summary, this monitor exceeded my expectations. I am very happy with it.

Summary: Crisp and Clear
Review: I was thrilled at the price of this monitor, but more importantly I am thrilled with its performance. The colors and picture are crisp and sharp, and it only takes up a few inches of space on my desktop. I highly recommend this monitor.

Summary: Good monitor for the price
Review: My comments after using the the monitor.

1. On scrolling through a page fast using the scroll bar, the text appears elongated and stretched out (this happens only for a fraction of a second).

2. Totally black portions of the image do not appear black if there is no external light.

3. Motion pictures appear good. Only in dark areas does it get blocky.
On comparing this monitor with Envision/ Samsung / Viewsonic, the text quality in this is the best. Before purchasing a LCD monitor the text quality is the main thing to focus on. The photos and images look pretty in all the monitors. The Viewsonic picture is good, but you can see a black border on the display at top and bottom.

4. Controls are easy and simple to operate.
Overall a good buy.

Summary: No complaints with the 1530V 15"
Review: One of the nice differences over a CRT monitor is that the 1530V will auto size the screen to the edge of the frame - and I mean right to the edge - there is no wasted part of the screen that is not viewing area. I think this is possible because it is truely 100% flat - which eliminates any chance of distortion.

I have not used the controls on the monitor since it was purchased - it was just plug and play. And it is also a little brighter than even my Dell Inspiron portable display. I have no complaints and nothing but praise.

Summary: almost great
Review: The good - nice looking package. Lightweight. Easy to setup. (No need to RTFM other than to find where the connectors are...lol...) Windows 98 and Windows 2000 Server were quite happy with it. (98 shows the monitor model, 2000 just "plug and play monitor")
Sharp picture. Nice colors.
The bad - quality control. Two pixels are ON all the time - a bright green dot in the upper right quarter of the screen and a blue dot in the lower left quarter. So I'm sending it back in the hopes that this defect is a fluke. (...)
(...later): Yes, the replacement was fine. I'm happy. Most people will be too (unless you're the type who thinks CDs sound inferior to vinyl and solid state amps sound inferior to tubes...)

Summary: Exceptional flat panel value
Review: The moment I fired up this replacement monitor for my home system I swore that I would never purchase another CRT. Although being tied to the "optimum" resolution of 1024 X 768 is restrictive, everything looks so good that I don't mind. I've paired the unit with two high-end video adapters; 3Dfx VooDoo 5 5500 and NVidia GeForce3. In each case, the only quality degradation comes from blocky dark colors during DVD playback via WinDVD. The screen looks beautiful with Windows XP and quite attractive on Windows 2000. Video games look fantastic, but must be played at 1024 X 768 to not appear distorted.

I purchased this model primarily because of its price. The unit's design, size, and the inclusion of the power trasformer in the casing were all contributing factors. I'm also very pleased with the brightness of the diplay, even with ambient room light.

I would suggest downloading the INF and color correction files from NEC for the monitor from http://support.necmitsubishi.com/software.htm. This will replace "Plug and Play Monitor" with the monitor's actual name in the control panel in Windows 9x/Me/2000/XP. It will also limit the possible resolutions and refresh rates.
