Summary: iPAQ accessory
Review: I got this 70-key accessory with my iPAQ H3765. I thought it would be "required" to do serious work on the iPAQ. Having just started using the iPAQ I'm not sure how much the keyboard is a must have item.The Targus keyboard is a fairly good design. It is light, and feels like it is made from metal & plastic. The outer shell looks like it could take a 4' drop. This keyboard does fit in any of my coat pockets. Most pockets wont fit this and the iPAQ (with a CF expansion sleeve.) The unit is a little difficult to close "properly" - however - unfolding is a snap. Putting your iPAQ on to the device is simple. The keyboard was stable enough to use proped against the car steering wheel and type at a moderate pace. The Stowaway was not designed to use the powercord at the same time. The forces between the keyboard, powercord and the iPAQ look like they will - either cause the iPAQ to slip off the keyboard, or damage the powercable over time. Amazon "sold" me on this keyboard, however, Targus' technical specifications do not list the 3700 series as working with the keyboard... Why do I question this as needed? Well, for me typing is a lot faster than writing. Most of the time I have used the iPAQ the ergonomics would make a keyboard impossible to use. Walking, passenger in a vehicle... ...

Summary: Targus keyboard fro iPaq
Review: Nice feel when typing. Good size key spacing. Folds up nicely. Down sides are the connection to PC (hard to connect rapidly) and the stability of the keyboard (pads will stick if keyboard is not on a 100% flat, hard surface).

Summary: Great keyboard but not for the 3800 iPaq (yet)
Review: A great keyboard and essential component of a truly portable email/web terminal but does not work with the Compaq 38xx series - there has been some talk of an adapter from Targus at some time, but Compaq has changed the cradle connection and it physically does not fit.

Summary: Turns PDA into true productivity tool
Review: I don't know anyone who likes writing graffiti or pecking out letters with a stylus. It's acceptable for entering somebody's phone number, but not for writing a letter, taking notes, etc. The Targus keyboard has turned my Jornada into a powerful business tool. I leave my laptop in my office! I take notes, keep my personal journal, track expenses, mileage, and billable hours on my Jornada. I wouldn't bother to use my Jornada much without it. The keyboard itself actually has a great touch. And it folds up to about the size of the PDA. It fits easily into my briefcase, and it is very rugged. It is well worth the money! And if you can get it for "free" by buying a PDA, so much the better!

Summary: does NOT work with Visor Edge
Review: was saddened to learn upon opening this long awaited gift on my birthday that it works with Visor models EXCEPT for the visor edge, and Targus doesn't yet make an Edge model. trading slim size and slick-ness for functionality once again :(

Summary: I would give it 5 stars if it was easier to dock!
Review: I had my handspring visor deluxe for several months before I purchased the keyboard. I had a very rough time taking notes in graffiti or switching to the on-screen keyboard.
The Targus Stowaway keyboard folds and expands very nicely. It folds down to the same size as my visor and fits very easily into a purse. I have had a difficult time docking my visor into it. I'm afraid of breaking the connectors. This is the main reason that I did not give this product a five star rating.
It is a comfortable size for such a portable keyboard and very easy to use. It does require a flat and solid surface to work with. I like the location of the wells, designed to hold my stylus. You still need a stylus for some functions.
Before I got the keyboard, I was going through batteries every 4 to 6 weeks, depending on how many times I hotsync or used the backlight. If I use the keyboard, I drain the batteries at a very rapid rate. This is worth having if you are a student and must take notes very rapidly.

Summary: Watch the connection
Review: I love this device but I had problems with the male connector that plugs into the Compaq. It was to "snap" in place, but it broke in place instead. Watch the flimsly connector! Otherwise, it's an absolute necessity to have for serious PDA users.

Summary: Lets you use your PDA like a laptop
Review: I bought the Stowaway for my Handspring Visor, and I have been very well pleased. The keyboard is small enough to fit in a purse or satchel easily when folded, plus it expands easily and quickly for use. When expanded, the keyboard is large enough so that typing is comfortable, which is a relief compared to scribbling lengthy notes in the designated writing area. Unfortunately, the Stowaway does require a flat surface to work on, but Starbucks provides those on almost every corner! ;-) Other drawbacks include: - Fitting your PDA onto the keyboard takes some getting used to. At first I was afraid I would break it. Now it's not a problem. - The Stowaway makes working on your PDA so easy that you may forget the drain all that typing puts on your batteries. (I carry spares wherever I go, just in case!) On the plus side, having the Stowaway lets me use my Handspring much as I would use a laptop, but for nowhere near the cost! I can take notes at meetings or in a classroom, and those notes are uploaded to my desktop when I hotsync. Great for students, or business people who are on the road with clients. BKA

Summary: Must Have
Review: This is a very helpful product if you type a lot. If you use your IPAQ for phone numbers and appointments only then you can do without the keyboard, but if you type emails, and notes then I recommend you buy this product:
- Its doesn't weigh very much.
- Its about the size of the IPAQ
- Its quite sturdy, hard case can take a lot of damage
- You throw it in your briefcase.
- You can setup the keyboard buttons to go to certain programs of your choice.
The only bad thing is that it is slightly expensive.

Summary: Works great, but seems to drain the battery
Review: I love this keyboard. It has a great touch to it and is large enough to be truly easy to type on. Its tiny and light weight, and opens up easily. I use it to take notes in meetings now. The only disadvantage is the everyone wants me to be the purpetual minute-taker now. I'm still learning some of the more advanced keystrokes and some applications just are not created for keyboarding (they are very stylus-centric), but that's okay, because those apps aren't why I got this. The only problem I've had is (I think) with battery drain. If you have trouble with the keyboard not responding properly or consistently, that seems to be a sign of low batteries. And I haven't really been getting as much battery life out of my Visor as I would have expected. I've only had them for 3-4 weeks, so I'm not sure, but I think this keyboard is a bit of a drain. I'd have given it a 5 but for the battery issue. I'll check back in a couple of months on that. Get this keyboard!
