Rating: Summary: Not a good product Review: .... When I dropped them a day after getting them home, the right earpiece shattered, revealing the inside of a very cheap product. .... The description doesn't tell you that you have to tune the transmitter, then tune the headset until the signals coincide. That takes a little doing to get it right, and I find that the two parts lose each others' signal several times over the course of a couple of hours. I have to re-tune the base and the headset each time they lose each other. It also has an annoying whine most of the time also. Since last XMas, it seems like this is the only wireless headphone product in the retail stores, which is a shame because it is so bad.
Rating: Summary: Pass on these Review: I recently purchased these headphones and have not been impressed. The sound is okay at best. I would recommend the Sennheiser RS40 over these headphones. They cost the same, sound better and recharge on the base stand. A much better value overall.
Rating: Summary: Broke after less than a year of light use Review: I use the headphone at my desk at work. I've had them less than a year and only used them 20 or 30 times.I like to listen to my music at low volume, but had a problem from the start with the balance in stereo. With the volume set down low, I could barely hear sound out of the left side. So I would have to adjust the balance setting in my output( in this case my computer ). So whenever I changed the volume, I also had to adjust the balance. Now the left side does not work at all when in stereo at any volume level. They sounded good when they worked and were comfortable to use for an hour of two at a time, but since they broke after light use I can only give them 1 star. Hope you have better luck with yours.....
Rating: Summary: Advent AW770 - better than average cordless headphones Review: I own both the AW720's (older) and AW770's (newer). Sound Quality: The older 720 headset reproduced mid and high frequency sound well, but suffered on base response. To combat this, I simply added base with my stereo. The 770's handle middle and high frequencies decently, but over emphasize the base. So I have to correct for that by taking a little base out with my stereo. This is also due to the design of the headphones, open ear (720's) don't transmit base as well as closed ear (770's) headphones do. If you've ever worn *in* ear headphones you'd realize a difference when you rotate the in ear headphones a little, one direction base gets stronger, pull the ear bud's out a little or rotate them and the base diminishes. Comfort: The older 720 headset worked very well, however after an hour or so, I became increasingly aware that they were there, because they were uncomfortable. That was because the 720's rested (pressed) ON the ear. The 770's are different; they are designed to cover around the ear, offering better sound isolation from the outside world. They have soft comfortable cushions that rest on your head around the ear. Range / Handling: The 770's handle dropping out of range better than the 720's in that the headphones will drop to mono as you start to exceed the range, and then will drop to muffled static (automatic squelch control). In contrast, as soon as you exceeded the range on the 720's, you are treated to very LOUD static / white noise. They are both supposed to switch to mono as you near the end of their range, however the older 720's NEVER did. Since I've mentioned range, they ARE one of the few brands that can go 300 feet (100 meters) in distance, where many of the others only go 150 feet, or as in the case with LED transmitted headphones, 20 ft. The range IS diminished by walls and other obstacles, however most people needing them in an average home will do well. The only complaints I have are: 1) the recharging system is designed for NiCD instead of NiMH (NiMH is a much better rechargeable battery) 2) still uses an analog 900MHz frequencies. Anyone with an analog 900MHz cordless phone will eventually hear interference from the cordless phone on the headphones when the phone is in use. However if you own a digital or digital spread spectrum 900MHz or 2.4GHz cordless phone, you will not notice any interference. ** Compliant #2: Anyone within roughly 300 feet can listen in to what YOU are listening to, when using practically any 900 MHz based cordless headphone or frequency scanner. When the advertisements say, "listen in privacy" they only mean in that YOU won't be bothered by sounds around you, as there is no privacy available on an openly transmitted signal that does not use some form scrambling circuitry. Recommendation: If you are looking for a very good cordless headphone set, at a decent price, the Advent AW770's are the right place to start. Also recommend investing in a second set of batteries, NiMH or NiCD that are recharged separately if you plan to listen for long periods of time between charges. I can go three weeks on one set of NiMH batteries with about 10hrs of listening time. I have not tried continuous use from a fresh charge till death. I will (some day) and put that into this review. More expensive and a reportedly higher quality sound could be achieved through the use of the Sennheiser 30 /40 /60 /80 headphones, but the 30's are lower quality, the 60 is nearly 200 (modified surround sound circuitry) and the 80's are nearly 250. (prices found through a yahoo shop) The Sennheiser sets do use NiMH, and have an easier recharge capability; in cradle rather than attaching a cable from the base unit; and some models come with TWO battery sets. *note times change and they may change what is included with the headset. Do shop around, Amazon is a good place, however sometimes you may find a better price, or the same price but local availability (BestBuy is local for me and was at the same price) Rating: Summary: Please DO NOT BUY THIS! Review: I received it 10 days after the shipping date!! I was looking for a wireless headphones for a long time. I did not want to buy the infra-red ones, so I selected this model. I thought I'm getting something useful. Now, all what I can say is "please DO NOT BUY THIS SET!".
The sound is not clear at all, and you need to adjust the transmitter volume from time to time, depends on what genre you are listening to, ROCK, METAL, SLOW... etc . Usually when you compile a custom CD each song will have a different volume than the other, so you need to adjust the transmitter volume -not the headset volume-, or you will receive a very bad sound, just imagine yourself doing that for each song, it is really a pain in the nick! I will return it this week, and I will start searching for a better model, obviously that means higher price! regards,

Rating: Summary: good, but uncomfortable Review: These headphones are great, and I can walk around the yard and still have great clarity. The volume can be set to very loud, and can be used when cutting the grass and vacuming. However, the headphones are extreamly tight on your head and they hurt your ears a lot when you wear them for long periods at a time. Not only is it a cool gadget to get, but they serve useful when doing yardwork.
Rating: Summary: Expensive as compared to working Review: ... i found that this headphone is not what i thought about itafter reading about it on the net and the booklet included with theheadset at the first sight. According to the manual the range is 300feet. This is not true in the case of a scenario in which you use theheadphone with walls e.t.c between the transmitter and theheadphone. I placed the transmitter on the top floor of my house andthe sound quality was very good in the area of about 60 * 50 feet onmy top floor with concreate walls in between and wood doors, but wheni went downstairs, the real thing showed up. While moving around icould easily hear hissing sound which disappers when i stopwalking. Moreover the signal also became weak. I adjusted thefrequency from the headphone but of no use. So whats the use, even iwent up and changed the frequnency of the headphone and thetransmitter again, but when i came back same was the result. The soundbecomes louder when i came under the room in which i placed thetransmitter. Allover it showed variable sound and i was just about 30feet away from the transmitter with concrete walls in between. Thesecond thing is that i went in the opposite direction of the room onthe same floor in which i placed the transmitter and when i was about20 feet away with 2 concrete walls in between and many glass windows, the signal was over. I belive that the 300 feet range is a marketingstrategy or if its possible, its in an open space like a ground. In ahouse or through walls, its impossible. The headphone comes with 3NiCD, rechargable batteries which are placed in the headset and theheadphones are connected to the transmitter with a charging cable. Thetransmitter is then connected to the power outlet to charge theheadphones. The initial charge is 24 hours (Plays 5 to 6hours). Average charge is 10-12 hours (Plays 3-4 hours) and ExtendedCharge is 16-18 hours (Plays 5-6 hours). There is no indication of anytype that the batteries are being charged on both the headphones andthe transmitter. The headphones comes with Y cable adapter, ACadapter, charging cable and headohone adapter plug also. Theaccessories are enough to plug anywhere. This thing is made in Chinaand the quality is not bad, the headphones fit very easily and arecomfortable enough to fit over the ear but the grip of the headphonesover the head is not so tight, if you look down the headphones alsolooses some of its original location and they might fall from yourhead if you jerk your head down. The transmitter is very lightweight and its quality is not so good, moreover its not so powerful, but it works till the distance i have specified with very goodresults. The antenna of the transmitter is very light weight and itcan break easily if not proper care is taken. Over all theheadphones are of good quality material but not the transmitter. Therange is not 300, its about 70 to 90 feet (works; very good in thisrange) with walls e.t.c in between and in an open space it ismore. The sound quality is very good if you are on the same floor ofthe transmitter but distorts if you go on different floor. The priceis high as compared to the product. Note: This is a totally clearreview of the product deflecting my own experience. I am not in theopposition of this company or product neither i have tried any otherwireless headphones of this or some other company. You may observe thefunctioning, quality e.t.c of the headphones as deviated from theresults which i have written in this review.
Rating: Summary: Decent headphones for the money Review: I use these headphones when watching DVD and VHS movies at odd times so not to wake up neighbors. The sound quality is quite good - sometimes surprising - considering the inexpensive nature of the product. The unit is easily set up - batteries need to be charged before initial use and after about every six hours of use thereafter. The unit requires a bit of patience to be "tuned in" and the signal varies as batteries wear down. Oddly enough the volume control was placed next to the tuning control, which is annoying until you get used to it. I do not like to be restricted by headphones with wires, so I accept the shortcomings of wireless headphones. Compared to other wireless headphones in the same price range the Advents have a richer, fuller sound and are arguably better constructed. If you are thinking about wireless the AW 770 are a decent choice.
Rating: Summary: Junk... Review: Don't waste your money, these headphones can't compete with $10 corded headphones. I was willing to accept some loss in sound quality to go cordless but these sound like a poorly tuned FM radio station. Actual range is only about 40 feet through walls. Get yourself a Walkman/Diskman/MP3 player instead.
