Summary: Excellent desktop replacement computer
Review: This is not a lightweight machine and its battery life is a little over 2 hours. And it gets rather warm, and the fan is a bit noisy. But if you want a powerful desktop-replacement computer with a wide, high-res display, plenty of RAM, a large hard disk, a fast processor and all the bells and whistles (ethernet card, wireless, DVD/CD-RW, USB, firewire, etc...) and don't plan to carry it everywhere or use it on 7-hour flights, it's an excellent machine. I've been using it for 6 months. The first thing I did was repartition and put linux on it, and everything works fine under linux, except the modem (a winmodem, as usual), maybe that can be made to work too but I haven't tried since I don't really need it.
