Rating: Summary: Great for what it is - an alternative to the Palm Review: This PDA is what I personally was looking for, but it's not for everyone. Here's why I chose it:- It's not tiny. Unlike most people, I really didn't want something I could slip in my pocket and barely notice it was there - because for me, that is a recipe for a lost PDA. Plus, when I tried out the Palms and Sony PDAs they were not very sturdy to hold by comparison. - It's Windows-driven. Again, a personal choice. I wanted something with a minimal learning curve, and being PC proficient this was the best choice. - It's got a nice, big, color screen. I certainly paid extra for this feature, and I'm glad I did, as I didn't want to squint at the screen at all to tell what I was looking at. - It has a huge memory. I was able to load entire MS Word and Excel files from work and then hot-sink them to my home PC when I had to bring work home with me. - The support online and on the phone was excellent. I'm a novice with this kind of technology, but never felt like I was asking a 'dumb' question when I had a problem. Granted, I only use a fraction of the features this item has, so I can't speak to some of the more fancy features like the wireless email. Plus, I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend that wherever you buy your PDA, online or in a store, you go in person to a store to try out the different models. Without doing this I probably would have just bought a Palm - a great choice for some, but not for me - and because I made the effort to go and shop around in person I made a good choice for my needs and quirks. A couple of caveats: - Get a decent carrying case other than what they provide, it's pretty flimsy. - Get an extra back-up battery! They do run out, and quicker than you think. - It doesn't come with an extra hot-sink cradle and for the price, it really should. You'll need it if you are using it both at work and home.
Rating: Summary: The Best PDA Ever Review: This is a solid gold PDA, I checked the newest Compaq, the functionality can not even come close to Casio's. CFC Slot, 32 MB memory included. Brilliant screen, and meat body. Can't beat this monster. You can even over clock it.
Rating: Summary: Not too portable Review: Great if you need the computing capability of a computer. Too large to fit into most pockets. Less software for the Windows CE than the palm.
Rating: Summary: This Pocket PC is the BOMB!!! Review: I am not a very technical but I love this thing. It has shown me so many new things that a handheld can do. I have downloaded MP3 music with ease through my media player on my pc and I have downloaded my e-mails and also I have registered with AVANTGO to get my websites to browse through. I LOVE it!!!!! and I can't wait to learn even more about this product. But I would suggest to anyone who is going to purchase this product or any Pocket PC for that matter, you might want to invest in getting the Pocket PC for Dummies book. It has helped me alot. Even though it is vague in it's direction it still gives you some sort of idea as to how to perform a particular function. And most of all, FOLKS, READ YOUR HAND BOOKS THEY WILL BE MOST HELPFUL!!!!!! As far as the lady asking how to delete a recording, just press and hold the particular title of the recording and a menu should come up, one of them being delete. Then click delete and there you go, it's gone.
Rating: Summary: The best PDA for the best price!! Review: Hello, my name is Nicholas. I have used many PDA's over the past year and i have watched every little detail about them. I've seen many neat features that PDA's have and most of those features are built into the e-125. This PDA is the absolute best for your money. You cant get all the extras the e-125 has anywere else. It is all preinstalled and works great. I have never had an error of any kind. The music is crystal clear, the recording is nice, the internet works great, and the screen is very easy to use. It has 32mb or ram and uses compactflash data cards. You can also attach the e-125 to your computer and download all sorts of things by using the software packeged with the PDA. It runs well were ever you go, and for only 299, the e-125 is the best PDA for your money!!
Rating: Summary: What a little POWER HOUSE! Review: (2-6-02) I have had my Cassiopeia E-125 for about a month now, and I am THRILLED with it! I did a great deal of research and shopping around before I bought, and do not have one single regret. I know that this is last year's machine, but for my dollar, I'm tickled to have a pocket pc that has every capability I need to organize a busy travel schedule and an extensive contact list. Taking notes is easy with a little practice using the stylus and learning the right strokes. There is a multitude of cool software out there... some of it is even free. The sync is flawless, the colors are wonderful, and everyone that sees mine wants one! I highly recommend this machine for those who want functionality more than they want the latest "must have."
Rating: Summary: Get Organized - This is the E-125 Page! Review: ...E-125 is good value for the money. I wish one of these companies would design A GOOD LOOKING CASE. This chrome stuff reminds me of a sardine can or a bad 1950s transistor radio.
Rating: Summary: Think SIZE doesn't matter...READ THIS Review: When reading reviews on how the cassiopeia was bulky, I thought it wouldn't matter, since I'm going to get all these great features of the pocket pc. WRONG. After getting it, I was definitely put off by how heavy and bulky it was. Also the quality of the case kind of put me off also. The back was made of a cheap plastic and the front case of some cheap aluminum alloy. Although it looked like a brick, it sure didn't feel as secure as one. The screen was excellent, and the pocket pc program great, but together they cause all pocket pc handhelds to fall short of the palm due to their size. Everything else about the cassiopeia was pretty good. Another problem I had with the cassiopeia was that the software that was provided by casio was poor...correct that it was worse than poor, it was "a piece." When buying a pocket pc, realize that casio is not in the business of making great computer products, or software for them. I think this would be a good pda for those that dont mind the pure size and weight of the brick, but I wouldn't think about buying it until it dropped a little more in price. I ended up getting the sony clie 760, which I find is the perfect balance between size,(it's very small, fits perfectly in my pocket, smaller than my wallet), and functionality( featuring an mp3 player and the palm os, which I have grown to love.)
Rating: Summary: Good product, TERRIBLE customer service Review: Let me begin by saying that the E-125 itself is really a nice PDA. When mine was working, it was great, I used it all the time, for everything from an address book to the e-book function to games. (FWIW, I thought the e-book feature was pretty nice, although the overall selection is limited.) My problem with the E-125 is the absolutely terrible customer service I've received. When I needed to send mine in for repair, my first problem was tracking down an actual person to talk to about the problem with the PDA. After chasing options through an interminable VRU, I managed to speak with a live tech. He gave an address to send it to....complete with the wrong ZIP code. It was lost in the mail for over 6 weeks. When they finally received it and sent me an estimate, the estimate did not include a descirption of the problem; I had to spend over 2 hours trying to track down someone who could answer my question. (...) The icing on the cake is that because I received my E-125 as a gift, for Casio to consider it under warranty (even though it was clearly a mechanical failure and not my fault, and even though it was not even a year old), they required me to send them a NOTARIZED letter confirming that I'd received it as a gift. Unbelievable. In summary: stay away from this thing. When it works, it's great. But heaven help you if you need customer service from Casio! I cannot emphasize enough how frustrating and ridiculous my experience has been!
Rating: Summary: Casio E-125-- a super product badly documented Review: When intuition fails there is no manual to fall back on. The included CD contains adequate instructions as long as you are working within sight of your Desk Top Computer. I have, however, found Casio Customer Service assistance by phone to be very good and available in a reasonable amount of time. I responded to an offer for a $50.00 rebate for the Casio if I subscribed to Audible.com services for a year. When combined with Casio's inadequate instructions, the inclusion of Audible.com into the picture results in a process not unlike playing Dungeons and Dragons. For instance, downloads from Audible.com to the Microsoft Reader included in the E-125 cannot be deleted by simply clicking the MS Reader's delete function. You must go through an arcane deletion process using Audible's so-called 'manager' software. Otherwise you must do a "hard reset" which wipes out all the Casio's RAM including settings. I love the Casio E-125, even with it's lack of instructions, but feel that the $50.00 Audible rebate does not even come close to compensating for the labor, puzzlement, frustration and downright disgust involved in using their so-called service.
