Rating: Summary: Where is the DVD/CD-RW Combo and the TouchPad? Review: I would have bought this laptop the first time I saw it, except that it does not have a DVD/CD-RW combo. I just didn't want to pay extra for a separate CD-RW drive. Another big minus is that it does not have a touch-pad, which over the long run doesn't put strain on your finger as a pointing-stick does. Oh well, I hope Toshiba starts putting touchpads on its upper-end notebooks in the near future.
Rating: Summary: WOW! Incredible package. Review: Only subnotebook to have full size key board (at least that is the way it feels to my very large fingers), yet to be a complete package with built in DVD rather than having to have a docking port and hook up an external drive any time one wants full usability. And, the years of experience shows in usability. This is my third Portege in the past ten years. Every one of them has had the convenience of being able to just shut it to put it into standby mode so that when it is again open it quickly fires up just where it was when it was shut. Others may have the capability to be programmed that way, but my portege's have always come out of the box with that feature. Support was great. I had a question on the fax modem and it took less than five minutes of touch tone menus and being put on hold to get to a technician who quickly answered my question. Reviews on places like CNET speak of the frustrations with Sony products that look great but fail in performance and support. The reviews are the reason I stuck with Toshiba and I'm glad I did.
Rating: Summary: Terrible Tech Support Review: This computer allows people to utilize the internet in so many different ways with the new features such as Bluetooth. The memory on this computer is enormous and the speed of the computer is great too. The screen's resolution is great for playing DVD's and other entertainment functions. This is a great computer for business that has so much more to offer. In my opinion this is a must buy.

Rating: Summary: Terrible Tech Support Review: Toshiba may make good products, but their support is the worst i have ever come across. They have lost my laptop for over a month now and do not care a lick about it. They're tech support team is in Turkey and they dont care a thing about anybody. They kept hanging up on me and refused to help me saying it will take some time. When i called back- no one knew anything and had zero updates. DO NOT BUY TOSHIBA PRODUCTS! Get a Gateway or Dell instead...two companies that actually care about their customers.
