Summary: Don't purchase because you can't get the NEVO
Review: Hi Folks,

The big problem is that Viewsonic calls this a Home Wireless solution. If the NEVO doesn't come bundled with the airpanel then you can't get it seperate. I have tried endlessly to get this option. Don't purchase. Find another solution.

Summary: great product!!!!
Review: I beleive this product does exactly what it has always claimed to do. the grips I read are small ones that I dont expect this item to do. The price has dropped to an acceptable level for a product like this. I bought mine for $350 and then called Viewsonic and got my Nevo control add on for free, just a minor 15 bucks for shipping and handeling. When this product first came out it was 1200 dollars...alittle steep..now its a steal of a price.

Summary: Nevo available from ViewSonic Parts dept.
Review: I purchased a ViewSonic V150P off of E-Bay last week. I E-mailed ViewSonic's tech support and they told me that Nevo units were still available through the parts department while supplies last. I called the ViewSonic parts dept at (800)688-6688 and they still have them in stock as of 7/27/2004. I was able to order one for the cost of S/H (<$20) after they verified my AirPanel serial number. The Nevo unit itself is still free to AirPanel customers. Given that Nevos on E-Bay are going for over $500, this made me very happy and I have nothing but good things to say about ViewSonic.

Nevo has been discontinued by ViewSonic in favor of the MPlus solution that comes with the MPlus V210 Bundle.

My primary issue with the Smart Display right now is lack of updates from Microsoft, including the patch that is supposed to be in Windows XP SP2 to allow concurrent console and remote desktop access on the same Windows XP PC and range problems in my house. The smart display seems to have less range than tablet PC's and laptops that I have tested here. I also don't like the fact that streaming video doesn't work correctly over a full fledged 10 MBit network. If it streams from the internet at less than 3 MBit, it should be able to stream to the Smart Display. But this is a Microsoft issue. The Viewsonic product itself is great.

Summary: Confusing passwords between pc and unit; Not NEVO workable.
Review: I'm disapointed, because it's not easy to set up installation. Connection to one of my computers depended on some "codes" of access, one of wich was easy (setting up a code to each user logging in Windows). The other one was almost impossible to me, and it worked in one of my computers and not in the other.
The MAIN DISAPOINTMENT, tough, is the FALSE afirmation that it could run as Remote Control for all appliances in the house. Viewsonic and Nevo says that (Nevo even has some sites showing it) but NEITHER ONE of them gives you or sell you the IR adaptor anymore. So forget it. You can't use it as a Nevo Remote Control. I bought for that purpose, so that's why I'm giving bad review for this product. I'm having some fun with it, but I'm not in the MOOD to tell that.
