Rating: Summary: Good Price Review: Got this machine from ubid.com $1000 shipped and i have to say for the price, this is not a bad machine at all. just one annoying thing which is the keyboard..it seems that it's poorly made..some of the keys are not as responsive as it is suppose to be. My wife has to hit the letter "k" for instance a couple of times for it to show up on the screen. but aside from that..it's a full featured machine with a very good price and i love the SVGA+ screen
Rating: Summary: Good Computer for the Price Review: I bought this computer for college. I really like it, it just has a few minor flaws. 1.The fan noise gets annyoing after awhile 2. The speakers are not that great. 3. The battery life sucks. It is suppose to last 2 or 3 hrs, I forgot, but I will be very luck if I could get an hour. All in all it is a great computer, a lot of space for a basic user, good price, fast. I would recommend buying a mouse though, the pad is kind of annoying and it gets in the way.
Rating: Summary: Pros with Cons to Consider Review: I purchased the ze5385us over the summer to be used during the fall at Georgia Tech. Overall, it's a satisfactory machine. The vertical scroller coupled with the customizable one touch buttons allow for increased efficiency. However, The biggest flaw is the blower fans used to cool this product. THAT'S RIGHT! BLOWER FANS NOT REGULAR FANS. You can not sit in class with the damn fan on without agitating class mates and the professor. For all the power goodies HP put into this product, they did not consider the issue of quiet performance. I feel this to be a big deal in many situations. Along with this, playing MP3's glitch when Alt-tabing. Hopefully HP will rectify this issue through a patch. If performance over quiteness is your aim, this machine shall not disappoint you.

Rating: Summary: Great Value so Far Review: I've had this for a litle less than a week, and so far I am pleased as punch. Great features, half a gig of RAM, 2.6Hz P4, 60 gb harddrive, 1400x1050 monitor, firewire, USB 2.0, built in 802.11b wireless, all for ~$$$$$. I am using it for design work, and it's been great. Plenty of monitor room for floating pallets. I am a little nervous about the quality down the road. I read a lot of negative reviews here for the ze5185, I hope HP has turned a corner with this one. ......
Rating: Summary: Good Price Review: I've used the machine both at home and at work for about three weeks now. I bought this machine because I needed a workhorse instead of a thoroughbred - I needed an inexpensive portable desktop I could use for everything from games and development to writing and graphic design. The machine appears designed to appeal to a younger adult crowd; lots of lights in "cool" colors, blue/silver layout, larger footprint. It's heavy (about 7.5 lb); if you want a lightweight machine, look elsewhere. However, it's fast, it'll run about 2 hours on a full charge, and it's got just about every feature supported by a comparable desktop at the same price. In short, it's a good machine at a great price.

Rating: Summary: Follow Up. Great Value so Far Review: Okay, I've been using this computer for about three months. Limitations have come up. The chip is fast, but the machine is slow. It hangs with multiple applications open. When playing MP3s if you try to do anything (even as simple as "alt-tab") the MP3 glitches. The speaker volume is low, and even with headphones the volume is low. Using the headphones I couldn't hear a movie I was playing on a plane. The key board is awful. Even after playing with the repeat setting a bunch I still can't type as fast as I want. But, it is still inexpensive and has a big screen. And bottom line is I can still use it for graphics work no problem. So that's the skinny. It can be slow and annoying, but at this price who's complaining?
Rating: Summary: Greate Stuff at Price Review: Recently I have bought this. Shortly I can say it's multimedia center. I heard lot about fan noise before buying this, but after that i have download BOIS updates from HP! Noise is gone:). Now I feel it's perfect, thanks to HP. It's little warm may winter will pass thru without a heater;) Just kidding! Over all it's great stuff!
Rating: Summary: Excellent desktop replacement computer Review: This is not a lightweight machine and its battery life is a little over 2 hours. And it gets rather warm, and the fan is a bit noisy. But if you want a powerful desktop-replacement computer with a wide, high-res display, plenty of RAM, a large hard disk, a fast processor and all the bells and whistles (ethernet card, wireless, DVD/CD-RW, USB, firewire, etc...) and don't plan to carry it everywhere or use it on 7-hour flights, it's an excellent machine. I've been using it for 6 months. The first thing I did was repartition and put linux on it, and everything works fine under linux, except the modem (a winmodem, as usual), maybe that can be made to work too but I haven't tried since I don't really need it.
