Rating: Summary: It serves it's purpose Review: After reading so many reviews about this hard case. I still decided to buy one, because my main objective was for the protection of my $400.00 investment. I travel a lot and the problem with the cradle does not apply to me. Because I use the Irda port to hot synch with my PowerBook G3 and I use the travel charger which is a simple plug and play. For what it was design to do, as a hard case (not as a card holder), it 's first rate. As for the "plastic", it's impact resistent polymer, like the ones found on palm III, notebook computers, car bumpers, hard case luggages, airplanes, space shuttles, space stations, etc.... get the message. One last thing, the special edition color is awesome!!! The color shown on the web is nothing compare to the real thing. Unfortunately, it could be a big "STEAL ME" sign, but I can live with it because it's different and it's clued to my hand. A solid 5 STARS!!!
Rating: Summary: I wrote a review for the hard case... Review: But this is actually what I had. No protection is offered by this device. I carried this in an inner jacket pocket for two weeks and wound up with a cracked Vx screen.
Rating: Summary: Great Case Review: Cool looking case. Color looks cool, and the aluminum plates really make it look nice...Sounds shady, but it actually arrived fast & brand new.My only complaint about this case is that the lid does not fold back behind the palm when opened like soft cases & some hard cases; it only flips out flat next to the palm or straight up in the air. This is mostly a problem only when using the cradle, as you have to take it out of the case to get it in there. Besides that one little pet peve, I'm very happy I got it!
Rating: Summary: No Closure Review: Fitted and metallic BUT doesn't close. This causes no problems unless the Palm is being tossed around in your bag, in which case it flaps open and the Palm screen is exposed to who-knows-what. I recommend the RhinoSkin.
Rating: Summary: Pretty color, cheap construction, design flaws Review: I bought this 6 months ago and only have some minor scratches on it. Considering everything I do is on my Palm, well worth the investment for hard and durable case. Great color too.
Rating: Summary: Nice case, a pain to hotsync Review: I bought this case with my Palm and I'm delighted with it. It's strong (I know it since I dropped it twice and it survived). The colour is eye-catching, making it the envy of your co-workers and a target for every thief in the area. I only have two complains: 1) The hinge-stops are all but durable... after two month use they are worn out and the cover barely stops on them... not much of a hassle but... 2) Using the cradle with this case it's a pain. You have to open it like a butterfly and leave the cradle on the edge of the table to place the palm without removing it from the case, just cumbersome... I opted for taking the palm out of the case every time I place it on the cradle but that's only twice a day for me, if you do it many time a day maybe you should look for another case.
Rating: Summary: The best looking case out there Review: I love it! I love it! This case looks so cool. I just bought my Palm Vx from Handango for $259 and this case for $18(with a $5 off coupon from the original $23) at amazon.com and it's the perfect companion for my palm. This rich blue, metallic look further compliments my millennium edition blue palm Vx while protecting it at the same time. If you are lucky enough to find the blue palm (not to be confused with aqua blue Claudia Schiffer edition that's available at staples), then this case is definitely for you. Now that I have this case, I can finally handle my palm without care. Before I would hold my palm by its edges, gently like a baby. I was very careful not put fingerprints around the edges or the screen. But now that I have this fancy looking case, I can finally grip it in my palms (no pun intended), and carry it around like a Walkman. I've heard stories about how people had to take the palm out of the case in order to hotsync. Not so with me. I just put the cradle up on a book and presto; I can fold both covers back 90 degrees and hotsync away. The size is very compact and this was one of the reasons why I chose it over the leather cases. It retains the original sexy, form of the Vx yet giving it great protection. I was worried that my case wouldn't shut tightly, but no problems here. The case is closed and shut with no gaps. I feel sorry for people who have a weaker spring in their cases. I purchased a $20 cover that sells for $40 and palm.com and $30 at most local retail stores. Although this cover is not cheap, it's worth the investment. My only drawback is that the cover is not aluminum like it's advertised. It's actually plastic with an aluminum-ish panel on the front and back. It's not that bad since even car manufacturers use plastic/rubber-ish material on the front and rear bumpers of automobiles. Personally, I think it'd absorb more shock than a straight out metal. Yes this case is overpriced for what it's worth. Yes there are other, more expensive cases that can do a better job of protecting the palm (rhino for example) Yes this is one sexy, case. And No I would not change my mind for one sec.
Rating: Summary: Excellent! Review: I purchased the Palm V hard case in order to protect my palm without being unnecesarily bulky. It fits the job well. As has been noticed with other people, the case is in fact plastic with aluminum pieces glued on, but it's ok. The protection is very good and the aluminum pieces don't detract from it. Also, it looks much better in person than the photo. The photo looks sort of aqua-ish from here, in person it's more like a navy blue. I haven't dropped my palm yet, but I expect the case to handle it very well if I do.
Rating: Summary: Functional, but design flaw Review: I stand by my decision to buy it. The case looks cool, performs what I require it to do, and even has a flap in the back for grafitti reference. However, I also agree that there is a design flaw, whether in the case or the cradle, that prevents easy charging/syncing when the palm is in the case. Yes, you have to move the cradle to the edge of the surface in order to properly seat it. OR, you can use the travel charger/syncher, which just plugs in and does not touch the back of the palm.
Rating: Summary: A+ must-have accessory Review: I'm pretty disappointed in my Hardcase SE... Two major complaints: 1. The case isn't that hard. It is plastic and feels pretty cheap. 2. The palm must be removed before syncing. One minor complaint is that it isn't left-handed friendly. It does look pretty good and matches my Nokia 8290.
