Summary: Don't be fooled
Review: The tech specs list this computer as having an NvidiaGF4MX. If you think you are getting a true GF4 think again. You aren't even getting a GF3. The GF4MX is just a GF2(!) that has been rebranded as a GF4"MX".

A true GF4 card is compatible with the latest standards, a GF4MX is not. If you plan on playing the latest games, look for a system with more up to date graphics. If you just play old games (or none at all) then the graphics will probably be fine for you.

Summary: An absolute delight to use
Review: There is nothing on this computer that isn't 2 years old.

800 MHZ G4. Not exactly a state of the art cpu.

256 MB of 133 MHZ SDRAM, man when is Apple going to finally move over to at least 266MHZ DDR SDRAM? Most PCs are using memory 2-5 times faster than this!

Geforce 4 MX as someone already mentioned this is just an ancient Geforce2 with a shiny new name.

In fact I just checked and the cheapest (new) PCs on Amazon, the ones that cost less than five hundred, have newer, faster components than this! I've been waiting to upgrade my Mac for two years now so I could switch to OS X. I am begining to think my next computer isn't going to be an Apple.

Summary: Everything you could ever need in a computer!
Review: This is my 2nd flat panel iMac. I first bought the 15" model when it came out about a year ago. I was so pleased with it and so JEALOUS when I saw the 17" model come out that I sold the 15" and bought the 17". This computer is fantastic for doing just about anything: surfing the net, Photoshop work (the huge screen is GREAT for laying out all of your tools while still leaving plenty of room for your image), burning CDs/DVDs, etc. I couldn't be happier with it. It makes a small footprint on my desk, it is fast, so quiet (you can hardly hear the fan), and as a bonus is so sleek looking.

I've read several negative comments on this computer saying how its bad because its "not expandable," I guess because this computer doesn't have extra drive bays or expansion slots. Who cares?! What else would you possibly want to add to this computer? It comes with a HUGE hard drive, a CD drive that can burn CDs and DVDs, good sound, ethernet (100mbps or the optional Airport card), etc. And even if you did run out of hard drive space or found the need for another type of disk drive, you've got three USB ports and two very fast Firewire ports.

For any potential first-time Mac users that may be reading this, listen up! I used to be strictly a Windows user until I finally wised up and bought a Mac. Don't be deceived by what some people may tell you. A Mac can do everything a Windows computer does, just without all of the operating system crashes. Software installs without a hitch, as does hardware. With Mac OS X, a lot of hardware is plug and play, no extra drivers needed. Believe me, you'll like it! Just buy one!

Summary: Excellent value for the price!
Review: When Apple released their new iMac with the flat panel, I just wanted to buy it right away. When I saw the 15 inch display, though it was big for home use, for me it was too limiting since the resolution of 1024x768 was too little for my work.

I am a web/graphics developer and I need a lot of work space. The new 17 inch Flat panel (available for display at apple stores) is just beautiful. I've visited the store many times to look at it and have also pre-ordered the product.

I think it a great value for anyone buying a desktop!
80 GB, 17 inch cinema display, G4 800 Mhz and Superdrive!...P>If you were to configure a Dell with a similar configuration, you won't really end up saving much and would get no way close to the style and quality of the iMac.

I'd say go buy it! I am.
