Summary: Not suitable for graphic design. Plus problems.
Review: I purchased this monitor in January 2004, started using it within a few months from then, and was somewhat disappointed with the quality. Adjusting the vertical moire canceler setting helped quite a bit, but the quality toward the left and right sides of the screen was still unsatisfactory.
Today, 9/27/04, I turned on my monitor and discovered that everything had multiple fading shadows to the right. The shadows are most noticeable with black on white, but they are always there no matter what the contrasting colors are. Sorry for that lousy description, but I don't know how else to describe it.
After some testing and a couple calls to NEC (to make sure that the problem was the monitor), they informed me that I have two choices: they can repair my monitor, or replace it with another -refurbished- monitor. I would also have to pay for shipping to them. I cannot get a refund with NEC since I ordered it from Amazon. Instead, I'm hoping that I can still get a partial refund from Amazon (I should have an answer by tomorrow), and use that toward the purchase of a more reliable non-NEC monitor with better reviews. Or, maybe I should get the refurbished replacement and then sell that on eBay :-/

Summary: The best in its class.
Review: I was shopping around for a 19'' monitor to replace my Dell flatscreen 17''. I stopped by in BestBuy and CircuitCity a couple of times just to check out what I should expect from a 19'' monitor, in terms of size and picture quality. And then, I read some of the reviews in amazon.com for this monitor, before finally decided to order one from amazon.What can I say, this monitor is first rate. Color is accurate. Contrast and brightness quality is excellent. The black color suits my Dell PC and keyboard perfectly. If you are shopping around for a 19'' CRT monitor, get this one. You won't regret your decision.

Summary: Don't believe your eyes
Review: Just a week ago I read a polarized reviews of this monitor asking myself which opinion to believe. At the end I was stupid enough to make a decision based on the professional look and average high marks. It was a mistake. The screen is realy bad. I used to order computer hardware for the company I worked in and saw lots of good and bad CRTs. This one looks like a cheep "Business" series of other brands. Terrible moire on the left curable only by 100% h-moire correction, which on the other hand makes it a bit blurry. It looks like you can actualy see the crt mask. Every line is comletely separate. Every black dot has a colored side shades. Don't beleave your eyes. This screen looks very professional but it's not.

Review: This monitor seems to be working fine for my G-4 PowerMac. It needed quite a bit of tweaking out of the box but has since performed very nicely. Good refresh rates (I'm working at 100mhz mostly because I can and because its easier on the eyes) and nice deep colors are the strong points for this monitor (along with the price). On the down side, the aperture grill is a bit more noticeable with this monitor than I'm used to. For high-end graphic designers and hardcore gamers you may want to look into other options.
