Summary: A calculated rip-off
Review: Another reviewer pointed out the fact that this bundles some items for the original Zire and others for the Zire 71, so unless you own both models, half the included stylii and screen protectors are useless to you. The enclosed case does have a belt loop, but it doesn't clip on (you have to thread your belt through it). And the case itself is made of amazingly flimsy translucent plastic - I figure it will last a few weeks at most. I'm now wary of buying any other Palm-branded accessories.

Summary: Not an Essential Purchase
Review: I recently purchased a Zire 71 handheld (wonderful!) along with this "essential" accessory. Unfortunately, I think I have wasted [$$$]. First off, I really bought this only for the pouch and screen protectors. As far as the pouch goes, its really no different than what is included with your Zire 71. Yeah the color is a bit better and opening a little wider for easy in & out, but other than that, no improvements. I am still on the hunt for a really good case for the Zire. As far as the screen protectors go, that was a source of much frustration for me. I wasted both of the 2 included protectors trying to put them on. First off, you cannot touch them with your fingers or the oils will leave a permanent mark when you put it on. On top of that, my first protector has a few small round cirlce defects (not airbubbles) which I noticed after putting it on. Then, I could always see those circles (irritating!) so I had to take it off. Taking off a protector is a horrible experience also. I was almost thinking I was going to ruin my beautiful new screen just taking off the protector. It just sticks really strong without any adhesive. Also, putting on the protector is just crazy if you want a beautiful/professional job. They give you a credit card like thing to help place the proctector and remove the air bubbles (which despite all my efforts always formed!!) on placing. Man, its just too much of a pain. I'd rather have some sort of snap-on device than this way. Anyway, I blew through both proctors included in this kit. Thankfully, I only lost like [$$$]on this. Anyway, save your money. Just handle your Palm Zire 71 with care and forget the protector. The pouch included with your Zire is just fine.

Summary: Save your money
Review: I thought genuine Palm accessories would be good. Now I wonder if Palm is just trying to get our money any way they can.

First, the package is misleading. It says "4 Premimum Screen Protectors." What they neglect to tell you is that you get 2 for the Zire and 2 for the Zire 71. Kudos to Amazon.com for putting things straight in their description. I should have shopped here first.

The case is pretty good, but it covers up the headphone port for the Zire 71. Not good if you want to go jogging with MP3s. The only improvements over the original Zire 71 case is that it doesn't turn on the organizer on insertion and it has a handy belt loop if you want to look super-geeky.

The screen protectors are highly-adhesive garbage. Try the ones made by Belkin. They have less adhesive. One of mine looked like someone took sandpaper to a small portion of it. It was so bad that I didn't even try to apply it for fear of getting sticky stuff on my screen for life. Why can't they make a static-cling screen protector?

I am taking this thing back to the store where I bought it. Hopefully they will give me a refund.

Review: The case, slightly bigger and easier to deal with than the one that comes with the Palm Zire 71. The extra styli thrown in make it worthwhile. The only complaint here is that there are only two screen protectors. A few more included would make this a purchase worth making.
