Summary: major computer user
Review: I love this pda - I had to upgrade as I had a palm with only 4 mb internal ram that was constantly clearing itself. I definately recommend getting a palm with 16 mb ram - by the time I loaded my basics, half was full.

Summary: After Six Months It is Completely Frozen
Review: Be very careful of this unit. After six months of pretty good use -- it simply froze with a "Fatal Alert Error", a hunk of junk. I can't do a soft or hard reset. I have followed all of Sony's included CD instructions. In fact, Sony's literature does NOT even mention "Fatal Alerts." My screen just flashes "Palm Powered" over and over. I have no idea what to do. I am giving up. Also, I had early problems with the date book synching, but I fixed those. (I still don't know how I did that.) Now it appears I cannot fix this thing. Money down the drain. I am not sure if it is a Sony problem or a Palm software problem. Either way, I will not buy a Sony or a Palm unit again.

Summary: Clie T615 A Resounding Success
Review: Much like many of you, when I decide to buy an electronic device, I spend a lot of time looking over my options and comparing items. After nearly four weeks of shopping, I still hadn't made a decision between the Clie PEG-T615 and the Palm 515. But, when I saw the picture (and color) quality of the two, the winner was the Sony, hands down.

Since my purchase, I haven't regretted my choice once. The Clie is everything I wanted in a PDA and more! With the same features as most Palm units and twice the memory and screen resolution, the Clie PEG-T615 puts other comparably priced Palm units to shame.

Whether you're a newcomer to the world of personal organizers or a Palm User since the Roman numeral days, the T615 is a must have!

Summary: 615c
Review: Very high quality, 16mb onboard memory is great. I have had difficulty downloading programs and setting them up. This should be flawless but for some reason it has been glitchy at best. Cover flap keeps falling off. Sony needs to come up with a better way to secure it. Performance is excellent. Very pleased.

Summary: Very Very nice!
Review: I did a re-search of all the available handhelds in the market and choose to buy this one and I'm very happy with it. I would compare it to the Palm M515 since it has the same memory capacity (16MB) and colors, but the resolution is WAY BETTER, you can see pictures and movies and they look great and the memory sticks are way cheaper than the palm ones.

It is compatible with all the other handhelds which makes it great and the look is better than any other. The only bad thing is that the Stylus is not holded very strong so you might loose it anywhere, but that's not a problem at all.

Summary: Doesn't work out of the box
Review: Not sure about quality, I charged the device, and after 4 hours it would not work - no welcome screen, nothing.

Summary: Great handheld!
Review: Thus is a great handheld. Great color. Easy to setup. Good documentation. Very solid feel. Screen is very responsive to stylus pen. Cradle is solid and handheld fits nicely in it. No complaints at all. Very happy with this purchase.

Summary: Quality and Repair service is Horrible
Review: My new Clie worked for about a week and the memory card would not
remain retained in the slot. Took forever n the phone to get a return authorization and then forever to get the unit back. Had it back for 4 weeks and the screen froze in the on mode. Could not be reset. Again went through all of the above grief and got the unit back in a "repaired state". Then it would not interface with the PC. I gave up. Sony won't take it back other than to try and fix again and neither will Dell mail order, my original source. Hopefully the credit card company will take care of this more effectively. Advertised features and functionality is great, but will it work? Service needs to be improved agreat deal.

Summary: be careful
Review: be very careful. I have a sony clie and it broke 2 months after i got it. is started getting white spots under the screen, then the digitizer was going crazy and I had to reset it after 5 min of use. I then put it in my pocket and walked to my room and the screen broke. why do they call them pocket Pc's if you cant put them in your pocket with out them breaking? and be aware that I took very good care of it. It was a waste of [price].

Summary: Great PDA! Knocks the socks off the m515...(Mac user)
Review: This is not be a comprehensive review since most all areas of this PDA have been commented on here and elsewhere. Some personal observations:

1) I've been a devoted Palm user since the Palm IIIx was a big deal and most recently had been a m515 devotee. Then I upgraded to this Sony T615 (referred to as 'Sony' from now on)...and I mean UPGRADE! The higher screen resolution makes it all worthwhile: it was like I traded in a 1950's Philco TV for a modern Sony HDTV! Note that the T615's screen colors are not as intense as the m515's, and the overall color cast on the Sony is somewhat in the blue range, but the Sony's screen is lit much more evenly than the m515 and it has a superior sliding brightness adjuster.

2) The up-down rocker button design do need a rework and have been described as "useless" and "unworkable" by some reviewers, but they work for me. Note that I have small fingers so someone with big, stubby ones may have a different experience. Alternatively I'm using a sturdy 3rd party pen/stylus (A.T. Cross Digital Duo Writer Rollerball Pen) which I can use to 'press-push' the rockers without a problem. Note I'm using a small leather case (designed to hold a Palm IIIx, using velcro to hold it in place) to protect my Sony so as a consequence the jog dial isn't as easily accessible to me.

3) The 'Normal' font on the Sony doesn't look the same as the Normal font on a low-res screen: it's way too light and wispy for me. I almost have to squint to read text set in the normal font. This was a big concern for me until I installed a hack called FontHack123 4.0C [URL]. This hack, used with lubak's Clie fonts [URL], specifically his 'OS5' fonts, gives back my familiar heavier-weight fonts system-wide! Of course these fonts are made for the hi-res Clie so they're smooth and super easy to read. You'll need HackMaster or a similar program to run FontHack. FontHack and the lubak fonts are freeware. All of my other hacks used on the m515 work fine on the Sony.

4) Sony has an feature called "High Resolution Assist" that provides the smooth fonts to apps that don't offer them natively. A great feature but it'll slow down some of your games, so disable it for those select programs.

5) I sync my Sony with my Mac. Note that the Sony T615 syncs natively with OS X, but for enhanced syncing options you may want to buy 'The Missing Sync," [URL] which was created specifically for the Sony Clie. For instance, you can use Sony's preinstalled "MS Import" to mount the Memory Stick on your Mac as an external drive, so I can now do a quick back up of the 80+ MB of stuff I have stored on my external Memory Stick! Couldn't back up my external card with the m515 in OS X.

6) Swelt, solid feel to this PDA. Amazon's selling this Sony for [price]. LESS than you'll pay for the inferior m515! It's a no-brainer.
