Rating: Summary: Not perfect but I love the mobility! Review: I really enjoy the mobility and the light weight. The sound isn't bad either. Typical of the better Sennheisers with decent bass and a nicely balanced high end. The downside of the cordless design though is that they lack the extreme detail of the best headphones and the highs aren't extended enough to get a silky topend. I hesitated to buy these though based upon some comments by reviewers. There is some truth to these comments but they don't bother me. Yes, the headphone cup is a bit small and they do seem a bit tight at first. But I'm an over six foot male with a large head and average size ears. My ears fit fine and after just a couple of minutes they don't feel tight at all. I can wear them for hours comfortably. And reception isn't perfect. I can use them most anywhere in my large house but there are some deadspots based more on how I turn my head than distance. The good news though is that just a tiny head adjustment clears it up. And lastly I recommend the SR65 as the sweet spot in the line. It has the autotuning feature which I suspect is important to decent reception and it has the surround sound feature which basically seems to feed the deeper bass to both channels. It does give more ambience and better bass. It definitely does enhance the sound of some recordings. The SR85 lacks the surround and substitutes dynamic noise reduction. That's evidently a compander system that according to the SR85 reviews seems to compress the dynamics. No problem here on dynamics.
Rating: Summary: cracks and pops Review: I use these beautiful headphones for mainly my computer. With beautiful 20" screen and 5.1 I needed headphones that could match with those standards. These headphones are great. I have read the other posts about them breaking, etc. All I can say is these headphones break only because of YOUR misuse, your carelessness. Though they are made out of plastic (which does lighten them) they haven't once come close to snapping or warping out of shape. I do wish the battery life was a little longer, but with two batteries that really isn't that big of a deal. The sound's great on these and I never seem to experience distortion and fading like I have with other wireless. I haven't really tried using these headphones in a home-like setting (apartments relaly make that impossible) but even going down the hallway I can hear just fine. If you HAD to buy a pair of wireless headphones, and buying the RS-85's was out of the question, these are definitely a solid buy.

Rating: Summary: Excellent headsets for private listening Review: I wanted to fill the room with sound using six speakers. She wanted the TV sound so low that you couldn't hear it if moved more than three feet from the TV. I suggested she put cotton in her ears so I could blast the TV. As that didn't go over to big, I bought headsets. I have been using the Sennheiser RS-65 for about six months now and have been very pleased. I find them comfortable to wear for the couple of hours needed to watch a movie. It comes with two rechargeable batteries, so I can use one battery and charge the other at the same time. I am not going to say that the sound quality is the same as an expensive home theater system that fill up your room with sound. The fact that it is wireless means that the frequency range is somewhat limited and you will hear hiss and other noises at times. You may have to tilt your head slightly to remove some of the hiss. If you are a perfectionist, this is probable not for you. That being said, I find the sound to be wonderful. The stereo separation is great and the voices do seem to come from the center. The bass is very good and the sound is very clear. Dialogue can be heard very well and voices are natural. You hear all the sounds that are on the sound track. When I take off the headset and listen through the TV, I feel that I am missing half of the sounds. While this does not compare to an expensive stereo, it does give me wonderful sound to listen to my movies, at a good price. As it has its own power supply, I can play the movies as loud as I want and still keep her happy.
Rating: Summary: Sennheiser RS-65 Review: I would ditto all of the other reviews; this is a good set of wireless headphones. The only downside is that after using them for a couple of months to give a decent review, I read that I should have received a second battery that wasn't in the box (it does say it on the box, but no mention in the instructions). No big deal for a $20 battery though. It is worth noting that they use a proprietary battery vs. something you can buy at Radio Shack. I am happy with the purchase.
Rating: Summary: Very disappointing Review: I'd like to think the poor performance was a result of my unique (noisy signal) environment rather than the possibility that $150 headphones could be that bad. Or maybe they were just defective. I thought I had set my expectations rather low, fully anticipating some static. But, no matter where I went in my house and no matter which of the three channels I used, I got about 60% noise and 40% content at best.
Rating: Summary: Great Sound and Features! Review: I've been researching wireless headphones for a few weeks, and I decided to spend a little more money than I originally anticipated. I have not been disappointed in the least with the RS-65. The sound is great! I previously used a wired pair of Sennheiser headphones (HD 545), and I think the quality is quite close. At first, I was concerned that the all the computer and electrical equipment surrounding me in my cubicle could cause a problem. These phones work at around 925 MHz, and there is no interference or distortion. I also was concerned about the battery life, the documentation claims that the headphones run for about 4 hours on a single charge, but they include two batteries, so I can listen to music all day. The one area where this pair does not compare favorable to the HD 545s is in comfort. The wired pair has larger plush ear cups, where the RS-65 has smaller cups, and a bit more spring tension on your head. I find I need to adjust them every 20-30 minutes or so- not exactly a big problem. All in all, great sound quality, great features and performance, definitely worth the money!
Rating: Summary: Must be good! Review: It must be good because I'm giving this review while I order another one. Bought it for my father-in-law, and now he wants another one to go in another room, with a different source. He loves it.
Rating: Summary: There's a reason these are on special.... Review: It's because they are uncomfortable to wear. Reviewer who complained about the earpiece size and shape was right. They ride right on your earlobe and it doesn't take too long before it gets to be painful. I cleverly tried to loosen mine up a little and broke the plastic headpiece. Bad news is it doesn't look so nice, but good news is that now it doesn't hurt to wear them for awhile. Sound, etc. is just fine for most people but I wouldn't buy them again.
Rating: Summary: Not perfect, but works as advertised. Review: Overall I love these headphones, but it is important to note that they don't sound as great as the best wired headphones, but the extra freedom of movement is the entire point of these headphones. It does take a bit of thought on how to get the best sound from the headphones. Basically it boils down to keeping the signal clean and sufficient volume (but not so high that it starts to distort) before it reaches the headphone transmitter (high signal to noise ratios). Don't give a quiet signal and expect battery powered headphones to amplify it to high volumes without adding noise. Then, make use of the frequency selection. I haven't heard much static at all after finding a clear signal.
