Summary: WHAT YOU PAID IS WHAT YOU WILL GET....AND MORE
Review: GOOD -
1) REASONABLE PRICE
2) GOOD STYLING (ESPECIALLY BLACK AND SILVER COMBINATION)
3) SUPER SHARP IMAGE (OUTSCORE 400:1 CONTRAST MONITORS)
4) AUTOMATIC ADJUSTING (NO NEED TO TOUCH THE MENU / ADJUSTING BUTTON)
5) NO DEAD PIXEL (MAY BE I AM LUCKY)

BAD -
1) NARROW VIEWING ANGLE (ACTUALLY IT'S NOT BAD, IF YOU DON'T WANT OTHER PEOPLE SEE WHAT YOU ARE DOING)
2) THE STAND IS TOO HIGH. (HEIGHT IS NOT ADJUSTABLE)
3) REPONSE A BIT LATE (WELL IT DOESN'T BOTHER ME, BECAUSE I DON'T READ WHEN SCROLLING)
4) THE POWER CORD (FROM MONITOR TO POWER ADAPTER) IS TOO SHORT, I NEED TO TAPE THE ADAPTER UNDER MY DESK RATHER THAN PUT IT ON THE FLOOR)
5) CONFUSING MENU BUTTONS (THERE IS A BUTTON FOR FORWARD BUT NO BACK BUTTON, YOU NEED TO KEEP CIRCLING THE MENU...)

CONCLUSION: BEST BUY FOR [price]RANGE.

Summary: Can't beat the price
Review: This is one nice display at an incredible price.
I would definitely recommend it.
A few notes:
1) The stand is a bit high so it stands just a bit taller than
your average monitor would (you cant lower it, but you can angle it down a bit)
2) The aspect ration is not the standard 3/4 of regular monitors
it is 4/5 (i.e. a resolution of 600x800 doesn't work well with this display, your text will stretch). You need to make sure your graphics card can handle non-standard resolutions. (1280x1024 is a good resolution to use)

At 1280x1024 32bit color and a 75Hz refresh rate it looks incredible. A little bit of ghosting effect when doing stuff like scrolling text and moving windows, but it doesn't show up as much in movies and games).

A good buy and it looks INCREDIBLE.

Summary: Geat LCD for a great price
Review: I just bought this...in a special promotion. I bought this because it is Cnet editor's pick.

Now I should say it worth every penny you spend
1) very bright and crisp display
2) auto-adjust any time when you change your computer display settings (or switch between different program that uses different display mode).
3) more comfortable visually
4) very good price - you can find good deals

the bad (not very important IMHO):
1) narrow viewing angle
2) no digital output

Summary: Flat Out Best For the Price
Review: I bought this flat panel based on user recommendations and reviews and I wasn't disappointed one pixel.

It's a beauty and easily [priced]less than anything its equal on the market.

Most monitors at this price have far worse resolution and pitch.

Mine worked perfectly and with zero configuration right out of the box and I'm ready to buy a couple more to replace my other old CRT monitors.

Summary: For the money it's a great deal
Review: No problems as of yet love it

Summary: Superior Quality at a low price
Review: I bought this monitor following a recommendation at cNet.com, and it completely surpassed all expectations. For less than the price of many 15" monitors, the Envision EN-7100e gives you a bright, crisp, and clear 17" display with ultra-smooth animations. The controls are awkwardly located, but the monitor is completely self-adjusting making them unnecessary. The only trick is to make sure you have the correct color-temperature setting. The silver color only makes it that much more appealing.

Summary: GREAT QUALITY @ A GREAT PRICE!
Review: I had been investigating flat panel displays for over a year when I stumbled upon the Envision line. I was leaning toward ViewSonic but after reading up on Envision and discovering that they had won several awards I decided to give them serious consideration. After seeing them locally in stores and finding them aggressively priced I made my decision. I was moving from a 19" DELL CRT which was a real space hog in my small home office. Initially was going to go to a 15" unit due to price but ultimately decided upon the 17" since it provided equivalent viewing area with my 19" CRT AND I found a great price I could justify. I have had the unit for 4 days now and I am extrememly pleased with the quality and resolution - not to mention it takes up so much less space. In some of the local chains it was [higher] but I bought it for considerably less @ Amazon (w/free ship and no tax I might add) ... I highly recommend it (usage is important so FYI, I am not a big time "gamer" - my usage is primarily basic MS Office type apps, Quicken and web surfing and some low level gaming so if you're a big time gamer I can't comment on its applicability for that).

Summary: Outstanding...a bargain at any price!
Review: Based on the reviews I saw here and elsewhere, I took the plunge and purchased this LCD Monitor. The out of the box experience for this monitor is delightful! I had it up and running inside 10 minutes, including downloading the most recent drivers for the monitor. Prior to this screen, I had a 17" CTX CRT Monitor which served me well. Desktop real estate became an issue with that screen, but this screen answers all my problems! I am delighted with the image quality of this screen, as well as it's tiny footprint on my desk! If you're looking for an LCD screen, I would wholeheartedly recommend this one. Based on some of the reviews I read regarding this screen, I consider myself luck to have gotten one with no technical issues like dead pixels, etc.

Summary: It's a compromise, you decide
Review: There is a little banding/streaking cause when something fast happens on the screen. It's really not that bad suprisingly, actually nice, blurs FAST action just enough to make it look good sometimes.

It's really sharp and bright, so for resolution I would give it a 5 out of 5. Installation was incredibly simple and the monitor adjusts itself perfectly on its own except for brightness and contrast (which is always a personal preference). The button placement is on the top and people have complained about it. Please people, there are only 3 buttons you use when adjusting it, it's not like it's behind the thing, it's really easy to tweak.

However, if you're a gamer, or a graphics user (like myself) you will not like this monitor. There is a brightness change from top to bottom, the top seems darker than the bottom, pretty annoying if you're all about graphics, but for anything else it's perfect.

Not for hardcore gamers (unless you just care about sharp images to aim at, then this does it EASY), and DEFINITELY not for professional graphics users.

It gets a 3 out of 5, personally, I can't stand the brightness change. Maybe I'm fickle... but it's going back in the box to be returned. I'll spend a little more for a more consistant image.

Wow... this thing can display contrast... and no dead pixels... too bad it's not for me.

Summary: This Monitor is Great
Review: Just recieved this monitor today. Setup was incredibly easy. Just snapped the monitor into its base, plugged it in, turned on my computer, fed it the driver disc, and I was done. The monitor auto configured itself, I'm running it at 1024 x 768, and the picture is great. Its bright, sharp, and I can look at it from virtually any angle, and the picture is still good. I love it!
