Rating: Summary: Even better with PPC 2003 Review: I liked the "old" e755 with 2002, and now it's even better with PPC 2003. Never had a problem with my unit, and the new OS does seem a bit faster, having been optimized for the XScale. Battery life is also a bit better, especially when using wi-fi, which is a very good thing.
Rating: Summary: another doa Review: first was totally doa second had the wireless went dead third had the rom disk go doaword to the wise - avoid this thing !
Rating: Summary: Great...but very poor support Review: Wow! What a great PPC but it comes with one unexpected problem. Toshiba could be providing the worst support in the industry. I connected to my local WiFi network and had problems doing an ActiveSync via Wi-Fi. This was critical to my business need and part of the reason I purchased this particular model. When I called for support, the technician that took my call told me that "they only provide basic Wi-Fi support" but that he would escalate the ticket to the second level and that someone would call me shortly. I continued to tinker while waiting and got the settings correct on my own (the included documentation was of no help). I have still not received a call back from Toshiba (almost two months later). This is completely unacceptable and would make me think twice about ever buying another Toshiba product... As for the unit--it is great! I have not had any problems except for a couple of soft resets, and I push this thing to the limit every day. The battery life is okay as long as you do not need to have the wireless on all the time. The screen is the best in all light--indoors and out. It is clear and bright. Performance is very good and storage is plentiful. Unit is top notch!
Rating: Summary: Best Price/Performance in a PPC Review: I bought the e755 a few weeks ago despite all the reviews here that mentioned lack of tech support and numerous bugs. In the time that I've used it, I've only noticed 1 "bug" which involves the 'Home' button, which sometimes fails to bring up the proper menu until a warm-reset is performed. Other than that, the unit was nearly flawless. The Wi-Fi works great, I didn't have to set anything up besides just switching a button to enable it. It detects the signal, and you're instantly online. Windows media player works wonderful with music and video (you can rotate the screen to get a wider picture!) and the built in speaker is fairly loud, though headphones are much more efficient This is my first PPC, so I don't know how battery life compares, but I am able to use it for 2-6 hours NONSTOP before I have to charge it. You can darken the screen backlight or set the processor to 200Mhz to get even more batterly life. Basically, this unit has everything you'll need in a PPC. Built in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, SD and CF Type I & II card slots, 96MB of memory, very large and clear 3.8" transreflective display, and increased 200Mhz BUS speed(processor runs at 400Mhz) and Windows Mobile 2003. I have had almost no problems with this model, and I highly recommend it, especially for only $... after a $... rebate if you buy it here. At 400Mhz, this thing is as fast as my home PC! yeah.. it's a little outdated but...
Rating: Summary: What a machine!!! Review: I've had my e755 for a few days now and I continue to be amazed at what it does and the speed with which it does it. I've used "bottom tier" PDAs for a couple of years now and it's a real pleasure to move up to this unit. Guess I don't have an eye for style cause I've read reviews slamming the "tin box" design, but I view it as a neat, clean no-nonsense hummer. There may be better PDAs available but I haven't seen one yet.
Rating: Summary: Plagued with problems. Review: After selling my e740, I was reluctant to purchase the e750 because of the problems the e740 was plagued with. Sad to say, looks like all toshiba did was put a better screen on and kept everything the same, including the problems. I still get the 1% battery warning, and activesync still drops my connection. Not to mention, my record button just broke and is popped inside the machine. I was hoping toshiba would have actually fixed the problems of the 740, but unfortunately, they did not. They would have an exellent handheld if they spent some time on it. I'm sorry, but I cannot reccomend this pda to anyone. I guess its time to switch over to the ipaqs (something I thought I'd never do).
Rating: Summary: LOVE THIS PDA!!!! Review: The integrated wi-fi feature is awesome and the screen is very bright and sharp. After reading some of the reviews, I was concerned about tech support, but when I called in for a problem I found them very thorough and helpful. Maybe they made some changes?? Anyways, I am very happy I bought this and would recommend it highly!
Rating: Summary: This [stinks] Review: OMG! I just spent how much money on this handheld for built-in WiFi that won't even work! I follow the instuctions and it says something like: cannot utilze wifi. Even after multiple resets it wont work! This is my second toshiba pda (had e740) and be rest assured I will not buy another toshiba product. Even when I call customer service with problems I and others are experiencing, i get the same thing: uhh, i've never heard of that happening befoe. I STRONGLY advise any potential buyers to stay away from toshiba.
Rating: Summary: No PPC2003 upgrade for e740, don't expect upgrade for e755! Review: I bought my e740 about 5 months ago and was very proud of it. But, now it is a dead-end brick as Toshiba wouldn't confirm any upgrade of the device (though it was advertised as upgradeable). The e755 seems to be a fine device but, be prepared without support & upgrade from Toshiba in the next 6 months or a year. Don't say that you have not been warned...
Rating: Summary: Two DOA's Review: My first unit came form Staples. It was totally DOA. Second one came form AMAZON and this time just the wireless was DOA. Toshiba clearly has a bit to learn in the QC department. Both times their tech support assisted in the diagnosis of DOA.
