Review: I rencently bought the Rio 32MB Digital Audio Player and I was quite pleased with it. The software it comes with is easy to install and use. And with the USB connection cable, putting songs from your computer to mp3 player take only a few seconds. The one problem with this device is the very low battery life. But over all, it is a great product.

Summary: Get a MINI DISC PLAYER
Review: My Friend has an MP3 player and I have a MiniDisc player. We both agree I made the better choice. MP3s are smaller, but Mini Disc players can fit in any pocket and weigh less than a pound. I can carry my Mini Disc player and a few extra discs in my front pocket (up to 5 hours), but I rarely have that much. MP3s have limited space (32MB=about 32 Minutes @ 128KPS). To expand this you can buy a $90 memory disc for some MP3s. A 74 minute Mini Disc is $1.50-$2 each. I have tranfered many full CDs (mine and my friends')to MD. I have SNL skits, live preformances, voice recordings, songs by genre and artist and also full CDs all on assorted Mini Discs MP3s can only get songs from a computer. MDs can get any audio from anything with an audio line out (all computers and most CD players, TVs, VCRs, DVD players, and others. MINI DISC IS BETTER

Summary: Good.....But it dosen't WORK!
Review: Well I was extremely excited when I bought this product. I just couldn't wait to tear it out of the box and plug it in. Well I wasm't around my computer so I just put the battery in, and wow, there were some songs ( 7 )allready on the thing. So I decided to play them, thare was a neat toutorial, and some rock and other stuff. Well I thought that after this it would be a great product....WRONG! I pluged it in my computer and the computer didn't even know that it was there. I tried all the stuff on the FAQ's and other manuals, but none of the suggestions worked. So know I am listening to the same seven songs over and over again countin the hours till I can return it. Though not including this MINOR problem, there are some nice features on the RIO. Maby I got a faulty product.. But now I will either replace it, or get a Samsung Yepp. Well if you chose to buy this GoOd LuCk.

Summary: Disapointed
Review: I purchased Rio 600 last summer. I did not mind getting only 32MB because I was lured by Diamond's promise of 340MB backpack. Rio 600 is small and stylish and 372MB of memory would make it an ultimate player. However, five months past and Diamond still has not released any of backpacks 32MB, 64MB or 340MB. Later it became clear to me that Diamond abandoned 340MB backpack. Software program for is adequate but it might take time for users to get used to it. File transfer was fast and reliable using USB connection .My unit functioned flawlessly but I need more than 32MB. I sold Rio 600 last month on auction. If your are in market for MP3 player I strongly discourage you from buying Rio 600 or Rio 800. Personally I am going to take look at Iomega HipZip and Nomad N-64

Review: I've run into the same problem as the other guys. All of sudden all it plays is STATIC...poor quality instrument. My kid's main Christmas gift and now he had nothing!

Summary: Rio 600 digital audio player
Review: I recently purchased this Rio 600, and I must say overall I am satisfied with the product. The good thing is that its really easy to use, I rarely had to refer to the manual. The battery, considering it uses one AA lasts quite a long time. The display is nice and clear, with an impressive backlit feature. Also the design is decent, with two tone face plate, and easy to function buttons. Not to mention the unique and original shape design. A nice belt clip is provided as well, which like mobile phone cases doesn't make the device look bulky and twice as big. In the software department I would say the Rio does well. The installation is nice and simple, and not to mention the speed at which the songs are downloaded from the computer to the Rio. I downloaded about 11 songs in about 30 seconds! However one aspect of the software I was let down on was searching for mp3 songs, there was no search engine provided where you typed your song and it was found. Instead they gave you some promotional songs that nobody wants to listen to. Another bad point was the installation of the batterys, the cylinder battery container inside came off. You have to be careful when you slide the back off as there are some pins from a chip that can easily be damaged if the case is removed carelessly. The headphones were decent sounding but to be honest I don't like the design of it, putting it on your ears can be quite tedious! Some people were dissapointed with the memory capacity but I was already wary of this before I bought the Rio. I think the main intention is, if you have regular access to a PC you can remove and store new songs as you like. And this shouldn't be a problem considering how fast it is to transfer songs from PC via Rio. Also bear in mind that upgrades, apparently should be available soon.

Summary: Nice but ..... Some Probs
Review: I just bought the Rio 600 and thought it was very good but ... little bit disappointing . the software is difficult and very frustrating , it will take a bit to get used to. But otherwise fine . Pros: 1. Sleek and light weighted 2. Sound Qualitys good 3. Battery life , decent 4. Nice backlit feature 5. Come with nice earphones 6. Good audio options 7. WMA format compatability 8. Fast file transfer Cons: 1. Weak memory ( needs upgrade ) 2. Paint and rubber peels off easily ( wears & tears easily ) 3. Bad and frustrating software 4. Doesn't really play 60 mins really like rio says , it's more like 30 or less usally even with less of a birate 5. You have to format the memory often to keep your full 32 mbs or you end up havin wasted space on you memory 6. Buttons are a lil diff. you may end up pushin next track instead of play Overall - Its a pretty much overall good Mp3 player ( recommend upgrading memory to atleast 64 mbs , worth it )

Summary: Caveat Emptor - Buyer Beware!
Review: I have a Rio MP3 player, which is a great product when it works. Here are a few of the things they don't tell you: (1) ANY product support by phone you pay the long distance charges; (2) after the first 90 days, you pay $.. per phone call; (3) free product support by e-mail, if you don't mind waiting three days for response, only to get a clarification question, and then another three days... (4) you WILL need the product support. The unit and the software are riddled with bugs. Mine only sporadically works. On the plus side, they have now volunteered to replace my unit free of charge. That is, IF customer support ever gets back to me. P.S. The "nifty" earphones are all treble and no bass. Hope you don't like trance, jazz or rock, or you'll need to shell out $.. for a different pair.

Summary: Rio 600 review
Review: I really like this product! (I just got it) It has amazing sound quality, and the software that it comes with is fairly straightforward to use. The only reasons that I didn't give it 5 stars are as follows: 1- It doesn't really come with enough memory. Apparently upgrades are available, but at a price. 2- I dropped it once and the on/hold/off button popped off! I managed to get it back on, but now I'm afraid it will fall off again, and without that, you have some srious problems, since it turns itself off if you aren't using it. Other than that, so far--I love it! JJ

Summary: Great at first....
Review: I received this as a Holiday gift recently and initially was very impressed. Cool design, and easy to install and use software. Music capacity is defintely skimpy, however. MP3 format takes up much more memory than WMA format, so it helps to search for music in WMA format. Even more helpful would be the upgrade, and frankly they should make it with the higher memory to start. Out of the box I would say the memory capacity can sometimes be closer to 30 minutes than 60 minutes. Biggest problem: after only a couple of weeks of using it, it died. No warning, it wasn't dropped. Everything appears to be fine except that no sound comes out of it. Tech support was very matter-of-fact about the problem as if it happened all the time and said they would authorize a replacement, though I have yet to get the paperwork that will allow me to send it back. Bottom line seems to be: good product with quality control problems!
