Rating: Summary: Cutting edge technology ¿ IBM T41 Notebook Review: ThinkPad T41 is a powerful, reliable, and light notebook. It works perfectly for any purpose, and almost all the applications can be used over it.Powered by 1.7 GHz Intel Pentium M Centrino processor, and 512MB DDR RAM, this notebook can withstand demand of any kind of processing and complex applications. The T41 notebook I have used had: MS Windows XP Professional, MS Office XP, Lotus Notes 6.03 Mail Client, Mcaffee 7.1, IE 6.x, Real Player, Lotus Notes Administrator/Designer, Adobe Acrobat writer, Adobe Photoshop, PC Anywhere 10.x, Citrix ICA Client, Blackberry Desktop Manager, Lotus Organizer, WinDVD, Palm VX desktop, Iris OCR, and many other software. I must say that even after having all these software and 19GB of data, I never faced any problem with the performance and notices any sluggishness. However, I have noticed that despite having a dedicated memory slot for graphic capabilities, the results are not very satisfactory. Dell Latitude C610 with almost same configuration seems to be a winner on this end. This notebook is not reasonably priced; as for US$ 2400 you can get a notebook, lot cheaper from other manufacturers like Dell, and HP-Compaq. However, the IBM quality is unmatched. Some of the features are T41 are : 1. 1.7 GHz Intel Pentium M Centrino processor 2. Airbag-like IBM Active Protection System 3. ThinkLight for Keypad 4. Builtin data backup and protection system 5. IBM 11b Wi-Fi wireless 6. Worldwide A/C compatibility All these features are available on this top of the line notebook and believe some of them are not even available as optional on notebooks offered by other manufacturers. Overall, it's a nice notebook. Though slightly overpriced, you get lots of features and frills that take care of it.
