Rating: Summary: Good Idea - Bad Implementation Review: 1. Love the design. It doesn't add to the size of the Visor, since it envelops the bottom half of the PDA. There are buttons on the top of the ThumBoard that let you hit the "menu" "calc" and other functions down in the graffiti area. Also, it naturally sits in your hand and is easy to type on.2. Very odd glitch that on occasion it will attempt to do a sync instead of turn on/off. 3. Mine did not work. I've got 5 computers in my apt (5 PCs, 1 Mac) and know how to use my Palm very well. The ThumBoard simply refused to work...it only wanted to sync. After a total of about 4-5 hours over 2 days of working on it (between myself, my boyfriend, and techsupport @ Seiko) it simply did not want to work. I could not get the Visor to recognize it. I realize this may be one faulty unit - but when the only place I can seem to find it is online, that is too much hassle to exchange items and hope that it works. From what I've seen online, people love the design of this keyboard. If it works, you'll love it. If you can't get it to work (or it constantly syncs), you're just better off using Graffiti or upgrading to a PDA with a built in keyboard (Treo or Clie).

Rating: Summary: DOES NOT WORK ON VISOR PRISM Review: Bought this thinking that it would work on my prism (that is the color one) and it does not fit. Otherwise, i would have liked it to work, it is really nice. Like a blackberry!
Rating: Summary: almost a year now Review: I like this unit for my Visor Pro because it is big and my fat fingers are too thick to use the Treo effectively. Wished this unit would have worked with the Visor Pro right out of the box as advertised; instead, I had to go to the Seiko website and download a new driver...then it worked like a charm. What ever happened to the promise of "plug & play"???
Rating: Summary: almost a year now Review: I purchased this keyboard last January. I could live without it, but I've found that it makes entering text a lot easier. I have had some of the same problems that others have had with it. I've found that if you wiggle the keyboard while its connected to your visor, and the visor is on, then problems with hotsync are more likely. My biggest issue with this product is that I couldn't ship it outside USA. I had to ship it to a US address and then get it forwarded to Canada. Well I have it now, and you can't have it back.
Rating: Summary: Horrible product and customer service Review: I rarely use this product because it seldom worked when it did work. Most of the time when pushing on the power button via the keypad my handspring would enter into hotsync mode. Now, even with the updated driver, the Thumboard just fails to work! Ive called Seiko-Austin in the past and they told me it was just a fault with their product and nothing they could do about it. The nerve of some people! Ive emailed Amazon but sadly the return date under their policy has expired. I now keep the ThumBoard handy as a cautionary reminder which effectively prevents me from engaging in impulsive online shopping.

Rating: Summary: Not bad, could be better Review: I thought it would be too small, but you get used to it and I can now type almost as fast as on my desktop. I grew out of my low end visor and decided to give it to my daughter who made sure the thumboard went with. I bought a new one to go with my platinum. Sure, it's a dinky little thing, but that's what I like about it. It does have an annoying habit of thinking it is being hot sync-ed. But, it takes no time at all to reset, so I don't give it bad marks for this. This is a great low dollar solution to needing a keyboard for your handheld.
Rating: Summary: Nice keyboard to have around Review: I thought this product might make it easier and faster to enter data into my Handspring Visor but frankly it was wasted money. First, the keyboard is harder to use than the touch screen keyboard. If you have 'average' size fingers you'll spend a lot of time correcting errors. Second, it adds bulk to your PDA - and isn't that why you have a PDA in the first place, to improve portability? Just another thing to drag along. Third, it lacks intuitiveness (is that a word?) - well, some things are just about impossible to figure out... Overall, if you need to enter data into your PDA you're better off using your PC or buying a full size or folding keyboard (if you need portability a folding unit isn't that much bigger). I'd really hoped this product would solve my spur of the moment input needs, but I guess I'll have to learn to use the stylus.
Rating: Summary: An interesting keyboard alternative Review: I'm not very good with the graffiti function on my Handspring, so I purchased this little gizmo to save myself the trouble. While the lure of the Targus stowaway (or something similar) may seem impossible to ignore, the Thumboard is ideal for "snap and go" people like me. There's no unfolding or need for elbow room with this little guy--it's near the size of a Gameboy and just as easy to hold. While typing may feel a little awkward at first, it's nothing that time and a little practice won't fix. But! Be warned that the glitch that you've read about in other reviews is a rather common one. I have the same problem with the "On/Off" button sometimes activating my HotSync function. Other than that minor annoyance, it's rather a handy little piece of technology to add to your Handspring collection--and at this price, it's hard to pass up!
