Rating: Summary: Worth Every Cent!!!!!! Review: I just recieved my MP3 Player and I just figured out I used it for 4 hours!!! Whose the idiot that told me not to buy this? This is the best MP3 Player ever.
Rating: Summary: Don't buy this.... Review: Fortunately, Amazon was good enough to refund my son's money on this MP3 player. The software is un-friendly, customer support from EigerLabs nonexistent. It was unusable. Don't buy this...
Rating: Summary: Poor operating system support. Review: I got this player as a gift three or four months ago, and very disappointed as I cant use this player - I have Windows 2000 professional at home, and Windows NT at work, so I cant install the management software at either places.I sent a complaint via email to the company, and got no reply. This is very disappointing - what good is a player if it supports only Windows 9x ? It's the most popular operating system in world, but the software is just a graphical user interface and some code to talk with the parallel port, and a port to other operating systems (Windows NT/2000, Mac, Linux) isnt exactly rocket science. The most disappointing thing is that the released a new management software version about a week ago, and it still supports only Windows 9x. I'm going to stick with my CDMan and collection of CDs. I have to pay for every CD I buy, but at least I can listen to any music I want and take unlimited amounts of music to wherever it is I go (e.g. a 5 hours trip to my aunt). The single star doesnt go to the product - which I cant use, but rather to the miserable company behind it.
Rating: Summary: Does NOT support Win NT Review: This player is lying in my drawer for almost a year now, since I am using NT4 on all of my computers. MPman.com keeps on promising NT support, but until now they just did not make it. Appearently, there has been a software version that promised to support NT. A friend of mine tried to install it, resulting in an error message that a dll is missing and will be delivered with next release. I am still waiting for that release... Only response I got from them so far is: "We are working on it..." :((
Rating: Summary: No Tech Support for Problems Review: My first inkling that I was probably dealing with an inferior product was all the grammatical and spelling mistakes located on the actual CDROM disc, on the programs, and in the user's guide. My problems started when I could not get anything to download onto the player. I tried everything, set the proper adjustments, even initialized the sound card from my digital camera (thus making the card useless now) and then attempted to download from various MP3 sites and playlists. Nothing! I e-mailed to Eigerlabs customer service support for advice. No response to the two e-mails I sent. I'm following my friend's advice and buying the Rio, like I should have done the first time.
Rating: Summary: Bad Company, Bad Product....Bad. Bad, Bad...... Review: I bought this unit from Amazon about 2 months ago, and it still dosn't work, I waited for NT 4.0 drivers that company promised would be ready in July, and then on their web site they had a notice it would be available soon, whan I called them 3 weeks ago they finally admitted they had no plans to release it. So I put on win98 machine same problem it dosn't play it keeps sayng stop....I called tech support, andthey promied to send RMA number to my e-mail, they never did....their phone number makes you wait forever, and nobody answers.....bad company, bad product.....
Rating: Summary: Low cost, entry level MP3 Player - very happy with purchase Review: Let me start by saying that I'd never seen or heard of Eigerman before. I don't think it's commonly available in Australia. I bought it new through a technology "trash & treasure". I'd been shopping around for a MP3 Player a while, and had come across Diamond Rio, Creative Nomad, Samsung, Voxson, D'Music, MPZoo, LG, JazPiper, etc, etc. However, Eigerman is by far the cheapest (paid $175AUD=$98US). Nearest rival in terms of cost was $295AUD=$165US. The highly desirable Sony Memory Stick Walkman is expected to sell for around $750AUD=$420US when released here. The Upside: 1. Fault-free installation - I downloaded the latest MP Manager Ver3.0 from the EigerLabs website and it worked perfectly with the EigerMan. I also use the second parallel port attached to my external Zip drive for music download and have had no problems. 2. Stylish and well constructed case, basic black with velvety finish (looks better up close than some other expensive ones I've seen). 3. Everything works as advertised; Play, FF, FR, prev, next, repeat, shuffle, volume and hold via chrome finish push buttons. 4. Really impressive Bass (at Max)with 3 settings; Norm, Mid, Max. The Downside: 1. The smallest LCD screen I'd ever seen on any current MP3 player. Just large enough to show track no., elapsed time, battery meter, volume and bit rate. Forget about song title, artist name, and other good stuff. 2. Basic model with 32MB is only just enough for 30 minutes music (i.e. appx. 5-7 songs). My first upgrade was to slot in a 32MB SmartMedia card in the single available slot to bring it to a max 64MB. By the way - it doesn't support 64MB cards - I tried. 3. Snug vinyl black case (with belt clip) has no access for the parallel interface slot or battery hatch. You have to slide it off to use either (minor gripe!). To my untrained ear - MP3 sounds just as good as CD and the EigerMan highlights this to it's advantage. Overall on price and basic functionality it's impressed me enough to chip in this user review. I read all the other user comments on Amazon before making the decision to buy mine.
Rating: Summary: AWESOME! Review: This is a wonderful product! I am amazed with the clarity of sound this product delivers at such a reasonable price. It's very lightweight and easy to use. It is the perfect product for me. I recommend it to my friends.
Rating: Summary: This dog won't hunt. Review: I bought the F20V with high hopes and now wish I'd read the oneguy's review who said he wasn't an Eigerlabs "plant". Thismay be the greatest MP3 player known to man, but I'll never know; I've tried 6 different parallel port settings on a computer and port with which I've previously had zero difficulty. The net result is not a damned thing - I can't get the player to upload any MP3 files, Eigerlabs tech support won't respond to my e-mail or calls, and I'll be happy if PC Nation refunds my money so I can buy a player that connects via USB. Stay...away from the F20V. END
Rating: Summary: Pretty Good Investment, And REALLY! NO TROUBLE! Review: I was a bit apprehensive before buying this product due to a few reviews I had read in these columns, however I decided to take the risk because of a low budget and I have no regrets. Unlike many who'll claim that this player is hard to set up, I had no problems, other than on an old notebook. The quality of sound is great and the file transfer rate is really fast. So, if you want a cheap, good player.. this is the one. Feel free to contact if you got any doubts regarding this product.
