Summary: Super Monitor AND a Low Price
Review: I had previously purchased the Samsung 760 and was really disappointed with the the resolution. I returned the Samsung and purchased the Envision through Amazon AND what a difference. 100% better than the Samsung and $200 cheaper too! I have Windows 98 and in a previous review someone stated that XP makes it even better - can't wait to try it out.

Summary: My new EN-7100 LCD versus my old 19" CRT
Review: I bought my EN-7100 in December 2001. I used it to replace a Dell 19" 0.26 pitch CRT Monitor. I use my system for a lot of fine text and graphical work. Not gaming, not video work.

Installation was a breeze. Worked right out of the box, no problems.

So how did it compare???

If you are expecting the resolution to match your CRT, you'll be somewhat disappointed. Since I watch my monitor 10+ hours per day, the lower resolution was immediately evident. But the performance was very much acceptable.

I think the big question you have to ask is if you want to have on your desk a 60 lb monster with unbeatable resolution or a very small footprint LCD that works just fine, but not quite as good as the old monster.

For my money, the switch was worth it. Yeah, the resolution is somewhat less but after a couple of weeks I adjusted and can't think of a time when I've wished I had my old tube back. The really nice thing is that I have regained a third of my old desk space.

Just to reiterate, You won't find the performance of any LCD to be a direct replacement for a good quality CRT, but for me the trade off of slightly lower resolution was well worth the regained desk space.

Hope this helps.

Summary: Skeptical at First
Review: After reading other reviews of this product, wasnt sure if buying it was the right thing to do .There was a 50/50 chance that I might have some problems with it .
Now that I have just got done hooking it up,Iam very pleased with what I have purchased, and for the price that I paid.
This monitor is to my belief to be well worth the bargin price compared to others I looked at.
Iam pleased with it and think you would be too!

Summary: Review of reviews
Review: I found most of the glowing reviews to be well founded, but I also agree with one of the negatives. As pointed out in another review, this monitor is definitely NOT for action games. Lucky I don't use mine for games. The refresh just isn't quick enough. You will also notice this in scrolling. However, I had no dead pixels as one reviewer mentioned, and I can see mine clearly from extreme angles, as opposed to another reviewer's comment. If you get one, and it is not as it should be, return it. I was prepared to do so, but I am happy to say that I'm hanging on to this sweetheart. Great monitor, clear, sharp and bright. My only complaint is they have dropped the price again. I should get a rebate, you think?

Summary: Have NO fear, this is an excellent LCD
Review: After shopping, comparing and researching until my eye balls almost fell out of my head, I purchased the Envision 17" EN-7100. At first I felt guilty about spending big cash to replace a perfectly functioning 17' monitor. Now that I have set it up, I am very happy with it. It looks really cool and I was able to throw away my bulky computer desk, freeing up some space in my apartment. There are two unnoticeable dead pixels, but they are in the corners of the screen. Regardless, I highly recommend this monitor. I will write again in a few months to report if it stands the test of time. ...

Summary: This Is The One!!!
Review: My wife and I both have PCs in our respective home offices. We upgraded our monitors to size 17" about 4 years ago: she with a Nokia 447E and I with a Panasonic S17. We were happy with these monitors, but they were bulky and getting older, so we decided to upgrade again: this time to 17" LCD monitors (about an inch diagonally larger picture than 17" CRT pictures).

I began checking out all available LCD monitors online, reading the editorial and user reviews for each. Price was a consideration, especially since we were planning to buy two of them, but our prime motivator was to get the best value for our money. We listed the attributes we wanted in our new monitors and I matched that to a list of the available LCDs, then pared the list down to five monitors that would best satisfy our desires. My final list included the Envision 7100e, which was the lowest-priced monitor of the five.

My wife and I compared and discussed the specifications of the listed monitors. We were concerned that we might be giving too much credence to the 7100e because of its lower cost (in some cases several hundreds of dollars lower) than the other listed monitors. Additionally, we were not sure the 7100e would have a high quality, esthetically pleasing appearance when viewed on our desktops, and we were concerned about "dead" pixels. I checked some of the local computer stores and none of them had the 7100e in stock. We decided the 7100e represented the best value, but ordered only one monitor so we could evaluate it before ordering another.

Our 7100e arrived and I quickly set it up with my PC. Setup time took less than 10 minutes from box to complete installation including hookup, driver installation, and a change from 800 x 800 to 1024 x 768 resolution. The Auto Setup mode made setup a cinch. The result is an attractive, quality monitor with a bright, sharp, flawless appearing display that rivals those of our previous CRT monitors. This monitor exceeds our expectations and is SUPERB! We quickly ordered a second 7100e and it is equally as good as the first one. We encountered no "dead" pixels on either monitor. The Envision 7100e is a winner on almost any desktop!

Summary: Excellent monitor at a great price!
Review: My monitor arrived yesterday and I couldn't be more pleased! The picture quality is perfect, and there are no dead pixels.

I was concerned after reading some of the reviews here about the length of the cable to the power adapter, and though it is short, it's not as big a deal as it's made out to be by some people. The power adapter is small enough to be tucked away behind the monitor and you'd never know it's there.

Summary: Wonderful Flat Panel Monitor
Review: I got this monitor today. It is so easy to setup. My operating
system is Windows98. I found 1024 by 768 pixels setting is the best, very sharp, very clear, no any shadow at all. Before I ordered this monitor, I had walked through [a local store]in which the price of all other 17" flat panel monitors is higher at least $100.00, but they are not sharp as this. I really enjoy this monitor.

Summary: Great LCD Monitor
Review: I have dealt with a lot of LCD monitors. From Touchscreen to normal LCD monitors in a variety of sizes. This monitor has a great image quality and very bright picture. I bought two of these monitors and installed them in an office environment that had other (more expensive) LCDs...the owners were impressed with not only the quality, but also the price. DON"T BE AFFRAID TO GET ONE!

Summary: Great price if it works...
Review: Great looking unit, great price. Didn't work. I tried various resolutions but the screen would turn blank after 2 seconds regardless, even though the power indicator remained green. Tech Support was pleasant but unhelpful. I guess I was unlucky as no-one else seems to have had this problem, but I'm going for refund ahead of replacement, just in case.
