Rating: Summary: Wait for the better version Review: Bose is supposed to have a good reputation in innovative audio technology. But, this attempt at "Acoustic Noise Cancelling" is a misnomer, in fact, plain misleading. It may reduce some engine noise in the plane, but you hear everything else, including screaming chidren and chatty passangers. The idea is good, but the technology is nowhere there. I'm returning mine back.
Rating: Summary: Amazing product if you are a business traveler... Review: First of all, let me say that I resisted buying the Bose QuiteComfort 2 headphones for a long, long time. I travel a fair amount for business, and had been looking for a pair of noise cancelling headphones for those long plane rides, but I didn't like the $300 price tag. I bought and returned a number of the cheaper Sony alternatives after finding them dramatically inferior. A business colleague had the Bose headphones, and I borrowed them for a test drive. There really isn't a comparison. Turn on the power and the ambient noise really does melt away, whether you have music playing or not. I now use them to review and edit audio files on my computer when I'm flying, as well as listening to my iPod. I never noticed the pressure that an earlier reviewer mentioned, but after reading their reviews it is there. However, it's never caused me any discomfort. Really, I have nothing bad to say about these headphones.
Rating: Summary: Too much ear pressure Review: I had the Bose Triport headphones, which were excellent. But since the Quietcomfort 2 has the same Triport technology PLUS noice-cancelling and a sturdier headband and case, I took back the Triports and got the Quietcomfort 2.It helps cancel out more noise, yes, but whatever pleasure I gain in reduced background noise is canceled out by this damn annoying constant pressure on my eardrums! That's how the Quietcomforts cancel out noise -- they sample the background noise and pump an inverse waveform (basically the opposite sound) into the headphones. It works well, but it causes a constant ear pressure that is really annoying and slightly uncomfortable. I definitely can't wear these phones for an extended period. Additionally, I don't travel a lot, and so I was planning to use these in Starbucks to drown out the cafe rustle. It does that, but my Triports did that ALMOST as well, because of the way the headphones completely cover the ears. In short, only get this if A) you fly a lot, and B) you don't mind the constant pressure. Otherwise, the Triports are half the price and just as good -- actually better, since they give NO ear pressure and don't require batteries!
Rating: Summary: I have the QuietComfort 1s.. and I can talk about the 2s.. Review: I have owned Bose Quietcomfort 1 headphones for around 8 months now and I can just tell you one thing... NOTHING NOTHING NOTHING (not even the bose triports like someone else says) sound like the Quietcomforts, and why is that? Because the Quietcomforts 1 and 2 take you in to a world where you and your music or your movie are ALONE, something not even a huge hometheatre can do! These headphones sound like a huge hometheater system.. deep bass, crystal clear sound, surround, they WILL amaze you! If the Quietcomforts 1 make me tell you all this, then I wonder what the QC2s would do if I owned them.. they have even better sound performance. I really dont know what else to say besides you are getting super great comfort, top audio quality and just the greatest headset around.. you can try them for 30 days and return them if you don't like them.. so go to a Bose Store and get them! I am sure you wont return them! I have enjoyed these to the max and I cant imagine living without them...
Rating: Summary: don't try them unless you intend to buy them... Review: no other headphones compare. perfect for anyone who wants complete sound clarity and faithful sound transmission. the "white noise" function enables enjoyment of complete audial solitude, with or without music.
Rating: Summary: Excelent Review: These earphones are fabulous! For my, noisy enviroments aren't a problem anymore. Once you put them on, you are the only one in the room! The earpieces are very comfortable.
Rating: Summary: What bose does not tell you Review: These headphones sound awsome. As long as you do not use them near: certain cellphones, wireless phones, wireless networks, bluetooth devices or anything that is wireless. Some of these devices create unwanted sounds such as screeching, oscillating low beeps and other unwanted sounds. I was so dissapointed when I recieved my official "blowoff" letter from bose with no resolution of the problem. But I have to admit, the sound quality (when not beeping) was unbelivable. email me at skipding@sbcglobal.net and I will send a link of where you can download a copy of the letter John
