Summary: Best Bang for the Buck
Review: For the money, this monitor is superb. I bought this as a replacement for an older IIYAMA AS4314UT 17" that I had for a while. The X9G beats it like a red-headed step-child (I resemble this remark)
Mine had zero dead pixels, is incredibly bright, and the built in USB hub is nice. I'm running it as primary disply, using the IIYAMA as my secondary, Dual displays are incredible! The amount of space taken up by 2 lcd's is infintesimal compared to 2 CRT's.

Plusses: It's BIG! Brightest LCD I've seen. The colors are as vibrant as far as my unprofessional eye can tell. Response time is great! Zero ghosting while playing FPS or Action movies on DVD. Text display is extremely crisp, coming through the DVI connection.

Minuses: I'm a bit put off by the depth of the thing, sure its "only" 3 and a half inches, but I was expecting something a bit thinner. The speakers on it are worthless. This is compared to the Logitech Z560's I own, but the audio quality of the built in speakers is equivalent to a laptop. The on screen controls are very lacking. Granted, I've yet to HAVE to use them, but if I were to need to, there are very few options. Lastly, the design is uninspiring, Sceptre decided to make it appear bulbous. I'm not sure if this is a functional or aesthetic, but I don't like it much.

Overall, I'd highly recommend this display...

Summary: Finally, a monitor I can read!!!
Review: I had become so used to the resolution and readability of the LCD screen on my laptop that I was extremely relunctant to go back to a CRT with a desktop ... but the larger LCD screens are still a bit pricey ... except for this one. The resolution and brightness of this monitor is fantastic. This is the first time ever that I have been able to sit back at a "normal" distance from my monitor and actually read text without difficulty. I'm pleased with the quality of photos, dvd movies, and other graphics displayed on this monitor.

Summary: I think it is great for the price.
Review: I have owned it for 2 months. I purchased it at Sam's Club where they have a 6 month, no problems return policy. It cost like $540. It was much cheaper than comparable monitors from Best Buy and other stores. A pivot monitor like this is very hard to find and when you do they are much more money. I have the Model: X9G Agamma III. Everything works great, installed great, no problems. I think the picture quality is awesome!! I don't use the computer though for high end graphics use though like games.

Cons: the one year manufacturer's warranty is poor, but you can buy an extended warranty at Sam's Club which are very cheap. Also, the speakers as you could of guessed are very weak.

Summary: We are returning them...
Review: OK, it lacks some of the features of higher priced 19 inch TFT monitors, but THE PRICE. WOW, you can't beat this price with a stick. Plus the brightness and speed of the screen refresh make it great for graphics (gaming, graphical design, DVD playing, etc.)

If you want the big monitor but don't want to pay an arm and a leg get a Sceptre.

Summary: A great Value
Review: This large 19 inch Lcd is a great value for the money . Sure , it lacks some features of higher end Lcds ( such as panorama view and the ability to adjust the monitor up and down ) , but WHO cares ? I have NO dead pixels and because of the super fast response time , Dvds play exceptionally clearly . One of the worst features here is the ONE year warranty ( most Lcds come with a 3 yr warranty ) , and the design is uninspired . Overall I have no regrets on this purchase and would recommend Sceptre to others .

Summary: Cool Monitor, Crappy Warranty!
Review: This lcd monitor fascinated me enough to go out and buy it. I hooked up the monitor with the shortest cable provided ever known to mankind, to the back of my pc, loaded the software to pivot the screen and let er rip. As I familiarized my self with the monitor, a few quirks came up. Yes you can pivot the screen (real neat) to view web pages in portrait mode, however scrolling is not eliminated as claimed by the product description/review. The picture is clear with a image contrast of 700:1, but nowhere in the manual does it state what the dot pitch/pixel pitch are? I guess one has to guess? The warranty and repair policy on this product just plain sucks. The warranty manual states the following: "In the event that your product is no longer made/obsolete, Sceptre will "repair" the unit with similar parts of equal value (picture a chevy corvette with a chevette hood) "If a similiar part is not available a charge my be incurred to the owner for any upgraded part/subsitute" SEE EXCLUSION #6. "SCEPTRE DOES NOT WARRANT BURNT PIXELS..PERIOD" I called Sceptres customer service to find out if the warranty covers a burned backlight, which can be one of the most expensive things to fix. Unfortunately I could not get a straight answer, and therefore have decided to return the product from where it was bought. Call my crazy, call me cynical, but a 1 year warranty, that doesnt fix burnt pixles, nor possibly a burnt backlight, is just unnacceptable. I shall be purchasing a Samsung 193v lcd that comes std with a 3 year warranty that will fix/replace anything with no questions asked. Heck Samasung's customer service rep's told me they would ship out a replacement even before you sent them yours!

Summary: Ok overall, good deal for the price
Review: This was my first LCD monitor and overall I was happy with it...until it stopped working (DVI then analog) after about 2 months. Now I have to pay to ship it back across the country in the hopes that I'll get it fixed in a timely manner. Sceptre's customer service is marginal. I'm using the monitor with an ATI 9600XT card on the DVI connection. As others have mentioned, I am able to detect some ghosting using this monitor while playing Quake but it's not real bad (I'm not a big gammer). Overall, it is a nice monitor and a big improvement in picture sharpness/quality than the CRTs I've used. At this point I almost wish I could take a refund and opt for a Sony, or at least something with a better warranty than the 1-year on the Sceptre. Assuming yours doesn't stop working it's a great monitor for the sub-$600 price.
