Rating: Summary: Tried and True Review: First of all I've owned this sportcase since my first PDA and it's stayed in good condition over the years. I'm in the military and I've used this case in various climate conditions.
First of all it repels sand. Since the sand in Afghanistan is more like powder anyway this should give you an idea of what it stood up to.
PROS:
1) Durability: It's lasted time and harsh conditions. Provided you don't dunk it in water it's been through rain and snow not to mention arid climates. It's made from a tough black canvas type material that has never torn, frayed, been punctured or even faded from oxidation. The zippers have never broken and the plastic has never snapped. I had this thing with me in a HMMWV being thrashed in the back with lots of other gear. There isn't a scratch on my device.
2) Pockets: It has a front zipper pocket for my metro change, two pockets on the inside spine for spare batteries, a mesh pocket in the front for pens, stamps, tins of aspirin, etc. It also has one large pocket the back that stores my PDA USB charger.
The inside has a mesh pocket and the right has 4 elastic bands for holding whatever device you choose to place there. I keep my PDA in the mesh pocket and it's never left that spot. I keep my folding keyboard under the elastic straps.
They inserted a band for your extra stylus.
3. Straps: I'm all about the hand strap on the side that allows me to keep it handy or have it simply there for when I need to be moving. There are also straps on the back in case you want to use these to attach to a backpack or if you want to tether something else to it.
4. Lightweight: It's only going to be as heavy as whatever you put inside it. It doesn't soak up water to make it heavier either. This thing isn't rainproof but it's not designed for dunk tanks.
5. Consumer Oriented: The case seems equally at home in the hands of a city commuter as it does to an outdoors adventurist. It's greatest asset is that it's adaptable to the needs of the consumer.
Cons:
1) Limited space: If you're a pack rat and want EVERYTHING inside then you're going to have to make some choices. Additional cases for your keyboard and PDA will fit but it will start getting bulky.
2) Didn't come with a $20 bill inside when I bought it.
Overall I've been more than satisfied with this sportcase and it's allowed me to spend money on other accessories without having to go on replacing case after case.
Won't let you down.
