Rating: Summary: Fine piece of electronic goodness Review: I have never before been graced with such a fine piece of hardware... Even though with Sennheisers (this pair in particular, because of the specific drivers) you have to break them in, out of the box, this pair could rival my full circum-aural aiwas, which is hard to do. the cord is a little short, in my opinion, but if you are using this for purely mobile purposes, or for a relatively close headphone jack, you should be fine.all in all, a rediculously excellent pair of headphones
Rating: Summary: Great for all types of music Review: I have owned my PX 200 headphones for over a year now, and I am totally satisfied with them. I tried various brands and types of ear and headphones before finding these - I bought about a dozen different ones in a year or so. I have not bought any since buying these. They are comfortable for long periods of time. I have worn them for the full plane trip from Singapore to London and back a couple of times - about 12-14 hours each way. They cut out significant amounts of outside noise - I can still hear quiet music and voice while on the plane. I listen to a wide range of types of music - rock, jazz, classical, blues, easy listening, pop - and it all sounds excellent on the PX 200s. From the quietest passages to the loudest, the sound is clear and full-bodied (that's technical talk!!) in bass, mid and high ranges. They are easy to carry, as they come with a plastic case into which the headphones fold and slide - can be a little tricky at first. I bought a 90-degree adapter plug for the end of the cord, which is a good 4 feet long - just the right length. Overall, the PX 200 headphones are brilliant!! They have become my best friend on trips or when I don't want to listen to TV or when I want to relax and snooze with my music or whenever, really!! You won't be disappointed, either.
Rating: Summary: Perfect headphones Review: I ordered these headphones after weeks of research. Their primary use is in a dorm room, listening to mp3s while doing homework so as not to disturb the roommate. I was a little worried that the small cups would limit sounds or not provide a closed headphone environment, but the PX200s didn't let me down. You do have to remember to wear them low on the ears. Very comfortable--a slight pinch on my big head after a while, but not bad at all. They block enough of the little distracting sounds, and I can turn my music up to levels that would destroy my hearing and my roommate still can't hear a thing. I am listening through them while I type this. I am not sure if "breaking in" headphones is myth or not; however, the bass seems to sound even better than last week. Before the Sennheisers, I was using $40 sony headphones purchased from a local retailer, and I will never go back, nor let anyone I know get anything but Sennheisers. Try them and you'll be hooked.
Rating: Summary: They were ok.. Review: I thought this headphones did alright, I didn't pay much for mine so I cannot really complain anyway but I don't know why people on here are saying the sound is bad, I get an excellent output from my headphones.
Rating: Summary: Sennheiser Px 200 Review: I truly wanted some pretty decent portable headphones for my MP3 player. Most headphones that come with music players are a joke, so it was back into the piggy bank again to find something worthy to listen to my collection. Before buying the Px 200's, I was using a pair of Koss KSC-55 behind the ear headphones. Lots of bass, pretty reasonable for the price, but they developed a small crackle with lower quality music, so going to a forum ... gave me some insight into what the veterans of music recommend for portable headphones. To be honest, my first impressions were of disappointment after receiving them. No bass, kind of tinny and only a small amount better at driving my mp3 player than the Koss headphones. I don't know how much scientific truth comes with breaking in a pair of headphones, but letting these run for a few hours has already loosened them up to the point that my initial 'I'm going to send these things back' has changed to 'wow, let me give this break in thing a chance'. The Sennheisers are better balanced at sound than the Koss 55's. The Koss's are bass heavy, but lack midrange but are still commendable for the price. The sennheisers are very stylish and very comfortable to wear. They require good positioning to get the correct bass and sound out of them, but to me it's not difficult to do and once they are on, they stay on. Price through [Amazon.com] ... is reasonable considering they aren't easy to get in retail stores and seem to be backordered online. I'm not super experienced with headphones and with so many options out there I came to the conclusion I wanted to keep the price [down] didn't want in the ear headphones, didn't want phones that made me look like I was a DJ in the making, so narrowing that down, the Sennheiser Px200's are off to a good start. I'm hoping for even more sound off them when they are truly broken in ( that is if there is such a thing, or it could be just a tiny bit psychological ). I've only used them for a couple of hours, so it's time to shut down the computer and get back to the music. Thanks for listening...
Rating: Summary: Fits perfectly!!! Review: I wanted a pair of headphones for my new mini ipod. I already have the inear fontopia sony earphones whichever probably best in its category. I had panasonic headphones but there where the normal (bigger) sized and therefore in summer there are not comfortable. One can only were the big headphones for so long. I was amazed to find how well PX 200 fits. It has amazing frequency response and bass. Case is very well designed. I am highly satisfied with them and would recommed to anyone who is looking for good quality easy to carry headphones. I prefer listening to this ones even over my sony fontopia earphones. It has quality sound.
Rating: Summary: I wanted something comfortable and portable Review: I wanted something comfortable and very portable to use with my iPod. I hate earbuds, so the ones that came with the iPod weren't something I wanted to use. After doing a lot of research I settled on these for their reported combination of comfort, the fact that they fold up, and their sound quality. I haven't been disappointed. I love the way music sounds on these and they're so comfortable- never have I had as comfortable a pair of headphones. I am completely satisfied. I got these over the 100s because well, higher number = higher quality, right? Heh, not sure, but I'd definitely recommend them to anyone I know and in fact did just recommend them as a Christmas present for my sister.
Rating: Summary: A Little Disappointed Review: I was looking for some new headphones for my Apple iPod. I wanted a sealed headphone with some noise supression as well. I looked and read some reviews on these headphones and thought I would give them a try. I was dissapointed with them. To me the PX200 is tiny, like most closed headphones I have listened to. I wanted more punch in the bass but they lack bass. The mids are a bit muddy and the hights are bright. Maybe I got a bad set of headphones....I am not sure, but they are not what alot of reviews said they were.
Rating: Summary: Something important about bass with this headphones !! Review: I was quite afraid about the lack of bass with this headphones, acording to what I red about it. But just for the size and collapsible possibility I bought it. When I listened first I was quite disappointed, so I let the headphone for break in with bass rich music (techno). After about 15 hours it sounded better but I found something interesting : the quality of bass depend in the way you put the headphone on the ear : it must be put on the lower part of the ear and not on the middle or higher part..Try it and you will se a great difference. I think the people who complain about the lack of bass first didn't let the headphones for break in enough, and the don't put it in the right position on the ears. This has to be put lower on the ear than with other headphones.
Rating: Summary: Fantastic after burn-in! Review: I was rather dissappointed with these headphones when I first received them. They sounded great when hooked up to my soundcard (Audigy 2 ZS Platinum), but were really lacking when using them with my iPod (which is what I bought these for). The sound was pretty flat and the bass was poor. HOWEVER, after I started burning them in by playing bass-heavy music through them every night while I slept for a about a week, the sound began to improve greatly. Now the sound coming from my iPod is very good and the bass is greatly improved!
I use these headphones mostly in a fairly noisy lab environment and they do a great job at blocking out a lot of background noise. They are lightweight and don't get in the way when I'm moving around the lab. The case is a nice touch and while its a little tricky to get the phones in there at first, its becomes a breeze after 2-3 tries.
Are these the best sounding headphones for this price? Probably not. If I was going to use them on my home stereo or computer, would I have gotten something else? Most definitely. But I wasn't looking for that, I was looking for a pair of headphones for my iPod that were a compromise between sound quality, portability, and comfort, and the PX-200s are exactly what I was looking for!
Bottom Line: Great headphones for use with a portable device. Just remember to let these guys burn-in for 40+ hours and you won't be dissappointed.
