Summary: Quality product from a quality brand...
Review: The only issue I have with this computer is its weight. It is fast, blessed with a great screen, has every port you could possibly want, and even has a swift DVD burner to boot. But it is a behemoth at 10 pounds. The Apple 17" Powerbook weighs 7 pounds, and has a longer lasting battery and a much more svelte and attractive form factor. Too bad it is 1300 clams (!) more expensive!!!

Basically, this is a true desktop replacement model. And it will save you on your electric bills relative to your typical 300-watt desktop, as well as desk space...The size is sure to impress your friends, but it is almost too unwieldy and huge for couch computing, and you can forget working on it while in coach.

Enjoy!

Summary: Great Computer for the price and package
Review: This computer has it all. The 17 widescreen is awesome and its fast for DVD's. The Harmon Kardon speakers rock too. This computer is definatly a good buy for the value. It's heavy but well worth travelling with. I highly recommend this computer!!

Summary: Its really a small Desktop Computer
Review: This computer really does have it all. Its quick, has plenty of extra's and has a great screen. Sure its heavy, and the battery life is not great, but if your looking at THIS kind of power, those factors don;t matter. Your more likely to have this plugged in the wall and not on the go anyway. Its really a small desktop: 2.8P,(with 800mhz bus) 512MB RAM, 32MB Video RAM, DVD-R/RW, 17 inch screen, and a pretty good software package!!!! On paper, it matches or BEATS many of today desktops. And on top of it all, you can have it for under 2 grand. I've owned it for 5 weeks now, and its been running great. The built in Wi-Fi is great too, because if you manage to take it somewhere where there is wireless internet, its ready to jump on. The Screen is without a doubt, the greatest feature. You can see everything, and watching DVD movies are really fun. Its like you have a portable desktop with a 17" widescreen that you can carry with you if you had to. The battery lasts about 1 hour and a half, depending on how heavy you use it, but like I said, power like this comes with a price. Great for digital pictures, great for home movies, although the hard drive is a bit small, I suggest buying the opitional 2nd hard drvie for the unit. Great for a first time buyer, or the professional.

Summary: Toshiba P25-S507
Review: This is one fantastic machine. I'd do it again even though I found a few problems.

First, the Toshiba carrying case is the only one that really works. You can get them at CompUSA. Kensington has a small one but not enough room for all your stuff.

It's possible to get a virus almost immediately after going on line. Mine needed 13 Windows critical updates and 9 other recommended. Norton was no help as it was an XP flaw. I did my updates on a LAN system behind a router configured to block all the nasty ports. I recommend this procedure if you can get access to Cable/DSL with a multi-port router.

The only shortcoming I found is the touchpad sensitivity. It's way too high and there's no way to reduce it through software properties. Toshiba has updates for numerous things but not touchpad sensitivity. You can shut off the pad, Ctrl-F9, and use an external optical wheelmouse plugged into the side USB port.

These few problems will be solved so don't wait to enjoy the machine.

Summary: i love it
Review: this machine is one of the most awesome pieces of equipment i have ever come across...it is fully loaded...like buying a rolls royce with a ferrari engine...the 2.8GHZ processor keeps it humming...while the huge screen and RAM keep it kicking...i love it

Summary: terrible tech support
Review: Toshiba may make good products, but their support is the worst i have ever come across. They have lost my laptop for over a month now and do not care a lick about it. They're tech support team is in Turkey and they dont care a thing about anybody. They kept hanging up on me and refused to help me saying it will take some time. When i called back- no one knew anything and had zero updates. DO NOT BUY TOSHIBA PRODUCTS! Get a Gateway or Dell instead...two companies that actually care about their customers.

Review: What initially caught my eye was the large screen. The overall sleek look is amazing. This is definitely a must own laptop and, with Windows XP, it can't be beat.
