Summary: The headphones are good ...
Review: Bought one pair this weekend. Surprisingly the sound is very good. You need to place the antenna higher above the floor level in order to gain a better a reception. I spent the whole night listening to my music next room, and I felt no distoration. The stereo sound is excellent. It's a good product.

Summary: Severe shortcomings
Review: Don't plan to use these headphones near computer equipment. A horrible cordless-phone hiss is your constant companion. And get ready to do the ancient tribal dance of the perfect-location-relative-to-the-tranmitter. Worse, the manufacturers must know of this shortcoming-- if you don't pump sound into the headphones, they'll shut off to help you preserve your sanity. When the next sound comes through, the headphones will turn back on again-- after the sound-- accompanied by a half-second burst of static. If you're trying to make your computer desk wireless, these are not for you.

Summary: Love it. Use it all the time!
Review: Have used it for over a year now. The sound is great; I lose no clarity from my CDs or DVDs. Rechargeable batteries are still working great. I use it all day (it does not run out), and put it on the charger over night. I go upstairs, downstairs, and in the garage, without any interference.

I bought another one to use at work and one for my girlfriend. People sitting next to you can't hear it, even when you have it cranked up. The only slight negative is that it feels a little bulky. But once you start using it regularly, you can't feel it much. I love it and strongly recommend it.

Summary: Don't let the brand name fool you.
Review: I am on my fourth set of wireless headphones (having gone back and forth between radio frequency (RF) and infrared (IF) designs). In general the RF perform better (especially the newer digital models) and I genuinely liked the RCA's UNTIL a neighbor purchased a 900 mhz base station for his cordless phone system. The resulting interference rendered the RCA's useless (it turns out that current cordless phone designs send out transmissions even when the phone is not in active use). Keep this eventuality in mind if you live close to other people -- what works today won't necessarily work tomorrow...

Summary: Uncomfortable, especially after hours of use.
Review: I bought these headphones so that my girlfriend could watch TV without disturbing me while I'm on the computer, and so that I could watch TV while she's asleep.

They're tight, and I guess they have to be to keep them on your head - the receiver and batteries add weight. The package claims "Soft earpads cushion your head for hours of wearing comfort" but that's simply not true. Hard plastic speaker casing sits right up against your hear with only a thin bit of foam protecting you, no real protection at all. Then a foam donut surrounds the speaker casing and gives the appearance of a lot of cushy foam to protect your ears.

If you wear them just right it's not too bad, but if you have it so that the hard plastic rests on your ears, it can become very irritating.

The sound quality is pretty good. The bass response is good, and it's fun to play video games with. The base plugs in to the headphones and will recharge ni-cad batteries, or they take 2 AAA batteries if you, for some reason, don't want to use the ni-cad batteries. The base and headphones are compact when at rest, just like in the photo.

I'd love to try another pair to see if there's a more comfortable set out there.

Review: I just got these headphones for my birthday, and they are great!!! I can go more than 150 feet like they say, even more! Also the headphones are really comfertable and are very compactable.
Also, the docking staition is ver convientent and small, click plug in. Its better than the other ones!! Buy IT!

Summary: Good with caveats.
Review: I just got this pair, and at first I was angry at the headphones. I couldn't believe how horrible they were.
I've finally found the secret to them, though. You have to have the volume on the source turned up all the way for the maximum SNR (signal to noise ratio). If the volume on the source is up all the way, these are pretty good headphones. There are still some goofy issues with them, but I think they'll do just fine.
Sound is good, they're comfortable if you have the band at at the proper tightness, and the range is adequate (no 150 feet, though).

Summary: Poor sound and quality
Review: I purchased these head phones because of RCA's reputation. Needless to say I was very disappointed.

If you plan on using these earphones near a computer system make sure you keep the transmitter as far away from your computer as possible. (Including your monitor) You also need to make sure you turn your computer systems main volume up or the earphones will cut out every time the sound gets soft.

Comfort is another disappointment. I don't have a large head and these earphones put a great deal of pressure on your ears. So much so, that you can actually feel your heart beat where they press against your head. This is probably due to the fact they are heavy, and they needed to make sure they don't fall off to easily.

The last problem I have is with quality. I have only had these earphones for 6 months and the head straps have already broken. With the pressure these things put on your head, I am not surprised. Guess I will see how good their customer service is. If they actually send me a replacement, it will get e-bay'd. I will find a better product for my money.

Summary: These Headphones are Seriously Flawed
Review: I purchased these headphones last summer. After a month of normal use the headstrap fatigued and broke. I replaced them thinking they were simply a defective pair. Not so. The second pair broke in the same place in the same fashion.

The reviews of these headphones frequently include comments on how uncomfortable they are. I find them equally as uncomfortable. They make your ears ache after only 30 minutes of use. This is because they are really designed for a childs head. The pressure they exert on your ears is due to the headstrap being both inelastic, and too small for an adult head. This is almost certainly the reason they break as well.

I am not the only consumer who has had these problems with the comfort and poor quality. Evidently the headstrap is a common point of breakage.

RCA says my breakage is a consumer related issue and does not claim any responsibilty for the design or manufacture of their product. If that is how they want to address this poorly designed pair of headphones, then I find it highly unlikely I will ever purchase another RCA product, and urge others to think VERY carefully before buying these headphones.

If you have had similar problems with these headphones I strongly urge you to call RCA and voice your opinion to their consumer relations department. RCA needs to know these are a seriously flawed product.
