Rating: Summary: worthless! Review: I bought this computer thinking I was getting a fast, reliable substitute for my 6yr old computer. The first day I bought it, the thing started randomly restarting itself when I hadn't even installed any new hardware or software yet, so I had to run the recovery program and re-install everything. After this it worked fine for about 3 hours, then I installed my printer and it started working very, very slowly even for simple tasks like opening a window and eventually started randomly restarting again about every ten minutes or so. I was better off with my crappy old computer with win95! at least I could carry out functions without worrying about the thing restarting every time the mouse moves.
Rating: Summary: New user in midwest Review: I don't need to say many words. I bought the 750n and I'm very satisfied with its performance. My family has tried various applications and software and have had no problems. We think it's a great machine.
Rating: Summary: Great Desktop PC Review: I have owned the HP Pavilion 750n for over 2 years now and I am very happy with it. It is very reliable and fast and I've had no problems with it. It comes ready for todays tasks and for tasks to come. The PC is very simple to connect together. I'd certainly recommend this PC to others and would not hesitate to purchase HP again in the future.
Rating: Summary: So far, so good Review: It's been 72 hours since I first booted up my new HP, and so far, so good. I must admit I was a little skeptical of this machine, as my wife had a bad experience with an older Pavilion (power supply kept failing). However, I purchased an extended warranty with this machine -- something I usually don't do -- which helped my confidence. This is the six machine my family has purchased since the 1980s, and is a replacement for an old 366mHz machine. I found set-up to be very easy, and performance has been outstanding. Even my biggest spreadsheets (and I have some very big ones) are crunched with ease, and playing games are a blast. The Polk speakers and sound capabilities of the machine are great, too. I also purchased HP's new 15" LCD, which I heartily recommend. Now, if that power supply just keeps working...
Rating: Summary: Definitely a great computer. No complaints here! Review: Of the four computers I've owned so far, this computer is by far the greatest and most satisfying. I have not had a single problem with it other than some minor bugs that are to be expected. It's a very fast machine, capable of supporting the most modern and awesome software & games. It plays DVD's excellently, and the CD-RW drive is superfast. With more than enough RAM to handle all this, it's the perfect computer to buy right now. Heck, even the keyboard is extraordinarily comfortable to use! I'm not a big fan of Windows XP, however. The computer did come pre-installed with a lot of stuff I never intended on using, so I got rid of a good 4GB of files the first day I got it. However, other than that, it's a wonderful machine, and is very affordable for how top-notch it is.
Rating: Summary: Does Not Include Recovery Software Review: So far, as for functionality and stability, I really like this computer. What I don't like is that HP does not include recovery disks with this model. Instead, the HD is partitioned and the recovery software is placed on one of the partitions. This is fine if there are no major problems, but if somehow your HD is wiped, then according to HP tech support, you must send them you tower to have the HD re-partitioned and the software placed on it again. How inconvenient is that?!!! Though the technician I spoke with didn't tell me, I have read that if you are replacing your HD, they will provide you with disks for a charge. In all other situations, the tower is to be sent to them to fix. I am going to try to get the disks for this computer, but if I can't, I intend to exercise the 30-day return policy of the merchant I purchased this computer from and look elsewhere. Buyers beware, though I don't know it as fact, I understand other manufacturers are going to do this as well, check before you buy, if having the ability to configure your computer in the fashion you prefer is important to you, ask about the recovery disks before you buy. Make them show them to you, as some salesmen don't always know as much as they should about the products they are selling.
