Rating: Summary: Compaq's FP7317 Monitor Review: Step up to this monitor! This true 17" viewable LCD monitor is sharp, clean, and surprisingly sleek is a nice value for a flatscreen.Having received it just yesterday (Christmas), I'd had a Compaq CV-535 15" CRT. There's absolutely no comparison to the difference of what you see OR what you get! It comes with a disc for installation, but it's completely plug and play! I never used the disc, but to find out what was on it, but drivers, and the operation manual (with freeware of Acrobat!) The easy control panel is on the bottom of the screen. Open the menu with the left button and scroll with the vol+ or vol- buttons. So easy to use! It is energy star efficient as well! There's a full clock on it, with a timer, if you want it to sleep at certain times and wake up at certain times, so you dont have to wait for it in the morning to check your e-mail for instance! The only negative thing about it is the speakers. Being not as large as Compaq's JBL's hang on types, it would behoove you to purchase an inexpensive sub-woofer for the full range experience. Otherwise, they work, but are a little tinny.
