Summary: Bad Buy
Review: Bad buy. There is always a slight hiss and slight ringing, and there is also stuttering. I am very disappointed and will return the product right away. Thought Sony would do a good job and I guess I expected a cordless phone type of sound quality at least, but instead got a headphone that isn't even bearable to listen to.

Review: I am a Sony fanatic and almost every electronic device I own is a Sony brand. I am sadden to say that not only is this the worst Sony product I've ever bought, this is the worst of any IR or RF headphone unit that I've tried. Despite everyone's complaint about the clicking, I went ahead and bought the RF950 since I'm a Sony fan and I never had any problems with Sony before. After trying it out for a few hours, I knew it was a big mistake. The sound quality is the best of any IR or RF unit. But the clicking noise drives me insane. From 5 FT away, everytime I move my head or change position I would hear static, clicking or a buzzing sound. I tried changing channels on the RF unit which didn't help at all. I've even tried the same unit in another room and at my work standing 1 - 2 FT away with the same problem. Thinking that it's a defective product, I bought a new one at another store. No surprise, the same problem exist. I then called Sony to complain, they said that there has been no reports of such a problem. I pointed out that there are remarks all over the about the noise interference problem with the RF950. Sony was not able to help me and they never called me back even after repeated attempts to contact them. I went out and bought the Advent IR and Jensen IR as a test and they worked great. Granted neither product sounded as clean but atleast all the clicks were gone. Now I'm stuck with this lousy unit that works perfect if I had a neckbrace and if I can keep my body as stiff as a corpse.

Summary: The best in whats available
Review: I fully agree that this model has some problems. But if you consider the alternatives there are not many other choices. In all the wireless headphones I have compared this one is on top of the list. My basic use was to watch TV and meanwhile allow my wife to study. For this purpose I didn't really need some super Hi-Fi headphones. This model has a real good bass response but also does not like the user to move around too much. If you can stay relatively still (Like during watching TV) you can get a pretty good quality reception (static and hiss free).

Summary: Sony MDR-RF950RK Not Very Impressive
Review: I got these headphones for my office so I could listen to music while I worked so that I wouldn't have to drag a cord around. Unfortunately, the sound quality was not very good. I have another pair of ear bud headphones that were about $14. They sound better than the cordless. There was a quiet hissing noise in the cordless phones that wasn't present with the cheap ear bud phones hooked up to the same source. And the dynamic range was muted on the cordless headphones; which is strange considering the nice dynamic range they advertise. Also, there was a lot of popping and stuttering when I turned my head or walked around. This occured no matter what channel of the three I used or how much I tried to tune it.

Summary: Very disappointed in sound
Review: I had high hopes for these, considering all the hype regarding the dynamic range. The sound was very disappointing and anything over half volume was very distorted. Also, the phones could not handle any bass at all. I bought these to listen to at work and found myself turning the treble all the way up and bass all the way down just to get a somewhat clear signal. I was rerplacing a set of MDR200 headphones with these, but the 200s are a 100 times better in sound quality and volume. Returned the cordless and do not recommend to anyone.

Review: I have been completely impressed with every Sony product I've ever owned until purchasing these headphones. The fit is so loose and sloppy that it seems they're designed only for someone with a massive head or very big hair. Signal dropout in the form of a annoying click occours every time you move more than 5 steps and every couple of minutes if you are stationary. I find the sound quality acceptable but only when it's loud enough to drown out the hiss. I don't know if other brands are any better but I can't imagine how they could be any worse.

Summary: review of the wireless headphones MDR-RF950RK
Review: The sound is very good. I can hear everywhere: in my basement, outside and so on. The only comment is that sometimes when I turned my head, the sound disappeared for a 1/10 of second. But it is possible that I did not tune them well. I compared this product to another, which you can by in RADIOSHAK. SONY is much better. Especially I like their headphones, because they are very comfortable.
