Summary: A potentally dangerous waste of money
Review: These things are terrible. If - IF - you can get them to stay in your ear, you'll get good bass but not much else. Getting them to stay in your ear is the major challenge, of course. And the sharp plastic tube which conducts the music can easily and painfully poke through the foam and scrape the inside of your ear. Avoid them at all costs.

Summary: Very poor product
Review: Having tried a variety of headphones/buds these are one of the worst. They are hard to get into the ear, they dont' stay in, and the plastic inner tube in the middle can poke your ear if you aren't careful. Steer clear.

Summary: Nice idea, could be better implimented.
Review: I got these in spite of some of the poorer reviews, because I wanted some earphones small enough to slip in my purse, but my ears are too small or shaped in such a way that regular earbuds are impossible and/or painful to wear. This seemed like the perfect alternative.

And it *could* be. However, the "slow-recovery" foam earplugs included are more like fast-recovery. I've never seen foam earplugs that go to full size again so fast. They really are tough to get in if you leave the headphones inserted.

The trick I found was to slip the plugs off the headphone pieces, roll it up really tight and insert JUST the plug into your ear. Then slightly move it around until the hole for the headphone is lined up, and stick them in through the hole. That's the only way I think you could ever get the things in your ear.

Other than that, I'm pleased enough with them. They definitely are way more comfortable for me and stay in better than regular earbuds. Really makes you wonder though, if they even had actual consumers try the earplugs out before releasing them.

Summary: Perfect for certain uses
Review: For riding bikes, motorcycles, skiing, working out, or any other high ambient noise environment where you want no weight and no distracting noise, these are great! I agree the foam is too soft and has to be wadded up tightly and inserted quickly, but, once in, you hear nothing but music. Considering the price, they can't be beat for active people wanting to listen to tunes while engaging in outdoor sports, flying, etc.

Summary: Good sound, bad ear cushions
Review: The ear cushions that come with this product are terrible. I used an awl to make a hole in the earplug, and then cutoff a bit off the top of the earplug. I cut it off a bit too much, just cut it off a little.

The sound from this product is great for an earbud style headphone.

To increase isolation, I use a hearing protector ear muff on top of The Plug and I really can't hear anything after doing it.

The main point, buy foam earlugs and these things will be a lot more comfortable and will let you enjoy your music more by eliminating background noise.

Summary: Best for my needs that I have found!
Review: I use mine to listen to the radio while riding my motorcycle. It's the best thing I've found for that. I've replaced the stock foam earplugs with conventional squeezable foam earplugs. I just cut a hole with a #11 xacto blade and forced the plastic tube through. This seals much better.

Summary: Koss "The Plug" is a gimic!
Review: When I saw these in the store, I thought cool, but after I got home I came to realise that not only the sound quality is bad, but the damn things don't stay in your ear! Overall I must say this was a waste of my 25 bucks!

Summary: Perfect For Airplanes
Review: Different headphones have different uses. Don't buy these . . .headphones and then connect them to your $10,000 home system andexpect much. These are designed for noisy environments such as an airplane. I found them comfortable, easy to use, and excellent at blocking out crying babies and annoying passengers. For the price these are great for the proper purpose. If you just want good headphones buy some Grados, but if you travel alot like me these are perfect for that use.

Summary: bad sound
Review: tried to replace my trusty old open air walkman megabass headphones with these Koss plugs. big mistake. not only do the plugs not fit in my ears properly, the sound is poor. No bass, sounds like mono. My advice if you want hi-quality sound with your Rio 500: go out and by sony walkman type headphones with the megabass feature. they're cheaper and they sound better.

Summary: Please don't buy these
Review: The Plug is definitely a gimmick! They simply don't stay in your ears. Even when you stick them in your ear as far as they will go they still move around and bother the heck out of you.
