Rating: Summary: Great for wi-fi! Review: If you need a wi-fi PDA you should consider this one. Pocket pc 2003 has made connecting wi-fi easier than before. It automatically sniffs out wi-fi APs and prompt you which one you'd like to connect to. Because this Toshiba has built-in wifi, you don't need to carry extra cards, which would have been bulky and wasting more battery power. And the memory! How can you not love so much memory in a Pocket pc, which is not the most efficient OS in the world, so the more memory = better performance. Xcale processor runs fast, but not hot, so you don't burn your fingers. Seriously this is the best Pocket pc and the wifi function just blows the competition away.
Rating: Summary: My 3rd PPC and by far the best! Review: This is the 3rd Pocket PC I have owned. (I had a Philips Nino and a Cassiopeia EM500) The Technology and the features of Win CE has come a long way. The built in WiFi connect with ease to my home and work networks. However, being familiar with WiFi home networks does help. The range of the WiFi was better that I expected and is compraiable to any of my other WiFi devices. In all this the best PPC I have had and I have had a month now with no issues. I highly recommend this unit over many of the others. And [at the price], you can not beat the price for performance!
Rating: Summary: My e755 Experience Review: 1. Shipping - Arrived as promised via UPS. Retail box inside a shipping carton. No visual damages. 2. Packaging & Contents - All good. 3. Out of the box - Purposely did not read the instructions first. Connected the A/C Adapter to the unit and started to use it right away. 4. No problem on making wireless connection to my existing network which consists of wired Ethernet and SMC wireless access point. 5. After the initial successful "dry run", it was time to read the enclosed User's Guide and drill down a bit on various shortcuts and options. 6. I use this unit for surfing the web and reading online emails while I am traveling - the MS ActiveSync takes care of all of them. Did run into some problems after upgrading my OL2000 to OL2002 (included in the Companion CD), so I SystemRestored my PC back to OL2000 and then did the sync again and it worked just fine. (If you are not using Office XP and want to upgrade to OL2002 as suggested, you may want to set a Restore Point before you set up the mobile software on your XP PC.) 7. So far, the unit meets all my expectations - fast, good color, MS Office supports,...! It looks like I'll keep it until the next newer (in technology)/better (in performance) PPC comes out in the next 6 - 12 months :-) Happy Mobile Computing :-)
Rating: Summary: Work good but with some problems Review: The PDA is really good. The most great functions I think are the 3.8" screen and Wi-Fi connection. However, there are some problems of this PDA: 1. Sometimes, the "Home" button will not function well(need to warm reset) 2. Difficult to buy a 3.8" screen overlay
3. The rebate form needs to send 2 times. Two of my friends and I can't find the record on the web, so we send the rebate form to them again and this time, our records appear on the web.
Rating: Summary: Ok product from a bad company Review: Like the others, I found this unit to be well designed, although lacking in features compared to similar products from HP, such as the iPAQ H5455 and H5555, although the iPAQs usually cost more than the Toshiba. However, the "what you pay is what you get" concept holds true in this case and the money you saved with the Toshiba, in my opinion, is not worth it. Toshiba has very bad customer service and rarely, if ever, come up with patches and upgrades to their ROM software. After owning 2 different Toshiba PPCs, I switched to an iPAQ and never looked back.
Rating: Summary: The BEST PocketPc Review: I have just bought my e755 few days ago and i was thrilled by it. PPCe755 was my first ppc and i thank god that i choose it.Because this one is the latest in the market and it has the largeest display 3.8" with stylish and sleek design Plus it comes with the new operating system Windows Mobile 2003 and great softwares in the companion cd which are very useful and make your PPC the best in Presentations ('P') I recommend You to bey it and you won't regret :p
Rating: Summary: I could not find a better value Review: I searched high and low for the most feature rich PDA with Pocket PC 2003 and integrated 802.11. No question, this is it! Not to mention Amazon's price, there is not a better price on the net!
Rating: Summary: display is inferior to hp Review: the display brightness and contrast is worse than models from hp. i would recommend comparing the displays at the local store if this is a concern for you. as it is i feel that pda's are hard on the eyes, so it is important for me to get the best possible display. otherwise, this is probably an excellent unit. however, i can't comment on customer service issues.
Rating: Summary: Great Pocket PC! Review: This is a great Pocket PC! Tons o' memory, two expansion options, and built in WiFi. Have had zero problems with it. The only thing I did was disabled the buttons on the upper left side of the machine...they are right where I grab it to pull it out of the cradle and it would launch notes on me. With the [money maount]rebate and free shipping, Amazon.com is the place to buy this PDA. As of this posting, you won't even come close elsewhere.
Rating: Summary: Toshiba support Review: This is would be an almost perfect PDA from my experience with an e740, (it does not have the screen resolution of my former Sony Palm OS PDA'S), BUT support is not good. They did answer my E-mail support question quickly, but had no solution. Even though my unit is not very old, they will not provide an upgrade to Mobile 2003, which it could easily support. I suspect support for the e75x PDA's will be equally poor and short lived, which translates into upgrading being very expensive. Buyer beware.
