Summary: e-200 THE BEST OF THE BEST
Review: I got the E-200 since january 2002, (5 months ago), and let me tell you, ITS GREAT!! is very fast, the display is crispy and brilliant, looks great outside even with direct sun ligth.

The memmory expansion is great, you could use 1gb harddisk.

the jacket expansion es very cool, you could use pcmcia card (like standar modems or network cards).

This is the bestpda you could buy.

Summary: Seeing the (back) light
Review: Just a note to advise prospective buyers that the BE-300 I received yesterday does have a flourescent backlight, despite Amazon's tech sheet indicating that it doesn't. Neither does Casio mention a backlight in their own specs... And it's a nice one, with five brightness settings for the backlight itself, as well as separate brightness and contrast settings for the LCD screen. My needs are much less demanding than the typical user, so the BE-300's shortcomings won't affect me. I just needed a screen I could see without fiddling with external light sources, unlike my Casio Pocket Viewer's sickly green backlight. Working against me, though, is the spidery font used by Windows CE. Ah, well, can't have everything.

Summary: Very good pocket, but.....
Review: Well, after a few days searching over the Internet to buy a nice pocket pc, i decided to buy a Toshiba e570 or a Audiovox Maestro, but Amazon didnt have them on stock so i decided to buy a Casio E-200 that looked nice, and full of things i would like to have (64MB RAM,CF,SD,etc).

When i got it, the first thing i say when i saw it was: "Oh my god, it's so shinny!" I never thought it was so shinny because on the photos it looks gray, but its like purple.

Well, after that i turned it on, and everything was perfect, i really liked (but not the shinny border). But after a few hours later i had to start reseting it, several times, it got frozen without a razon.

I did't really care about it, because im a newbie about pockets, but the traggic think happened 2 days later, when the pocket didn't want to start anymore, i got a message that said there was a problem with memory. I tried hard reseting, and doing a thousand tips that people over forums told me to do. Final result: The pocket had a permanent problem, so i had to return it.

I was very dissapointed about Casio, but very happy because i bought it on Amazon.com and they could refund the money or replace it. Of course i didn't want them to replace the Pocket.

Now im without pocket, but i think im going to buy a Toshiba, Audiovox or Compaq but Casio.

Summary: The BE300 - Awesome PDA & Awesome Price
Review: First off, let me start by stating that this is the first PDA that I have ever owned, and I am very happy with it...This is a great deal for the price! It makes some tradeoffs, such as only have a headphone jack instead of speakers. However, all the tradeoffs yield a superior device to the Palm and Handspring Model for the under $[money] price range. With a 128 Mb flash card, you can have for $[money], a viable organizer, mp3 player, video games, cartoon player (south park), notetaker, etc. I have only had the device for a few days, and I am already using it to work on math problems instead of paper and pencil!

The software that comes with it is somewhat limited, but the os can be changed due to the flash rom and there is software available.

Bottom line: If you can afford an expensive pocketpc device, buy that. If your looking to spend under $[money], buy the BE300, it is great!

Summary: Best Value in it's class
Review: I looked at various other PDA devices, and I ended up buying this one. I have owned the BE300 for three weeks now, and I think it is great. I bought this with the 64MB memory module, so that I can store MP3 files. I can store about an hours worth of music, and the battery lasts me the whole day. The option to turn off the display to conserve battery while playing an MP3 file is nice.

One thing that I noticed was that the color display is very difficult to see in full daylight. I think this is the same for any other LCD displays.

Delivery of this item was great. I ordered it on Wednesday, and by Friday, it was at my doorsteps.

The calendar program is another app that I frequently use, and it has met my needs so far.

I will have to figure out how to sync my address book on my PC with the contact program in the PDA. In the mean while, I have saved an excel spreadsheet , and look up my contacts that way.

Summary: What Else Can You Get Out OF A Handheld
Review: I did a lot of research on handhelds and was pushed in many directions. I was considering an Ipaq, Jourmada, Sony and Casio E-200. Each one of the top end handhelds generally offered the same hardware. The prices were generally the same except for Compaq's Ipaq which seemed a little over priced. So far I have been extremely happy with the E-200. The software was easy to use on both the desktop and the handheld. There is quite a bit of accessories for this. The software available is amazing. With this I also purchased the scan disk 256mb Compact flash. It goes in and works like a champ. I would highly suggest this item to whoever is looking to buy their first handheld or replacement.

Summary: Great PDA for the price.
Review: I was in the market for a PDA and I was confused as to which one to get since there are so many to choose from. I chose the cassiopeia be300 mainly because of the price. For [the price] you really can't get much in the PDA market. It has a color screen, adress book, calender, clock/alarm, but no expense report. I downloaded an expense report program ... and it works great. This PDA does everything I need. ... I bought this pda knowing that it will not work with windows ce and I am not disappointed one bit. Also, if you take the time to look on the web, there are many sites to download additional software.

Summary: Review for the Casio BE-300
Review: This review is for the Casio BE-300. Be aware that a number of the reviews listed here are for devices other than the BE-300. Don't know why that is.

I bought this as a replacement for an older Sharp SE300 that I thought was extremely well designed. The Casio BE-300 somewhat underwhelmed me.

The good:
- Price
- Color Screen
- A good number of add-on peripherals
- Flip-up screen cover
- Compact Flash slot
- Syncs with Outlook Mail, ToDo, Contacts
- Plays MP3 and videos (videos must be converted to Casio's own format)
- Web browser
- Data stored in non-volatile memory so even if your battery dies your data is still there

The not so good:
- Non-standard implementation of Windows CE-3
- No infrared port
- Will not sync with Outlook Notes (my biggest complaint)
- No removable battery (you can by add-on power pack, however)
- Flip-up cover is flimsy
- Stylus a little awkward to get at

Be aware that some peripherals may not work on the BE-300. I assume this may be because of the non-standard implementation of Windows CE-3. Casio uses their own operating system on top of CE-3 so you may lose some functionality there. For instance, I wanted to write Visual Basic programs for the BE-300. You can do for other CE-3 devices but not on the BE-300. I've also noticed that some third party peripherals and software may not work on the BE-300 so be sure to check if there's something you particularly want.

For the price it's not a bad unit. My biggest complaint was that you couldn't synch with Outlook Notes where I keep a lot of information. If you don't care about the things on the "not so good" list, you'll probably bee happy with the BE-300. I upgraded to a Jornada 567 and am happier with it (at over twice the price, though).

Summary: Worst of the bunch, I would say.
Review: This Pocket PC may have been glorious a whiles back, but to whoever reviewed it in April of 2002 and called it the greatest Pocket PC out there is by far wrong.

The innards of this Pocket PC are standard - the same as every other Pocket PC. The same 206mhz Processor, same 320x240 screen.

Now we come to the form factor of these Casio PPCs. Ew ew ew! Boxy, fat, and plain ugly! Then, look at the Audiovox Maestro, the shapeliest PPC on the market. It has all the same stuff, except 32MB less RAM. And several hundred dollars cheaper. You can easily remedy the RAM problem for much cheaper than the price difference, and you still have a beautiful form factor. Check out the form sizes.

The reviewers who call this machine amazing are really reviewing the amazing features of PPC2002 operating system. Not the Casio Pocket PC.

Go with the Audiovox Maestro, for hundreds of dollars less, and better form factor...You'll see that this Casio's not worth the terrible price.

Summary: Although a major problem...
Review: To start of I will just say that I have had some problems with the connecting buisness. It wont...connect. It just have difficulties. Casio have never heared of my problem before, but are very helpfull in trying to solve my problem. Dont want to let out a big pile of rubbish of what it excactly does, since I obviously am the only one...

Okay, this is a great PDA. In my eyes the best on the marked. I've done a lot of testing. Testings on the Ipaq 3850, Jornada, and then this. And this is in my eyes by far the best.
At the moment I am actuelly listening to musik on the E-200. I've attached it to my tv, so the sound is coming from my surround sound system. Now that' nice!!

I've downloaded a fair number of different Freeware programs from different sites. All great.
Before I bought this pda, I had a Palm IIIc. Looking back it was the worst buy ever. I loved it while I had it, but now I start laughing when ever I think about it. The screen was lousy, the software worse, and so on. While owning the IIIc, it was perfect, brilliant, the best buy ever. But in comparison to this one... well you just read what I think of it.

Back to the E-200. The screen works fine outside, not the best, but viewable. The battery is perfect, it just keeps going. The speaker is nothing grand, as expected. But you can plug in your own speakers. The flash card adapter, which is integrated, is a bit difficult to work with in the beginning. You have to learn a little "trick"...

The writing is smooth. Much easier than on the Palm. You can draw pictures on it, when taking notes. Zoom, rotate, de/increace the drawings size and so on.
I've beamed all my telefone numbers from my mobile phone (nokia 8210) to the E-200. It automaticly saves them.

A little warning to men and boys, the metal which is mostly displayed as dark grey...is purple. At least it is when you have it in "warm" light. When outside or in metallic lights it's black/dark grey. I was surprised when I first took it out of the package. Just a warning...

To round it all up, buy it. Its the best buy ever. Yes better than my Playstation 2!! Now that must tell you something about what I think about it. :)
